I initially didn't trust SSI CVS after all the mayhem from the Brunswick store, and wanted to go to Jacksonville, but SSI's pharmacists proved to be competent and responsible. They understand accountability to a client who can't sit around waiting missing a daily dose. I appreciate their professionalism, relatively worlds away from Brunswick, and compared to my slacker CVS at home, more accountable too.

I was in Jekyll Island for a conference and we had candy at our trait booth. The attendees ate all of the candy the very first day and I needed to run out to the grocery store and buy more. I chose the Harris Teeter on Saint Simons because it was a familiar brand. I ended up getting a foot-long sub and had half for dinner that night and then saved the other half for another evening. I randomly was driving around the island and went to the Jekyll Island club, which was absolutely gorgeous. I went back the next day with my leftover sub from the hotel refrigerator and had a picnic under the beautiful several hundred years old white oak trees. It was such a special moment that I had to take pictures. It was an ideal picnic.

Although some aisles were blocked while employees stocked, many other aisles were clear and less foot traffic than other grocery stores. We easily found everything we needed and the selection was great. Checkout was really fast and no lines. Only one star was lost for the aisles being blocked and the tons of carts in the parking area. OUTSTANDING! SIMPLY OUTSTANDING!…read more Having been a longtime customer at another good and reputable hometown pharmacy, I'll admit that it took me a little while to check out the new guy in town. (I've since been reminded that Matt Donato actually IS a hometown boy who is just BACK in town after his apparently EXCELLENT education!) I have also used an additional pharmacy in town that offers the compounded meds that I have come to need recently. And they, too, were very good; however, they did not offer the regular monthly meds that I need. So, when I realized that I could get all of my prescriptions at one place each time, I was excited about that possibility. (Compounded medications are specifically made for each patient individually - think of the 'old fashioned' method.) This capability puts Matt among the elite. I walked in and was IMMEDIATELY greeted very enthusiastically! Jamanda is just a treat... and I've come to learn that she is equally efficient, knowledgeable, and helpful... with an equal amount of common sense and "hidden hints" that have been able to save me money more than once already! Matt came over right away also to greet me and see how they could help. After chatting with, and 'quizzing' him for only a few minutes, I was sold! I simply gave him a list of my providers, my previous pharmacy, and the details of my maintenance meds ... and THEY DID THE REST! Seriously ... I did not even have to make a single phone call, much less run to each of my providers all over town to wait for them to print out duplicate prescriptions, etc! Now THAT is CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ITS FINEST!!!! And each time I have called or gone inside, OR through the pickup window, I have been equally impressed! I have to say that I also REALLY, REALLY LOVE the ultimate convenience of having an app to use for requesting refills! It comes in quite handy 'after normal business hours' when it pops into my head that I need to run by the pharmacy TOMORROW! It's incredibly easy to use - and it allows me to see which of my meds are available for refill, the date that the next one will be available, etc., so it has helped me to cut down on trips to the pharmacy by allowing me to SEE CLEARLY exactly when the next one can be refilled, so I can simply wait a few days to request that one to be prepared for the same visit ... OR for FREE DELIVERY!!!  (There's that CUSTOMER SERVICE again!) The pharmacy that I used prior to Golden Isles Pharmacy was certainly adequate; however, after being a fairly frequent-flier after nearly 15 years, it would have been nice to be greeted by name once in a while. I truly cannot overstate the sense of thanks and appreciation I have for Matt and Jamanda at the pharmacy, and for Jennifer, who can always deliver with a smile! (I think THESE FACTS are sometimes even better medicine than what comes in the little bottles, especially for those of us who aren't able to get out as much as we would like.)
