This store has decided to close the back entrance to the store that has the only available parking lot. They have the most and worst decision to close that interest because of the elderly who are able to park there and walk through there. There's no parking in the front on the main street so be aware also. It will take you about 30/45 mins to find parking near by due to this decision. read more

Went here at 1 PM on Saturday to pick up something for work. The cashier with all the piercings and spikes in his face needs to be retrained. He's beyond rude and has no manners whatsoever. I was talking to my boss on the phone and indicated that I was using Apple Pay. He told me to get off the phone and go to the back of the line. I proceeded to hang up the phone and asked him. why is he giving me such an attitude. He didn't have an answer for me. Being in Customerservice myself this is unacceptable. The pharmacist who spoke to me was rude and actually was yelling at me. This is not my regular local CVS. But I had to go here to pick up hubby's RX's since he just got out of the hospital there in Palo Alto after having major life saving surgery. Today I went in for a prescription. The poor workers are over worked but still providing great customer service. My prescription was 90 dollars all though I have full coverage insurance it was not showing up. I said I would just pay for it since I was in pain the employee did a few things and was able to get me a great discount. All the employees were great and there were some customers who weren't very patient but the employees helped them the best they could will definitely come back read more

I was picking up my prescription, have a GoodRX coupon that reduced my cost by $4. Clerk and pharmacist annoyed when I asked about it, repeatedly emphasized that it's "only $4", almost not believing that I want that discount. $4 for some may be nothing; but for others, it's a lot. I was brought up to save and be smart, and never judge about one's ability to afford something. As a matter of principle, their judging pushed me to insist that they reprocess my prescription at the $4 discount that's published at on the coupon. Perhaps it's a generation gap, but my salary is likely well over ten times hers, and I care about the $4 discount, doesn't she? Why would CVS bother with the frequent $2 reward coupons that streams out on their printed receipts if people don't care about it? What upset me was the way the pharmacist and the clerk judged and questioned me, and then trying to trick me to accept it by lying that this is the cost from insurance deduction. What they don't know was that I am a physician. I know this prescription is not covered by my insurance. I therefore used the GoodRX coupon. Sadly, I will keep coming back to this CVS out of convenience. They virtually have a monopoly in our area. Whenever I can, I use my mail in pharmacy. read more

I can't say enough kind words about their pharmacist Ray. He is so understanding, compassionate and really goes above and beyond. It's so rare to find these types of pharmacists especially in places like cvs, Walgreens etc. but he has made this cvs a pleasant experience. Just came from CVS on University and had to write a review about my experience in the store. The Operations Mgr "Maged" a kind and gracious gentleman who provided a wonderful experience to my husband and I when shopping there for some items. Interestingly, we had just come from a restaurant where our experience was terrible and thought that if they had had Maged greeting customers at that restaurant- life would be amazing walking through the door. I'd give 0 stars if possible. The pharmacy consistently staffs one slow, inept, inefficient pharmacy clerk at the busiest times of day leading to absolutely ridiculously long lines and wait times to pick up a simple prescription. There are most times 7-10 people in line, with one clerk, who takes a minimum of 4-5 minutes to help each person. Meaning you're looking at an absolute minimum of a 25 minute wait if you go in anytime after 4pm. Typically it's much longer. read more

Tl;dr: The pharmacy made a mistake and I had to pay $243.20 for it. I went to get my COVID booster and flu shot. I've gotten all my vaccines previously at CVS for no charge, so I assumed it would be the same again. I checked in, they took me back, I got the shots. Only after the fact did they realize they didn't figure out my insurance situation. Turns out, I wasn't covered with my plan (Kaiser). But I couldn't give my vaccines back, so I had to pay for them out-of-pocket. The one redeeming part of it was the employee who tried to get me discounts, even suggesting to run me as uninsured, since I didn't have viable insurance, but the pharmacist refused to do it. So I was left footing the bill when it was their mistake. If they had told me beforehand that I wasn't covered, I would have cancelled my appointment. Instead I got trapped!spending a day's wages on an unexpected expense. I'm a broke teacher, and that is not a small chunk of change. And all the pharmacist could offer me were paltry "sorries" -- no solutions for THEIR MESS UP. Never going here again. Absolutely horrible. read more

I hate to leave a negative review, but this CVS is down right a one-star award winner. I travel to Palo Alto for work fairly often and as such I need to make runs to CVS for forgotten goods or snacks for my teams. Every visit something is incorrectly priced, rings up wrong, and requirements manual review. Half the time they still don't get it right and I need to physically show them the signs with the matching SKUs. Otherwise, it is a rundown CVS that is a mess. Avoid at all costs for photo printing. I went to pick up an online order and the poor singular employee of the store was trying to manage a long line of customers so I waited for him to be able to assist. He kindly rung up my order but when I saw my poster I noticed squares on the side. He said I would have to speak to the photo manager. Waiting another 10 minutes I let Dolores know my concerns and she claims my image had the squares and there was nothing she could do. I am told to speak to another employee and show her that these squares are on both sides of the poster board and therefore couldn't be part of my image and she finally offers me a refund. I ask if I can keep three discarded image and she rips it up in front of me citing company policy. Biggest waste of 40 minutes. I will never return read more

It's conveniently located in a fast-paced area where a lot of people get something to eat, relax, and have meetings. What I thought was interesting in this CVS was that the customer service here was above average. Today for the first time I brought prescription from my oral surgeon after wisdom teeth removal. It was not good service. My prescription is really simple and no line at all there. I said I would wait for medicine and a pharmacist told me it would take 30 min. After 30 min, I went to a pickup booth and another pharmacist told me it would take another 30 min. I complained I had already waited 30 min, but she insisted it would take another 30 min. then I said ok. then, 5 min later, my name was announced and I got tablets. Leaving my current review below and thought I'd update. This pharmacy is literally the worst I have ever been to. I was told that my prescription authorization request would be sent over to my doctor from the staff yet it was not. I reached out to the pharmacy 2 days later because my refill was not filled and to my surprise they did not reach out to my doctor. When I asked why the person I spoke with couldn't tell me but submitted the request again or so they say. The expectation was that they would take care of my needs 2 days prior but clearly this pharmacy just doesn't care which just confirms my initial review. The staff in the store is friendly and conversational but the pharmacy is complete opposite. The staff just seems like they loath being there. None are very personable and each interaction with them is uncomfortable. I recently relocated to the area and in my old pharmacy the pharmacists were kind, carried on a conversation with you, and knew your name. The environment and staff in this pharmacy is one I would never want to subject anyone to and anytime I have to get my prescription I dread having to go. They also take forever to get your prescription to you and just move at the pace of a sloth. read more

Absolutely hopeless! Was told by pharmacy to wait 15 minutes & they'd call me when my prescription was ready. I waited 40 minutes, went to the counter & it turns out it was ready & they didn't bother to call me even though I was the only one waiting. CVS stands for "Cost Very Significant". Now I realize that they charge more for things but there's a certain convenience about getting the items immediately however last night was a real eye opener. I looked on the CVS.com website to see if they had a product and sure enough they did but in store the product was almost 10% more expensive and when I asked at the front counter if they would match the price they said well some stores would but they won't. I understand they may not be able to match their price to Amazon but you think they could at least match their price to their own website. By the way they are almost 200% of the Amazon price. To make matters worse the item was on a weird sale where buy one and pay regular price, buy 2 get the second 1/2 off. I only needed one so I was paying the regular price but I had a coupon however the coupon could not be applied to the regularly priced item because the item itself was on sale even though I wasn't able to take advantage of the sale because I only needed one unit of the item. This has locked my resolve to buy more stuff from Amazon and really never to shop at CVS again. They could at least match the prices on their own website or accept coupons when you're not benefiting from the sale that is on the item. read more

This was the first and last time I'll ever try to get a prescription filled at this downtown Palo Alto CVS pharmacy. I dropped off four simple prescriptions to be filled and was told to come back in a half hour. I returned and went to pay and they brought out the filled prescriptions and when I went to pay and the assistant said the pharmacist had forgotten to sign off on one and the couldn't complete it and let me pay until he returned. Obviously I wasn't happy about this as I was already running late, and then the pharmacy assistant was incredibly rude and loud, saying it wasn't her fault. And when I pointed out that she was being rude, she became even ruder until another employee called her out. UNSANITARY! Didn't use gloves. My prescription was suppose ready on Monday. By Wednesday it still wasn't ready. The person said I can wait 15 min, and I came back after an hour... and it's still not ready.
