First of all, I didn't have a choice to switch my pharmacy to this CVS. The switch was automatic, I'm assuming through Rite Aid choosing the nearest pharmacy. I went for the first time to pick up my medication. The middle-aged assistant, Latina-looking was so impatient with me. I really wish I caught her name. When she asked my name, I told her and had to repeat myself, which was fine, but the look on her face was already of irritation. When she asked my date of birth, the irritation was heard in her voice. Lady, you shouldn't be having this job if you're irritated easily. Then, as I was inputting my phone number for the CVS awards, she literally cut me off, mid-input! I was annoyed with her by this point, so I just let it go. Maybe she was just having a bad day. Maybe it's time for her to retire. Next time, if I see her at the window, I'll be sure to be extra nice to see how she acts then. read more

I was just there today 1/19/24 @4pm ish, looking to get the flu shot and get some medicine afterwards. I showed up to the pharmacy and I was shocked to see this CVS with a full staff. Immediately, this kind and beautiful woman i might add rushed to help me. I think her name tag said Andrea. She answered my questions and even took the time to find me a coupon for a discount. Compared to other CVS locations in San Diego - this is by far the cleanest and well organized location I have ever walked into. They offer merchandise that other locations do not carry. I can shop peacefully, not worry about the products I love being locked away behind a glass case. The manager is a stellar individual with great customer service. I made the mistake of setting down my COVID test that I had paid for at the pharmacy and was charged for it. However, returns on COVID test are not possible. I was offered store credit or the reward dollar thing (part of the CVS rewards program). It was my fault and in no way the sales associates. They were super kind about it and honestly I'm happy regardless. I've never used my coupons and learned you cannot use them towards alcohol and that's a bummer. It's okay though lol. Overall my experience was great and I had to circle the isles because of how nice this place was on a Thursday night. The pharmacy associate though could use some training on customer service. Very poor customer service. There are never any carts, so if you are disabled don't bother trying to shop here. When asked about the carts, pharmacist straight up ignored me as if I was asking her about nonsense. When I asked the manager he gave me a half answer and no apology as if I was being unreasonable for wanting to be able to shop there. I love CVS but the one really sucks. Also their vaccination corner is dirty/has trash. They do not clean it for each use, and pharmacists do not wear masks when dispensing vaccines. read more

The lady who gave us a hard time last time was actually not bad today but the girl behind the register who helped us today name "MIRIAM" was absolutely horrible. She told us they no longer accept coupons anymore which is really funny because that's not true because in the end they still let me check out with coupons. She just kept looking so angry and laughing the whole time so I had to ask her what I did to make her so mad? Maybe because she doesn't like people who save money? I like this CVS but coming in and out of here can be crazy. I came here to pick up some cough medicine for my daughter since she can't stop coughing. It was on sale today for around $5.00 and some change. I also picked up some chips, a drink and some blistex for my dry lips. LOL! They have pretty much what I need at this location. It is clean here and things are easy to find since everything is labeled. Location is clean and there were three cashiers at the front who seem friendly. There are no self check outs here. There is plenty of parking in front. Just be careful crossing the street as cars speed in coming through here. They seem to have a lot on sale. You just have to look. Make sure you have your CVS card so you can get items on sale or else you will be paying regular price for stuff. read more

CVS Pharmacy - On sale! Good deal! - Drugstores Near Me - San Diego, California

This location has a brick and mortar feel if you like that. I personally do. The employees that work here have done so for a long time and so treat their customers like they've been coming for a long time. That being said, a newbie might not think this store is amazing, but this is a review from an oldie but goodie. I come here often because it's the closest to me and I know where everything is and what to expect when I arrive. If you're fancy, you may want to drive out a bit north to another as this one is one of those older locations that used to be Sav*ons back in the day...and didn't remodel. CVS prices in general are always a bit higher than other stores with similar household items. I'm always contemplating on where to stop considering Walmart is in the same shopping plaza. I usually opt for Walmart unless I need photos, something specifically pharmaceutical (prefer CVS) or I know of a deal they have going. This location is also never super busy...the max you'll probably see in line is 3 people. I guess depending on the day you'll have to choose what's more important, speed or savings. This CVS is located across the street from my house. You would think it would be a great convenience but I would rather wait to get into the Walmart or drive to a target to get the one item I need. Marco is horrible. Has no sense of what good customer service is. Every experience I've had with him is awful. And I'm done. I go to the counter with my item and give him my number because I know I have a coupon. He gives me a total and I asked about the coupon. He says it's not on there. I show him my phone that says it's on the card. And he just tells me that it's probably on another phone number. I told him this is the only phone number I have and he continues to stare at me and says well sorry. He needs a 101 on customer service. I said thank you and left without purchasing. I've never met anyone who was so uninterested in helping their customer. He's just rude and I would not have him behind the register even though he is a manger. read more

We had a prescription and even with our insurance it was going to cost $300 out of pocket to get the medication needed. We were shocked but did not have any other choice but to pay it. The technician Catlalli went above and beyond and found a coupon for $300 to cover the cost. Over and above for customer service in the photo department!! I usually print at Costco in Tijuana but due to time constraints, I had to print stateside. I partially uploaded my order to the CVS website and it said it wouldn't be done until the next day at 9am! I decided to call because in the past, CVS is usually pretty quick on printing. Genny answered the phone and told me it should be less than an hour. She asked my name and phone number and said she would call me back if she didn't see the order come through in ten minutes. I didn't hear from her until after 30 minutes had passed. THE ORDER WAS READY!! I went over to the CVS to pick it up and she already had it waiting at the checkout counter for me.... I saw some of the other reviews. It's true that this is not a great neighborhood. I don't think the employees can do much about the neighborhood. I have been to this pharmacy at least five times and every single time I've been here the pharmacists have gone out of their way to find me the lowest prices for my medications and the people at the front checkouts have been helpful and pleasant. This CVS use to be Long's at one point, this seems to be a reoccurring thing for me this trip, yet another place that use to be something than what it is now, anyways. I was sick and dying and went to the doctors, he gave me a shot in the A$$ and two different prescriptions to help keep me alive and evict the Mucinex's very own Mr. Mucus from my body. My father took me to 'his' pharmacy which was here at CVS. It was so cute the one lady working knows my dad and they had a long conversation catching up on each others holidays while someone else helped me. I was pleased they took my insurance, asked all the questions a pharmacy should ask for a new customer and told me it would be 15 to 20 minutes. The person in front of me was told a 20 to 30 minute wait. I'm waiting I wanted my DRUGS. So my dad and I peruse the aisle and I notice it's much cleaner and brighter and airier than Long's use to be, than I eye the boxes of Puffs Plus with lotion I'm about to grab some when I hear my name being called. Ten minutes hadn't even passed by and my drugs were ready. I think having a father who picks up here weekly moved my stuff to the front of the line and you know what I don't care because I got my drugs in under 10 minutes! Wow. We get better service from Walmart, Target, Rite Aid, etc. Unbelievable piss poor service. Watch out for this short old filipino lady at the front register. She thinks she owns the place. Giving us the run around just for store credit. Had to ask the manager? For what $14 for a return? She ended up doing it anyway. Always the same shit with this lady. Her name is Lolita. Watch out. Normally VA meds are mailed or picked up at the VA Hospital in La Jolla. But I was sick and wanted them without the wait or drive. CVS figured it out quickly and got me on my way! Medium convenient location, although traffic in and around Palm and Saturn can always be a challenge. Sadly the pharmacy is the most incompetent I have ever encountered. They auto- refill prescriptions that do not need to be auto refilled, AND set that auto-refill for a CVS that is 70 miles away. I've told them repeatedly to transfer the prescription to this location and stop the auto-refill and they say they will, but every month they want to auto-refill it again (although they did eventually transfer it back to the correct store). Several times a month I tell them to sign me up for text messages and they say they will, but they do not and it's been 8 months now. Instead, their stupid machine calls my phone and leaves a voice message but that message does not indicate which prescription(s) have been refilled so I've made several unnecessary trips. On at least two occasions they have shorted my prescriptions (15 pills short, and 8 pills short) but submit prescriptions to my insurance for the full number of pills. And the last time I was supposed to get some refills they called the wrong doctor (a doctor I had NEVER been to) and the refills were denied because I wasn't a patient there. DUH. I had to spend an extra 2 hours helping them understand their error, which they tried to blame on the computer but was obviously the fault of the moron operator. Today I showed up for two refills and one new prescription, and while they did have the new prescription ready the refills were not and they refused to refill while I stood there. Even more annoying, if I am trying to connect to the CVS website from my girlfriend's house less than 5 miles to the south CVS uses IP blocking to prevent me from creating an account, requesting refills and so on. I've tried speaking to customer service/CVS tech support and they were too dense to understand the problem. They kept asking why I couldn't log into my account. No stupid, I can't even CREATE an account because of your company's racist policies. So after today's debacle with the pharmacy I contacted two folks working the front register, hoping to obtain a phone number for their district manager. A gent who identified himself as a store manager offered to help me, but I indicated the problem involved two CVS's and it might be easier to speak to a district manager. Turns out the other store was in another district manager's territory, but the store manager refused to give me either DM's number. Basically, I was told f*ck you. Not word for word, but that's the translation. If people working in the pharmacy can't count pills properly, or call the right doctor for refills...what else are they f*cking up? Scary. 1/11/16 For 5 months I've been trying to get CVS to update my phone number (since I can't do so online because of CVS's IP block). No luck. A few weeks ago I learned that this CVS location committed a HUGE VIOLATION of HIPAA privacy laws. My old cell phone number (that I've been trying to change for months) got reassigned by ATT wireless, and that customer opened a CVS account with my old number. So all my info was illegally merged with the other customer's. Now I understand why CVS called the wrong doctor looking for a refill authorization for me, also why CVS refused to fill a NEW prescription of mine claiming it was "TOO EARLY." How could it be too early if it was a NEW prescription? Again, my info was merged. When I came in today I was a little bit surprised when I stepped up to the refill counter and was greeted with, "hello Mr. ....." they actually remembered my name! Impressive, but then about once a month now I've been in and talked to various managers about unresolved issues so it's not totally surprising they remembered me. Now if I can only get them to fix these "glitches." 6/7/16 update: Still haven't been able to resolve the HIPAA violation and merged account issue but most of the staff recognizes me by name and it's, "Hello Mr. H....." This is by far the worst CVS I have ever gone too! The service here sucks! Even the manager has a stick up his A$$! My son needed to use the restroom and they told him NO. There has never been a store to deny a restroom for a child. Instead of allowing him to use thier restroom they told my son to walk down to Starbucks and use thier restroom. Who would tell a child to walk out alone to another store.. They are all idiots, rude and disgusting people! i hate this store. The only friendly staff they have is the pharmacy. I literally had to get up and out of bed to write about the traumatic experience I had at this CVS this evening because I cannot sleep with it still on my mind....sounds like I'm being pretty dramatic - I mean, we're talking about an experience within a drug store, so 'traumatic' seems pretty extreme...unfortunately, it's the truth. The time it takes to write this review will most likely be longer than the time I actually spent in CVS the evening of August 15, 2019. I walked in at about 9:18 pm (I know this because as I walked in I was sending a text to someone so I have the timestamp). I had two items in mind that I had to grab, but I had a ton of coupons for makeup products from when I went in ONE DAY prior and spent about $82 so I decided to browse for a bit. I looked around to note where the products I had the coupons for were located and then I went over and grabbed a bottle of concealer - the color I normally wear by a company (Cover Girl) who I did not have a coupon for - and immediately took it to two shelves over to compare it to Neutrogena products, which I DID have a coupon for ... once I knew what "range" I was looking for I returned the original bottle and then immediately went back and stared at my choices... with me so far? Basically picked up a bottle, walked over two displays, held it up to the 3 colors I was considering when a store associate came up to me and said I needed to put the bottle down and leave the store now. Half dead tired from being up since 5 am and working on a ranch with horses from 7 am until 9 pm, I was dazed for a moment and was just like, "Huh? Me?" He said yes, that the Great and Powerful Wizard of Oz behind the camera saw me take something and I had to leave and if I wanted what was in my hand I could immediately go to the register to buy. I was absolutely shocked - and completely EMBARASSED! I didn't steal from them!! I opened my purse which had the credit card I was going to use, three pens, and a pencil sharpener - that's it!! (because I use it instead of getting a bag when at the store so I barely carry anything). I opened up my purse and showed him that there was nothing in there. I turned out my pockets and showed him nothing was there. I told him he was welcome to look through my bag. He said no that I just needed to go. And I said, no, you need to listen to me, I don't care what that guy thinks he saw, I'm not a thief, and I do not appreciate being accused of being one! I hadn't even been in the store more than 5 minutes! Literally the last text I got while I was walking out of the store was at 9:26 p.m. I told him, I'm 38 years old, I have no need to steal from friggin CVS and you are calling me a thief and a liar in front of all of these people and so if you won't clear this up, I want to speak to the man in the camera and show him my bag. Again the guy just kept telling me, no, you have to leave and was ushering me out the door (which was right there and where the alarm didn't go off when I walked out...because I hadn't stolen anything...). I had never been more shocked or humiliated in my life, and for a grown adult to speak to another in that fashion, to accuse me of something and not allow me to prove my innocence, and just the guy's general attitude about the whole thing is inexcusable. I called the store after and asked for his name, the manager's name, and the guy running the camera's name and the girl who answered the phone just went uuuuhhhh.....and then I heard the guy who kicked me out in the background say just hang up, don't deal with her. So, needless to say I will be calling back today, getting those names, editing this post to include those names, and contacting corporate. On the 14th - the day prior - my receipt said I had spent $450 this summer alone at CVS - obviously I won't be spending another dime there ever, not if that is how they train their employees to handle situations such as these and to accuse and embarrass customers this way. Once the shock wore off that the situation actually happened, I immediately went on Amazon to get what I needed. Screw CVS! They are too expensive anyways! I just wanted to give my local stores business, but never, ever again, not this CVS and not another one ever. You people should be ashamed of yourselves. read more

I was pregnant and they gave me an antibiotic that had a label on it to not take if pregnant. HELLO?????? I asked the pharmacists about it and she said "it should be ok" SHOULD BE OK????? WHAT??? My doctor´s office sent over a refill request for Tramadol, which I have been taking for over a year. I checked with the pharmacy to be sure they received the refill, since I've had problems in the past, and they did and told me it would be ready the next day. I received several texts to my cell phone that the refill was ready. I went in 3 days later and my refill was gone. The pharmacy said there was nothing there and there was nothing on the system. So now a controlled substance has disappeared. The pharmacy phoned my doctor´s office and got another refill after I had to call my doctor and tell him they lost my medication. What happened to my original refill? They treated me like some kind of nut. I reported CVS to the BBB and CVS's response was I didn't have any refills so they called the doctor and got me one. Nobody cares that my original refill had magically disappeared. I will never use CVS again. read more

Don't get your pictures developed here! They came out blue and discolored and when I returned to get them done right the clerk was very unhelpful and said she didn't see anything wrong with them and that it's probably a problem with the camera. They refused to reprint them. The camera has never had this problem and film developed elsewhere for years has never had this blue tint! read more
