I suppose this store is really a 3.5. I can't be angry at this store because none of the closer CVS has anything in stock. I can't be angry because the area is difficult to get to and overrun with tourists. I can't be angry because some things, even cheap items are under lock and key while similarly priced items or not. And I can't be angry when there is no self checkout when even though the lines are long, the registers are fully staffed. My stuff needed to be unlocked. The worker apologized for the wait, but I didnt wait long at all. CVS coupon application is confusing, they take off your rewards BEFORE they apply any percentage off. Good for the store, less savings for me. Prices are going up and they are less competitive with Costco and Amazon. I find myself shopping at CVS less. But this particular store is clean, fairly well organized and staffed with good people. And they had stuff I wanted in stock. Just be prepared for the tourists. read more

Alright now, I am debating between keeping faith & hope in humanity or not really exaggerating such an extraordinary shopping experience I've had today with the assistance of an exceptional service person, Raymond, who has every reason to take pride in the kind of service he offers, and not only from a single angle. My whole interaction with him felt like a scene from a cartoon show where both he & I were surreal characters practicing mutual niceness as soon as we shared hellos with each other as I proceeded in the line for my turn to checkout! I had no clue such gentleness or a sincere intention and willingness of a retail worker's to help someone he didn't know, yet still so unbelievably wholeheartedly like a real friend, would be the theme of my day today; it is truly surprising! Especially given, this store is located in a globally iconic tourist attraction's very heart, I as a SERVICE professional myself, could empathize only so much with the burn-outs such a constantly customer facing job there would naturally be bringing along to one's shift as well as their overall mood, first and foremost as a HUMAN, most prior to anything else. Has anyone of you readers ever worked in such a tough retail role in such a demanding location? My answer to that question is simply why you feel surreal, my friend, Raymond. So, Raymond asks me if I'm an existing member, I kindly let him know that I don't actually remember; and he prompts a screen on the pad for me to question that; and there you go, I am indeed a member. I had two items, a bottle of coconut juice and my favorite roasted & salted pistachios. As soon as my membership info is confirmed, Raymond wants me to pay for the juice first which is less than $5, and likely to print a coupon with the receipt. Which happens to be the reality in a matter of seconds, Raymond is indeed a trustworthy sorceror showing me my $5 coupon for my eligible next purchase; which is the bag of pistachios! I don't know if the management is aware of the value such a decent employee as Raymond brings; but he absolutely deserves a role that will have a bigger of an impact in critical / key decision making processes. He is aware of what he is doing and he is the kind of employee that every employer who has a keen intention in building and maintaining a solid foundation of regulars would want to have as a literal fixed human asset of their business. Thank you for reflecting the manifestation of Goodness back on US Raymond, and thank you for sharing your gift to serve with communication mastery and your resourcefulness which you effortlessly bring to the table. Such a rare retail experience for a local customer to have in a touristy spot, where businesses are very well known to generate their revenues through the tourist streams, mainly. This location is always out of stock of everything. Want toothpaste, a gatorade, or even basic gum? they seem to be out. Even when it's a Monday, when they should have had there stock shipped. Considering where this CVS is located I'm surprised by what is/isn't here. I can't even get a water here. The refrigerators here are very cold (lukewarm at best). I can barely find anyone to help me out when I need to get something that is locked up. Takes about 15-20 minutes for someone to come to "aisle 1". read more

Come here all the time when I visit fiahermans's wharf so we can get some cheap refreshments compared to those store inside fishermen's wharf. It's just sad to see how people just came in and grab everything they want and just walked out of the door like it's their own pantry room after Covid. It's sad to see how even ice cream were locked and we need to call staff to get ice cream. I mean OMG! First of all let me start by saying that Robert is a super star!!!!!! We are on vacation and unfortunately one of our friends could not make it. So we thought it would be fun to make a cut out of his face. Robert was so much fun and he helped us put it together. He printed the photograph of his face and brought us some carton boxes that were empty and he suggested that we glue his face to the cardboard!!!! Wow! Not only was he helpful, he was super funny and fun. He definitely made this idea possible and we are having so much fun with it! It's so great when a person doing his job can make your experience so much better, so with that being said, I needed to make sure to take a moment to recognize great customer service.... This CVS is located in a prime location of the Fisherman Wharf. It has everything and I ahave a feeling its there for tourist. There are so many touristy stuff. But prices are priced higher than any other CVS store. Gum for 2 pack was $9.50. That's an overcharge you got there. Its quite busy in this CVS store. but like I say its made for tourist. read more

I went to buy water bottles at this store. When I put my hand in their fridge the plastic labels above that says the prices was broken and sharp stabbed my knuckle and cause me to bleed. I told the register person Jefrey and told him I need a bandaid. These fools never apologized or even offered to provide any discount for cutting up my finger. I could have opened a case since I don't know if anyone else got cut by it and could have given me something. Jefrey got a manager to help me and I told him I needed a bandaid. He asked me do you need a few but never apologized for getting cut in their store. He asked where it happened I told him. I hope no one else gets cut because they can get themselves into legal trouble. read more

This store is generally packed with tourists but with the Covid 19 lockdown in place it is virtually empty of people but still really well stocked. The staff are extremely friendly and very careful about hygiene, all the products are disinfected and the security guard will open the door for you. read more

We needed water and some cash, so we stopped in to cool down, get something to drink and ended up walking through the store to pick up razors, snacks and a couple of souvenirs. Unfortunately, this CVS is just an overgrown 7-11. If you need to go to a pharmacy, the closest one is the Walgreens at Northpoint and Powell, about 3 blocks away. If you have your heart set on CVS, you'll need to head over to Van Ness and Jackson, about a mile away. read more

I went in to pick up travel size deodorant and toothpaste and they didn't have a single brand that I am familiar with. I just wanted a travel size of original Crest, everything but. They have mint and gel and cool this or that. I am ao tired of never ending brand extensions that are pushed instead of just selling original. It was like that with a few things. It's great having this CVS across the street from Pier 39 because I am able to buy reasonably priced snacks, soda and bottles of water whenever I am in this part of the City. Other places in this area (yes, it is a tourist trap) charge too much for the same things. They also have a nice selection of the same kinds of souvenir items you would find in the nearby gift shops. read more

I'm not a huge fan of CVS, just came here because they were in a conscientious location. I needed a portable charger for my phone. All of the phone accessories are locked up so you have to push the call button for an attendant. It took them about 15 minutes to respond to the call. Even though staff continued to walk past us. One even said that it's not their section and walked away. If my phone wasn't dead I wouldn't have bought anything. read more

I have been looking everywhere in San Francisco for basic essentials since the Covid19 breakout. They had toilet paper, paper towels and hand sanitizers. WOW. I was so impressed with the workers. I've been coming here since they opened, Came in with a rewards coupon that expires 9/19/19 and the clerk said my phone number that I put into the device 3x's correctly was not in the system? I asked if she would honor the receipt with the coupon and she said no. Didn't offer to help or look into why my existing account was not available. This location refuses to honor any sales, in particular the weekly Sunday advertisements. This means, even if you scan your CVS loyalty card at the register, you'll be paying the full price; this is why you don't see sales tags on the shelves, while all other CVS locations give you the proper sale price. When I was there, I had to show them the Sunday ad from the CVS smartphone app just for them to bend over and provide me the price. I even told the manager who had to ring me up of why you don't honor the prices like the rest of the stores. I got no answer. This is likely at the busiest and most touristic block of San Francisco - it's between Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf. Yet, the amazing staff makes you feel like you're at a small, family owned store, greeting people by name (if they are regulars like me). Yes it doesn't have a pharmacy - but who cares? There's pharmacy's nearby. But they do have tourist gifts, food including salads and sandwiches and everything else you'd want in a CVS - including beer and wine. Since they know my name, I did want to mention Winnie, Shirley, Robbie and Kevin by name - they are great assets to CVS. read more

kathleen the cashier, a connoisseur of live street music, was the most helpful and cheerful of about anyone ive ever met in the biz. also, this is a brilliant location for this kind of place. one stop shopping for your cranberry juice, purse sized personal burts bees wipies, false eyelashes for your later night on the town, and ibuprofen. oh and alcatraz escapee salt and pepper shakers. read more
