A problem undiagnosed for months had the potential to damage my car's engine. This was disappointing after so many years of superior service. I still recommend Blvd Auto Repair for routine maintenance, state inspections, or repairs which can be computer diagnosed, but I'm unsure about the team's manual diagnostic skills. Over a year after spending around $1,000 for an AC compressor replacement, I've made about 10 visits to the shop and am out about $700 in additional parts/labor (two blend door motor replacements, climate control unit replacement, relay replacement), none of which solved intermittent problems with the AC randomly turning off and blowing hot air or the heater either blowing air so hot it burned my ankles or the system not working at all. No offer of even a partial refund for labor or parts was made. My report of a sizeable puddle of fluid under the car after the AC compressor replacement was brushed off as condensation. A SINGLE trip to another mechanic resulted in a successful repair. (To be fair, the overheating engine was a helpful clue). Still, for over 8 months Boulevard Auto Repair failed to notice a significant leak in my engine cooling system caused by a coolant supply pipe which was rusted through. I'm disappointed that the reported large puddle under the car wasn't investigated more thoroughly last fall. Had that happened, the engine coolant issue may have been found sooner and the cost of replacement AC parts/labor may have been avoided. Apparently excess heat in the engine compartment -- not AC system issues -- was behind the AC compressor overheating and shutting down. Looking for the cause only in the AC system resulted in costly repairs that may not have been necessary. Missing the issue with the coolant leak could have put my engine at risk for damage. Bottom line? My confidence in the shop is not what it used to be.

My tire wasn't holding and turns…read moreout I had a nail in my tire so I dropped it off in the morning and was told they should be able to get to it "this afternoon". When almost 3pm rolled around and I hadn't heard anything I called to check in. Was told that they were at lunch and would get back to me in an hour. When I still didn't hear back, I called at 4ish because they closed at 5pm. I was told that they weren't going to be able to look at it today, when I reminded him that they told me it was going to be done in the afternoon the front desk told me "it's unlikely it'll be done in the 51 minutes before we close". I went and picked my tire up that they left in the lobby, brought it to my car (and was covered in dirt). That's not the biggest deal but was the cherry on top of my experience when I leave with dirt all over my white shirt. I tried to support a local business but ended up bringing my car to Firestone and they were able to fix it and put it back on my car within the hour and cheaper than what boulevard tire quoted me. The overall frustration is the lack of communication, if they had just called me and let me know in the afternoon they weren't going to be able to get it done I think it would have been different.
