Sometimes there are good prices and sales but they usually run out of items from the ads like the day after the sales begins. There is often only one cashier and they have to call for another because the lines always get long. The employees could be friendlier. The pharmacy staff here is so helpful and kind. I spoke to Ji on the phone after dropping off my medicine to her, and she went above and beyond to help me get my prescription at an affordable price. Don't bother with this location. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. My doctor sent in my prescription in the morning and when I called at 6pm they claimed my doctor never sent them anything and that there was no record of it. My medication needs to be taken at a certain time every day and I assumed sending it around 9/10am in the morning would give them enough time to fill it by 6/7pm since it was an emergency fill. I couldn't be more wrong. I called two branch locations and got the same answer, no records were found. It got to the point where I had to have my doctor paged and he ended up calling the pharmacist on his own time. My doctor had received a confirmation that CVS had indeed received my prescription. An employee there, Octavio, told my doctor that they had a system malfunction in the morning. Why wasn't I told this? It would have been the "professional" thing to do, instead of passing me around and having to get my physician involved and have him directly contact the Rx. Then, the employee has the audacity to call my doctor unprofessional for refusing to give him a verbal order of the prescription until the pharmacist tells me the situation and why my prescription was never filled. An apology was never said, and when I wanted to understand why their staff was so unprofessional and careless, I was ignored and Octavio would divert the conversation to getting my prescription filled. Most likely to get me off the phone and to cover up their mistakes.. at least I called before I went to pick my medication up. Huge inconvenience to everyone and a major headache. Finally got it filled, but I do not think the employee understands the frustration their negligence caused. For your patients, please please please get your shit together. The manager on duty is named Sadie, or something similar, but never got to speak to her since I was rushed off the phone.. I hope no one has to go through this. They store has a fairly good selection of merchandise but it's true that inside doesn't look clean and outside its filthy and looks dangerous. The employees are untrained, and completely lacking any customer service whatsoever. The pharmacy is different. The only reason I go to this CVS is because it's conveniently located across the street from my residence. However, that's the only pro. Yes, it has recently undergone a renovation, but there is a decided aversion to stocking the shelves. The shelves, regardless of section of the store, are usually mostly empty or empty. It's as if the manager is too cheap to order enough merchandise to keep the shelves fully stocked. Good luck if you want to find what you need or buy more than one of what you need. Haha. Where to begin with this place. Well, I will say this establishment makes a strong case for Gaia Theory in which organisms co-evolve with their habitat & where the habitat can be viewed as a living organism. In the case of this CVS the surrounding organisms consist of roaming hordes of people who have become homeless due to drug use. This lends credibility to Gaia theory because it's as if the accumulated use of drugs, probably mixed in someone's bath tub, by the orcish squaters in the front have in turn caused the store itself to deteriorate along with the meth addicts it shelters. The items on the shelves seemed dusty & untouched. When I was ready to pay for my water & snack I found myself waiting in a long line in between people that looked like they walked out of an old school Easy E video. One poor kid was working the front. He seemed broken & could hardly bare to look another human being in the eyes. & the whole time a Christmas toy was singing creepy carols in the background. The customer service is the worst. They don't give you your medicine on time and don't even notify you. And not even that the workers are the rudest and if you speak in Spanish they treat you rudely!!(family members speak Spanish) Also the workers never know what they are doing and make you wait hours or days for your medicine or tell you your doctor doesn't have the authorization. Why are they ALWAYS short-staffed in the pharmacy?!?! EVERY single time I go there I have to wait at LEAST fifteen minutes. Additionally, there is one woman who is short and rude on the phone. The people that work here are amazing they are super helpful the management is also friendly and helpful but the second you step out the doors all bets are off the place is constantly surrounded by beggars panhandlers drug addicts and crazy ass people. However, with the closing of the Sav-A-Minute market and the resources the City of Riverside is putting into this area, I can admit the riff-raff is going, going, going almost gone. Employees were polite and kind but when asking from what looked like the manager or higher position figure, a male with a goatee and dressed professional, how the money gram kiosk worked said follow the propmt really easy then go to the counter. Do not come here for your prescriptions. We normally have to use mail order but occassionally we have to use a regular pharmacy to get our ex. This is the closest one to our house and twice now out of the 3 times they said they didnt have anything called in for us when turns out they did. The first time I went in, they insisted it wasnt called in and my drs office had to call and yell at them about it. This time now, i get there and the two ladies behind the counter are bad mouthing someone and finally see me. The lady comes up and tries to help me and says they dont have the rx and kept insisting. I showed her the screen shot of the paperwork from the doctor and told her exactly when it was called in. She said oh we do have it but we didnt have the right birthday.. well yes you do. Oh did your insurance change? Yes it did. Oh well we texted you .. no you didnt.. well we dont have it filled so you will have to wait. Normally I can understand if there is a problem with the insurance but the fact that they didnt call us or text us to find out really made me upset. Beyond that the store is ok. Everyone is friendly but they have a hard time keeping stuff stocked. read more

Terrible customer service I came in for an item that was on sale and trying to use my coupon. The customer before me did the same transaction they took her coupon and left but once it was my turn they didn't accept my coupon the cashier "Susanna" didn't know what she was doing she asked another cashier which didn't even greet me as she approached me had terrible attitude so they called someone else to help all my time wasted terrible customer service very disappointed never again stopping by this store. read more

I have had enough of their harrassment for me to pick up a med that I don't need for another 2 weeks. I called the number to stop the calls and I still got them. A pharmacy tech even resorted to calling my husband's cell phone looking for me after I blocked them from my phone. The harrassment is beyond belief and I will no longer get my perscriptions there. Terrible customer service, from management to staff. Many 30-45 min wait at pharmacy pickup. Rude staff telling me to call to make my own approvals, which every other cvs pharmacy has done for me. Handwritten sign declaring that no pharmacy pickups from 5-6 pm. As new to Riverside, my medication is very important to me since my doctor is further away, and now I have not been able to get my prescriptions. Am changing to another cvs pharmacy, but be advised. Taking to pharmacy manager only confirmed that she is the problem, since her staff said that she was on more important phone calls. Rude and will not have my business. read more

This was the worst experience i have ever hadd at any drugstor ever. I went in to the cvs buy 7 quick pick loto tickets. I put my mony in the loto machine and the machine froze on me. It took about 10 minutes for a sales associate to come over and help me and the store was pretty dead at the time. It was a thursday november 5 around 5 pm. Anyway the sales associate thentold me she could not do anything so she proceeded to go get the manager. The manager came and told me that there was nothing she coyld do it was a lotto problem so she could not refund me my money. I asked if there was any way to get my money back and she replied it would be a a lot of trouble she would have to call the ca lotto and that would be to much. So she told me to get some scrachers in stead. I told her i was uninterested in scrachers what i wanted was a refund so she replied that i could get a scratcher or nothing i left the store. It's a shame that this is the closest CVS to campus. I am going to advise everyone to not come to this place alone, especially at night. Security is pretty much nonexistent, so plenty of undesirable people regularly hang around outside or wander around inside the store hassling people for money, drugs, you name it. The fact that they even allow these undesirables to loiter inside the store makes me very uncomfortable. I don't feel comfortable in this place by myself, so I think from now on I will try to go to it as little as possible. Furthermore, if I do need to come here, I want to spend as little time there as possible. However, the slow customer service makes that difficult to accomplish. I was told I needed to wait 30 minutes for my prescription. After that, I was told it would take another 20 minutes. As soon as I got my prescription, I raced out of there as soon as I could and jumped into my car, locking it immediately. It will not surprise me one bit if a crime takes place at this location one day. read more

Store isn't understaffed, But the cashiers are. I like this store, I just hate waiting in like for 10 mins to purchase my items. Also not everyone is a thief. If I could give this pharmacy a negative star rating I WOULD! This pharmacy is literally the worse pharmacy I have ever dealt with in my life. The techs are to lazy to check if prescriptions have been called in. I had to call pharmacy a couple times in regards to my prescription after they kept telling me nothing was called in by my doctor's office which it was a few times. When I finally told them, Im not going to call my doctor's office again, but it has been called in, they finally put me on hold for 5 minutes.... to find, surprise! It had been called in!! They filled the prescription over a week from its original called in date. I wont even go into detail about another time they had me going back and forth between drop-off and pick-up lines for a prescription called in a week prior in which they never called my insurance to authorize, resulting in me having to jump from line to line and still wait over an hour. Needless to say, I gave them 2 chances to conduct business as a "normal" pharmacy should and they failed on every level. Seems like I'm not the only one because both of those times there were several people in line complaining about how much they hated this CVS pharmacy and how they constantly have problems with them. Lets not even get started on the people ALWAYS outside of the store asking for money or harassing customers. CVS does nothing about them. This CVS needs to reopen under new management or something. I will be voicing my complaints to the cooperate office. They have definitely lost a customer. read more
