I think the reason for so many bad reviews, stems from people in general being used to immediate attention, let's pull in and get my medication right away...Attached is a Google search as it relates to the lack of pharmacy personnel not including off course the PIC, and NO! It's not the Pilot in Command (aviation) I am referring to (PIC) the Pharmacist in Charge, who's probably having a hard time finding help at the Paoli CVS to expedite your prescription. I will add yet another bad review. When there are so many, this is probably not that helpful. I will just recount some of the issues with a recent visit. Came to CVS to pick up a prescription after a phone text said it was ready. Cashier at drug pick-up said there was no such record. Then had to wait in a different line to deal w a gentleman who had access to the computer system. Don't know what he did but he said it was put through, and 15 minutes later the prescription was miraculously ready (mind you this was after having to wait in 2 separate lines to deal with this matter, the segue was not smooth). Also had scheduled a vaccination thru my online account. Checked in for my appointment thru my email when I arrived. Then, to be sure, also did so with the gentleman at the computer. After having a lot of difficulty finding my account, finally told me everything was in order and that I was all checked in. Then waited and waited as several people seemed to go ahead of me who had arrived later than I had. 30-40 minutes laters, I was suspicious I was not on the list and asked the woman giving the shots if I had been missed, when she came out and called out for yet another person. She went back into her room to check and lo and behold came out and took me next. No explanation or apology. As you can see, many things can go wrong here at this CVS. I made a vaccine appointment in advance and after I checked in, they canceled it due to no inventory. then when I tried to get the vaccine at walgreens, I couldn't because CVS had already billed my insurance. I went back to CVS and NO ONE could figure out how to help me. Everyone was just foisting the issue to another department. It was so incredibly frustrating and indicative of the ineptitude of the American healthcare system. So disappointing, will NEVER be coming back. read more

Terrible in all ways. Terrible, slow pharmacy that always needs to close for various reasons, crappy looking store, they're always out of things, and the lines are INSANE. Go to any other CVS Pharmacy, and honestly, all CVS's are bad lately, which is why they are losing market share at a rapid pace, but this is one is so bad, that even though it is 5 minutes from my house, I go out of my way to go to ones that are further. This is our closest CVS so we have a lot of experience with this location. The late-night staff is very laid back and funny. The pharmacy staff seems really stressed and snappy most of the time. While some of them have been kind about explaining things, or pointing out tips about meds, others have been really short for no reason, other than to blow off some of the steam they must garner from locals all day (who are not very emotionally responsible themselves, as I have witnessed). So it's back-and-forth on almost every experience here. One up, one down. I do have to comment on the clinic though, because while it may be a good idea, it's pretty lame in practice. Against better judgment, we attempted to try the minute clinic one weekend. For me, there are issues that seem to always crop up when I finally relax on Fri or Sat after a long hard week, when my body finally allows itself to rest. Often, they're not issues for which one can wait out the weekend until Doctor is in again on Monday (sinus infection, etc.), and sometimes paging them takes a long time for a call back. So this one time, I got the crazy idea in my head to try the clinic. Bad decision. There were two teenagers waiting there, and it appeared they were treating the clinic like Planned Parenthood or something. I don't mean to say it provides services that PP does, I mean only to say that it allows these kids to seek medical attention without the presence of a parent. They, and we, sat for 40 minutes, while muffled voices came from behind the closed clinic door. After all that time, the girls were still ahead of me, so we finally gave up, and left. I had my doctor paged and was given meds later that day. "Minute Clinic" is not quick by any means. No one was responsible to update anyone on their wait, nor even greet the people waiting. There is a sign-in computer pad, which estimates your wait time, and that machine is a total liar, WITH pants on fire! If they have only one nurse handling people here, they need to rethink that. The actual experience is completely contrary to the concept they present in their ads. read more

I started going to this CVS about a year ago since it's 5 min from our new house and I regret ever going here. I usually just suck it up and come here because it's so close and I don't want to drive further but I'm so over this place. There have been so many times that they don't run my prescriptions through my insurance and they try and charge me over $100 for something that should only cost $10.. customer service sucks and most of the workers in the pharmacy can't do their job. Only thing I will add is that most of the actual pharmacists are very nice and professional, but the people who check you out are not. I do not recommend this CVS. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! They rip you off and suck overall. Really hate this place and feel bad to give them a 1 start but they don't deserve anything higher than that.. read more

The young man behind the counter was extremely courteous but that didn't make up for the fact that this place was a disaster. THIS CVS IS A DISASTER if you are using it for your Pharmacy. I moved here from Connecticut exactly 1 year and 1 month ago from the time of writing this review and have been using them as my pharmacy. Well, I have had some horrific things in my past causing me to need several psychiatric meds after alot of hardcore treatment and have been in therapy for the maintenence of my meds to ensure they keep me a productive, even-leveled person. I am 32 just about 33, good physical fitness, good job in finance, very close with my very large family, and when I moved, I was able to easily change my Primary Care doc, but since i had been seeing my Psych doc for a very long time and he saw me through the worst of the worst (has repeatedly told me that my life has experienced so much more than anyone he's cared for in his 42 years of practicing. He is a very prominent man in the field of psychiatry in New England and beyond, so he is a man who knows his stuff and I have been with him since i was 17 or 18 years old - thats 15-16 years straight. Before moving here, I made all the necessary arrangements to ensure the prescriptions would have no issue being from my out of state doc, and it isn't any issue since CVS is able to see that I have been on the same medications for years. But the pharmacists are not good people. The TECH'S ARE good people. But the Pharmacists are a disaster. FOR EXAMPLE - I take very heavy medication (I'm on 5 but 3 are very heavy doses of powerful meds) and my doctor tells me every time "make sure you never see empty bottles," so I always refill on the 27th or 28th day of the cycle - this CVS pharmacy will not fill meds until day 30 at 10am. One of my meds can send me into seizures without it 2x a day....and THEN they sometimes need to ORDER it causing another day of being very sick. It's very dangerous and I've been on this medication regimen for almost 9 years now...it's no joke. **** There is one in particular pharmacist....a pudgy Asian dude who refuses to fill some of my medications even when my doctor calls them in.... and this pudgy Asian pharmacist will leave me WITHOUT PSYCH MEDS SOMETIMES FOR A WEEK!!! I mean, I am not a nut, i wouldn't go murdering people or something crazy like that, but how many more others does he deny their own medication to??? People who VERY WELL MAY DO SOMETHING NUTS LIKE THAT! There is so much more I can tell you but just please know, it is one of MANY pharmacies in this area and this is the one to avoid. Even though it's a 24 hour one, think honestly, how often do you get your meds at 2:30 am? Also, this guy wouldn't honor my vacation overrides when I was going to be out of the country for WORK and my MOTHER had to made a weekend out of it and go get them, send them and hope they found me on time! I am not going to Walgreens for the first time in my life. And I have a bad heart too so I have been on meds my whole life and ALWAYS used CVS. Now, I change it all. They are absolutely horrible. Staff is extremely rude. They have lost prescriptions, gave incorrect medications, unable to complete electronic prescription refills. The wait time on prescriptions even when called a day ahead is over 15 minutes. The only reason I choose them is because they are open 24 hours, but it is not worth it. read more

****5 star to the employees BUT ZERO stars for the pharmacy! ***** This cvs is right down the road from me and I go there often. The employees that work at the cash register are funny and very friendly. Even the night shift workers are happy and smiling which is nice to see. They ring you up fast and are also helpful. They carry on conversations with you to make your trip there enjoyable. HOWEVER!!!..... The pharmacy I have dealt with a few times and they are horrible. They seem to hate their job and are rude and snobby. The guy that works the register mumbles and you can't understand him. I had to pick up medication from a work incident and he made it very difficult. They said it was ready after waiting for a long time and I walked up and then was told their system apparently went down and he mumbled that I couldn't get the meds bc of the system being down so I replied well when can I get it and he looked at me like I was stupid and said well not now... pretty sure that's not the response you should give a customer. I won't be dealing with this pharmacy anymore I'll be going somewhere else. So I recommend not even bothering with the pharmacy. read more

Terrible customer service at the pharmacy. Several people were having problems with errors or delays with their prescriptions.

We have used this "1776" location for 20 years. Learned tonight that they are now enforcing expiration dates on reward dollars. They said they instituted this 4 months ago. Prior, only coupons were enforced. I'm sure this is a corporate issue but I did not appreciate learning this when I presented $25 of reward dollars. You get my frustration. Lack of flexibility is pushing me to Walgreen's around the corner. read more

As an employee of a local medical office I am appalled at the quality of care that this establishment offers. I have attempted to phone in a prescription multiple times for a patient that the pharmacists have "not received". So when I attempted to call and speak directly to a pharmacist I was on hold for over 15 minutes. This prescription was vital to the patient and was most likely deleted off of the pharmacy's prescription voice-mail. After much frustration I ended up advising the patient to take her business elsewhere and that she didn't deserve to be treated by incompetent and irresponsible pharmacy staff. I would never recommend this pharmacy to any of my friends, coworkers or patients. read more
