This is a great bike shop! No high-pressure salesmen with attitude, or corporate generic product here. You'll see bikes you've never seen before. All sorts of niche and hybrid varieties of touring, fat tire and "adventure" bikes. Some great deals could be had here. I got a great deal. Repairs are reasonable. Tune-ups are free when it's a bike that you've bought there! Best of all Eric the owner is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We need more bike shops like this! read more

Asked for just a bottom bracket bearing replacement for bb30 and got a 25 dollar quota over the phone. I removed the crankset to minimize costs (didnt seem to matter). Told the mechanic I'd install the crankset myself but he did it anyways. Took off the crankset only to find barely any grease on the bearings and spindle. Then had to degrease everything myself back home. Ended up paying 35 dollars. I also didnt get a call when my bike was ready which was not cool. read more

Great shop. They had a lot of cool stuff that I haven't seen stocked anywhere else. The shop has a curated vibe, not cluttered full of junk like some others. Titanium frames, belt drive bikes, suspension seat posts, bikepacking bags, and a lot more. Back in the tech shop, Travis set up my tires tubeless and wired my lights and hub in short time, and he was thorough in his work. The guys that work here are awesome! I was leaving cycle class and realized I had a screw missing from the clip in my shoe. I was in a hurry but stopped in to see if I could buy an extra screw. One of the guys there took my shoe and replaced the screw for free right there! My shoe is now all fixed just in time for cycle class today. I will definitely be back! read more

Brought in a bike and got the gears and brakes adjusted in 15 minutes. I tried a couple other places and could not get it done. So then I bought some more things that I needed. Fast, has a lot of stuff, very knowledgeable. Right off the freeway on Roselle if you are coming from anywhere. Off-ramps from the freeway right next to the place, and surrounded by a Mexican food place and coffee place. Very convenient. read more

I needed a new chain for my electric bike stopped at a shop close to my house and was told it would take 3 weeks so I went to cycle quest and they had me out the door in 15 minutes and not because they were slow but because the mechanic was a pro. Cycle quest is awesome! I wanted to get my bike tuned up, so I called them ahead and they said I could drop it off anytime. I explained to the person at the store that I was new to the town, and he was happy to give me an overview of the biking scene here and also a nice little map. When I went to pick up the bike a couple days later, another person (sorry, I forget the name) was manning the store and said he didn't have to work on the bike much because it was in such good shape. He charged me less than what I was originally quoted because he had to spend less time on it than originally thought! Who does that anymore?! Very poor customer service. They fill orders for another Company on amazon and dont stand behind what they sell. Got a defective tire from them and they told me it was my fault. When a tire leaks out of the the sidewall not the bead it's not because something wasn't installed correctly. The tire leaked sealant from the nipples on the side of the tire. Obviously they dont care because it was bought on line. Save your money and buy local. Lesson learned on my part. I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

So went here to take a look at some bike, seems like they just opened up. The place is small but packed with bikes. I was looking for a certain folding bike called "bike friday". And they are one if not the only place that has them in San Diego. Lucky for them I was right next door at "The Grill" having some lunch, and decided to just take a look see. The guy that I was talking to was really cool and very informative with his Bike Friday info. It looked like they also had a bunch of accessories and parts for sale as well. Lets start this off by getting the obvious out of the way, their superb knowledge and love of bikes that you would expect from a bike shop with a diverse selection. Never once were they bothered by my barrage of questions, they made sure I was comfortable every step of the way, not once did I feel pressured to buy something out of my price range or feel inferior for my lack of knowledge. I bought my new Surly Long Haul Trucker at Cycle Quest last month. Before coming here, I visited many bike shops from LA to SD. What made me choose to spend my hard earned money here is the EXCELLENT and personal customer service. The shop owner, Eric, allowed me to try out several bikes in different sizes without the high pressure sales pitch. We probably spent half the day at the shop. We live in Orange County and without hesitation, would drive the 60 miles to Cycle Quest for our next touring bike. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I bought my bike online and needed some help putting it together. They were very friendly and helpful. Not only was it affordable, but they took some extra time to explain how to oil my chain and gave me a sample of oil. I was told they typically only do that for people who actually buy a bike from them but I think she could tell I was new to biking. Additionally, they were very nice and allowed me to keep the bike at the shop for over a week because I was headed out of town and when I tried to pick up my bike it didn't fit in my car. If I ever buy another bike I will start here and I will definitely go back if I need any other bike related help. read more

I took my 12 year old Trek here for a much needed tune up. I had taken a mountain bike class and the instructor said my hub was loose. Travis checked the hub and said it would either be an easy fix (back in an hour) or if it was the cluster he might need to order a part. Turns out it was the latter- only when the part came in it had changed ( given the age of the bike) and wouldn't work. I needed a whole new wheel- sounded expensive but he said he could reuse the parts from the old wheel and it would be about $70. My tire exploded climbing out of Del Mar, and I'm so lucky CycleQuest was open! They hooked me up with two new tires, and the owners were nice enough to help me install them as I was in a rush to meet back up with my bike buddies. Just stopped in as my mom was looking to get a bike, Older guy working there was very helpful, and was outlining all the Plusses/minuses of various bike choices etc (this was even though he knew that my mom was just visiting, and would probably not buy a bike here to ship back to Canada!). Though they primarily cater to touring-ey types, they have a decent selection of lights, and some nice mountain and fat-tire bikes. Really nice, low pressure, and genuinely enthusiastic about bikes. Eric and Tim were very helpful in building a couple of Opus Classico for my wife and me, to test. The ones they had already built weren't the right size for us. They show patience with our requirements, and we share our admiration for Opus bikes. Eric also asked to Opus HQ in Canada, for a special bike I was looking for (Opus Jura), to see if by any chance, they had one available (No luck any way). We ended purchasing the 2 bikes, and after that, Eric offered a free adjustment session, once the bikes were used a little bit, and to keep the original boxes for us for a week, because, in the short term, we will need to fly over with the bikes. Definitively this is a great bike shop, with nice and personal attention to the costumer, and is the right place if you are looking for an Opus bicycle, even if you are not in CA.
