Manager is very rude. As soon as we started looking at items we were followed around the store. I always get profiled at this CVS. For reference I am a hispanic/asian teenager, I have never stolen or tried to steal from anywhere. Today I was looking at butter squishes and picked one up planning to buy it, the manager followed me around the store so I decided not to buy it. After putting the squishy down he then proceeded to check inventory to see if anything was stolen. Another time I was there looking at makeup, he told me I had to buy it like i was planning on stealing it?? He was also rude to my friend who asked about a Pokémon card pack and was immediately told they couldn't sell it to him. Overall horrible experience every-time at this CVS. read more

Came in trying to buy some Benadryl. In the employee didn't let us in because he was closing early. We arrive there at 8:40pm when they are supposed to be closing at 9pm. We should Have still been allowed to go in 20 minutes remaining from closing time. read more

This was not a good experience. When I walked in I saw no carts or hand baskets. It took me a while to find an employee and when I did I asked if they had any way to hold items and they said "no" and walked away. I knew it'd be shopping for quite a few items so this annoyed me. The store is also not laid out right. The shampoo is far away from the body wash aisle. It makes no sense. Typically, I like CVS but I would not return to this location. read more

The store was not well organized. A ton of Christmas shirts were overstuffed on a rod in the holiday merchandise aisle and there were very long lines with one cashier. That same cashier made me feel like I was trying to encroach upon the customer in front of me. She hollered at me to move further back so that I'm not invading the customer's privacy. This wasn't even at the pharmacy! I was several feet away, and I turned to the customer behind me who frowned at the cashier and mouthed "What the..." He was equally perplexed. I wouldn't return to this location unless they really had something another CVS didn't have. read more

Pharmacist could be more polite, I get this is a rough area, but doesn't mean you shouldn't focus on customer satisfaction. Told me one hour for my prescriptions. I came back, and instead of verifying the fourth medication, that I needed the most because I was visually in pain. She told me it would be another 20-30 minutes as she's administering a vaccine... why wouldn't you get the customer that was here first out the way. I'll never come back here. read more

My doctor sent a prescription to the CVS pharmacy store #1485, located at 13729 Connecticut Avenue in Aspen Hill Maryland on 2/6/2023, and the pharmacy said "Your insurance requires approval We've reached out to your prescriber, which may take a few days." It just makes no sense that if the doctor had not approved the medication the doctor would not have sent the prescription to the pharmacy, and the pharmacy kept telling me that they have reached out my prescriber, which may take a few days. This has happened before many times, I wonder if this pharmacy has some kind of management problems. read more

This is a very convenient CVS for me. It is just a few shops down from the Five Below store and in the middle of the same shopping plaza as the Giant grocery store. There are plenty of parking spaces in this shopping plaza. This store is like any of the other CVS stores near me with 2 self checkout stations just to the right of the door upon entering. I use them most of the time. I like to have a quick & easy exit once I've found what I need. My extra care coupons and bucks on my cvs.com account have been taken off the total bill automatically once the pay button has been selected. Scanning the paper versions of these when necessary has also been easy. I usually shop here only when there's a good sale price on something or if I have really good coupons and extra care bucks. The prices at CVS tend to be higher than what I'd pay at a Target store for the same health, beauty, snack & grocery items. The employees that I have interacted with and observed have been helpful, efficient & friendly. As CVS corporate is closing down the CVS store closest to my home in December I will have to choose a new CVS pharmacy location to get my medicine refilled at. This store would be a very acceptable choice. I do have a suggestion that would help convince me to do so. I am looking for a store that I can regularly buy a bag of Take Five fun size candy bars! Not understanding why every single time I come to this CVS pharmacy I always get stuck in Yaneth line and she never properly assist me! Yaneth can never locate my daughters medicine she ask for the name a million times how to spell the name the date of birth then ask me to write her name down and still has difficulty finding the perception! This process takes way to long and Yaneth needs a different job to do other than aggravating customers! No one else ever has an issue it's only her and at times she needs assistance! My daughter doesn't have a hard name or something that is hard to pronounce, dealing with Yaneth irritates me every single time! I visited the Aspen Hill CVS at Connecticut Ave. today and I received such bad service! The cashier name James was very rude. I first noticed when I heard him being rude to the customer in-front of us. The way he talks to customers should not be allowed. If you are unhappy with your job then find another one that you like don't just be there looking miserable and taking your anger out on customers. He didn't even offered me a bag or asked me if I wanted one for something I purchased that was intimate but yet he clearly didn't care he just wanted us out of there. There's having rules and policies and then there is just being idiotic in following them even when it makes no sense at all. Went in today to get my booster and was told they only do walkins after 11am and they were booked. I started to leave, but then noticed there were zero people waiting and the guy giving vaccines was just standing there with his hands in his pocket. I pointed that out to the pharmacy worker and she insisted now that was just their policy. I asked for clarity that they would rather him stand there than put a shot in an arm and she just reiterated the same. Stuff like this rarely makes sense but to miss a chance to get a shot in the arm during a pandemic is particularly idiotic. read more

This is strictly a review for the personnel (and as an aside, the store was very clean): we went there three nights ago while in the neighborhood. Both the manager (Kevin) and the cashier (Alexis) were VERY friendly, and the manager was also very helpful (for example, one of the items I needed wasn't on the shelf and he found some for me in the stockroom). It's not a huge store and I was only looking for specific items, but the two terrific employees compel me to give five stars. read more

This location really sucks, the store is always packed with sketchy looking people. Impossible to find a parking spot near by as the whole aspen hill center sucks. And worst of ll the pharmacy and all its staff, they are super slow, rude and not helpful at all. A single drop off here takes at least 45 minutes, and the pick up at least an hour. This location is always understaffed up front and at the pharmacy. The pharmacy is by far the worst part though. It takes them forever to find your prescription if the even have it in stock. They ran out of a rx for my wife and told her to come back in a couple days for it. Thankfully it wasn't like her life depended on the rx but they should be more concerned with having these things available. They are medications prescribed my a doctor ya know. I've been going to this CVS since I was kid, so I have a very thorough understanding of how they operate here. First, the pharmacy- I never had to deal with this section of the store until recently, since I am now old enough to manage my own prescriptions. If you go during peak hours, there is definitely a long wait (that's an understatement). If you can wait to pick up your prescription until after the wait dies down, I would. Try to make sure your prescription is already filled before coming in. The pharmacy staff seems to be limited on people since there is usually only one cashier handling pick up orders. They do not show a sense of urgency for the wait, which bothers me since I work in customer service, but otherwise they aren't rude. Anytime I've called with an issue or a question, the pharmacy staff is always accommodating and patient. The cashiers and managers.. are okay. There used to be a new manager at one point who was super friendly and it seemed like the place was taking a turn for the better, but I'm assuming he left because everything seems to be unchanged. The cashiers are apathetic. The current manager is kind of rude. They left a promotional sale up from the week before and when I asked for them to honor it since it was their fault it was left up, he did nothing and insinuated that I knew it was old. The sign was misleading and they should have honored it. I work as a cashier and where I work, if we forgot to take a sign down from a previous sale, we'll honor it. That's the way customer service works- make sure the customer is happy. He didn't want to take responsibility for it. All in all, decent place to shop. I come here for most of my needs that don't require me going to a big store. Plus, their rewards program is good if you like coupons. read more

The store itself seems fairly decent. The store is mid-sized as CVS stores go, and is open 24 hours. I've never had a problem with the store part of it. The pharmacy, however, is not a great operation. The service is slow (more so than at other CVS stores where I've had prescriptions filled), and most annoying for me, they set all of the prescriptions to automatically refill by default. As someone who occasionally travels and who may be nearer to other CVS stores while running errands and such, I find it obnoxious for a pharmacy to refill your prescriptions for you without permission. I control when I refill my prescriptions - not the pharmacy. Likewise, my doctor determines what sorts of prescription meds that I should have, and the pharmacy should not be acting as a pill pusher. read more

This is one of the CVS stores that was originally a People's Drug back until the mid-1980s. This one really started to go downhill in the mid-1990s, and by 2011 it's deep in the middle of a low-rent barrio and that's who it caters to. The management seems to tolerate a lot of institutionalized racism and outright abusiveness against persons believed -- rightly or wrongly -- to be "crazy". If you speak perfect Espa~ol and/or haven't been seen there before, they generally are happy to take your money for chips and soda, or to fill your prescription. Yet other than that, this store is a hotbed of lousy and occasionally even hateful or mildly violent/abusive service and in general most of the counter clerks act like they'd really rather drive away all customers who aren't their "homies". Remember, this is in the heart of a neighborhood and shopping district widely noted for graffiti, armed robberies, public rapes and blatant displays of gangster activity. If all of that gangster stuff wasn't, well, working out of the Aspen Hill Shopping Center -- almost certainly including some staff at this CVS, the situation would improve not only in the CVS, but throughout all of the nearby stores and ultimately in the neighborhood. CVS needs to work with the police to clear out the bad element on their staff, or the district office is likely to walk into substantial litigation as well as potentially criminal investigations mostly in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Maryland Anti Gang Act of 2010. read more

After walking around for about 10 minutes in this CVS I was unable to find what I was looking for let alone any staff on the floor to assist me. I got in line and asked the girl with the hijab at the register if she knew where I could find it, she rolled her eyes and told me "it's in one of the isles, ask someone that's walking around" I told her I've walked around the store three times and haven't found what I was looking for or any workers, she told me "there is someone there". The people here do not deserve a 1 star. I've lived nearby and visited this store and pharmacy my whole life. I've never had an outstanding negative experience. Most of the cashiers have always been friendly and easygoing, and the pharmacy staff helpful. It is true they can get very busy sometimes at peak hours but why aren't you having your prescriptions called in ahead of time anyway? They can call or text you when they're ready. My mother went into this CVS today to buy gift cards for someone purporting to be from Pepco and threatening to turn off her power. The manager told her that it was a scam and warned her not to do it. Another employee helped her call Pepco to figure out that it was a scam. These 2 employees are a credit to the community and to all of CVS. I am so touched that these people helped my mother when she was vulnerable and scared. Thank you. read more

One star is even too good for this CVS. I went in around 11:00pm. My mom and I were looking at the item down the shelf. An employee name Miezan or Niezan bumped into my mom, fail on her hand, and said "sorry, I didn't see" at that point I couldn't not be any more angry. I looked over and he was clearly re-stocking the shelf. How could he not see two customers. It's impossible!! We went up to pay for our items and I asked him how could he not see two customers right there. He said "the stuff was going to fall down on u". WHAT STUFF! if there was something falling, we wouldve notice when we were walking pass by! (walked pass by 2-3 times) clearly he was re-stocking the shelf. Inept. It worries me that the pharmacy is supposed to read prescriptions and fill them yet they cannot judge how long a prescription will take to within 5 hours. The prescription was supposed to be ready at 5:00. It was not. They said it would be ready at 6:00. They said come back in 30 minutes. Came back at 9:00. Still not ready. It took them until 10:00 to fill a prescription that was promised at 5:00. We started getting our prescriptions filled at the CVS on Viers Mill near Twinbrook Pkwy. They have been consistently good at getting our prescriptions filled quickly. read more

I go here all the time because it is the closest location and each time, it is dreadful. I believe I have had one okay experience (out of dozens). It is just sad that this place is so awful. CVS has gone downhill in every way that a retail establishment can. My insurance company dictates that I either receive my prescriptions by mail order or from CVS. As often as not, CVS is out of whatever prescription I must renew. It was explained to me that they only keep a minimum amount of many drugs on hand to save on corporate expenses. They have also stopped carrying brand names of common items, replacing them with CVS brands. The pharmacist on duty at roughly 5;00 P.M. on the evening of April 4, 2015 was actually screaming at a customer over the telephone and abrupt and nasty to myself as well.. Conversely, the pharmacy at Giant at Montrose, is well-run and well-stocked. A shame that AENTA dictates I must use CVS. read more
