I had to get an Uber ride into Carytown from 8 miles out on the trail but Joel assured me they could take it in on Sunday. He said 'we are a full service' bike repair shop and we're open today so bring it in and we'll take a look at it. Upon arrival, I got a professional greeting and Joel gave me a realistic estimate of the cost and the time line for repairs. You got to like that level of service. Like most other shops in Carytown, you will be challenged to find parking. They have no dedicated lot so you'll walk 2 to 3 blocks to find street parking.

I went in to see about buying new rims for Rockhopper because I hate Presta valves. The salesman…read moresaid it made more sense to modify the rim, it's cost prohibitive to buy new rims for that purpose. He told me they do that there. I brought the bike back, it was a different guy, he said he would look into it. I said only change the presta tubes if the mod can't be done . I came back and there were presta tubes on it. I asked why they didn't do the conversion, the same guy told me "I told you we don't do that service." I said no, you did not. You said you had to ask about it. It was clear he did not. He dismissed that. I would have taken it somewhere else. Their loss though, I was thinking of selling the Rockhopper and getting a comfort bike, which will not be at Agee's now. I don't like being lied about to.

He heard I got hit on the trail, so he wanted to make sure I wasn't afraid to ride again. He took me out on a tandem. He and a friend fixed my handlebars and took me out on the Capital Trail (the scene of the crime) for a quick lung check. Be extra careful even at the light signals. I'm recovering from getting hit on the Capital Trail at the crosswalk on New Market Road with the "push button light." Some drivers stop and some don't I managed to get away with just a concussion, some Fractured ribs, small puncture in left lung, and bruises/abrasions on my elbows. I'm in pain but I'm so grateful to be alive!!!! I remember proceeding through the light because a car stopped after pushing the button, but I don't recall getting hit as I proceeded to cross. I guess that's an additional blessing b/c I know I would be too afraid to ride again. Y'all be safe and keep cycling!!! Pain killers and people like Elvin keeping me going.

The bikes are MSRP but the provide a few perks such as 1/2 price builds, installs, a free bell and priority service. They carry a wide range of brands such as Aventon, Gazelle and Electric Bike Company along with a few others. The rental service is superior as we had Kenny help us a couple of times. Kenny will go out of his way to answer all your questions and attend to all your needs.

Everyone there was super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Especially Kenny, he had a lot of patience for all our questions and made sure we were comfortable with how the bikes operated so we'd be safe on the trail. We had a blast riding the electric bikes and went further in the time frame than we would have on our regular bike. Oh, fun fact, the owner is from Sweden and Kul means fun in Swedish!
