So I agreed for Adam's to come by knowing of their $120 feet.I had been doing some construction next to the emergency cut off switch & not realized I must had hit the switch. Adam's company saw the switch off when they came in and asked if I turned off the switch. They turned on the switch & everything was working again. They told me a lot of people turn it off not knowing. I was thankful that it wasn't any major. I wasn't happy that they charged me an additional $60 for labor. $180 for being at my house for less than 5 min. Then had the nerve to ask me if I wanted to clean my furnace for $412. I will NEVER use this company again. Straight greed!

Here's why: From the replacement of our heat pump in 2017 or 2018 (I can't remember), we have never had a job done that didn't require a follow up because of a mistake or an oversight in the service. Most recently, our heat pump wasn't switching back and forth from heat to cooling with the changing season. We called to get service. I was at work when the technician arrived, but he charged my wife over $100 to replace the air filter claiming that was the problem when we had mentioned in the initial call there was a problem with the compressor. It wasn't the air filter. The problem continued. On a return visit, I recreated the problem for the technician (incredibly nice guy, for what it's worth) and he came to the conclusion that a piece in the compressor needed some lubricant. The store to pick up that lubricant was closed, so he would pick some up and return another day. We never heard another word. So why three stars? My heart says this is a 2 star review. The guys do know what they are talking about, and, judging by other reviews, we seem to be an anomaly. It is why we continued to give them chance after chance for the past 5 years. I am tacking on that bonus star because the technicians that come out are incredibly nice and always answer my questions when I have them and I like that quality. Unfortunately life is getting just a little too busy to keep following up every time they come out and the job isn't complete, so we're going to look for someone who will get it right on the first try.

I did call them after hours and the answering service stated that a ProWorks person would return the call within 30 minutes. Unfortunately, that did not occur, and therefore I stayed up from 2:30am until 7am to call into their office. Brandy stated that she would get someone out as soon as possible when I spoke with her at 7am. A ProWorks professional showed up by 10am. He was professional, friendly and charged a reasonable amount for the services provided. I will always call ProWorks for my HVAC needs.

Recently a heat wave pushed my central AC to the brink, my home maintained a balmy 80 to 82 degrees. I attributed it to the ac being old and temperatures near 100. (truth be told we have been contemplating a new unit) After two brutal days of this, I called their service department. Now we are in a heat wave, I know they are busy, but they showed up within 24 hours. The office actually diagnosed the issue on my initial call, more on that later. I was given a window for the service call. The technician texted me they were enroute and the text had the technicians name and picture. 5 minutes after the text, the technician calls me to discuss the issue and talk to me about what they had on file about my ac as I have two units. In short he was saving time on site by getting the background so they could get right to work upon their arrival. They gave me an ETA and once on site they hit the ground running. Within 20 minutes, the issue was found, which is exactly what the office told me was the likely cause. You may think this story sounds like a normal repair call, but it had 5 star attributes. The company was on point with their appointment time, they contacted me twice within 1/2 hour of the appointment time to let me know they were on their way and to discuss my issue. The technicians pulled up in a labeled Ambient Comfort service vehicle and both technicians wore company branded apparel. At no point did it appear that this company was anything less then professional. Their iPad documented their site findings and photographed aspects of the system. I compare this to some business that pull up in an unbranded truck or a truck that looks like it was lucky to be road worthy. It doesn't sound like much but when you want a company to show up, you want to ensure their vehicles and equipment are functional. Cost was reasonable, and somewhat priceless considering the situation. Truth be told I expected when I called to be told that they are days away from showing up, their 24 hour repair was much appreciated.

All this time, we've been purchasing "Gold Membership" service contracts from them for our approx. two-year-old HVAC system. Ambient had just done a regularly scheduled service call two months ago and certified our AC ready for summer. Midday, during last weekend 's heatwave, we couldn't get the house lower than 77°. We called Ambient and they sent out a serviceman. He checked out our system for two hours and said everything looked okay to him and Ambient charged us $180 for his visit on top of our $200 Gold Service Membership contract fee. The next two days, the air conditioner was doing the same thing during the afternoon hours, even though the outside temperature had dropped by 20 degrees. The house was uncomfortably warm and it's a small house. The fairly new AC should have been able to handle it. We called Ambient back and told them that we were still having the same issue and they told us that our air conditioner is "doing the best that it can and that it's typical in this heat for an air conditioner to stick in the mid to upper 70s range and that there's nothing wrong with our system." What!? When we told them that none of our neighbor's air conditioners were doing that, and that we've never experienced that in any other home during any heatwave ever, during 40 years of home ownership, they called back to say that they were canceling our contract, returning our money, and didn't want our business anymore. No problem. There are plenty of other HVAC businesses around who we're sure would appreciate our cash. Moving on. Heads up. We definitely DO NOT recommend Ambient Comfort!

They tampered with both my electrical and plumbing and I had to have the work assessed by a professional and take pictures and make records of everything for legal reasons. It is very possible that many of these yelp reviews are from family and friends or paid third party. Be very careful who you let in your home. ALWAYS ask for their detailed paperwork and match it up with their driver's license if you have to. Whatever it takes because there is A LOT of fraud out here nowadays.
