I am a person who would give 4 or 5 stars to a decent place but if i am giving 1 star that means the service was horrible and definitely the business should take action against that employee or fix the issue. I had 103 F fever and i order Oximeter and Infrared Thermometer for pick up at this location. When i reach this place, i called in to see if they offer curbside pickup (which usually most stores do these days) and the gentleman who answered the call said no i have to come in as he has to scan my order in order to give me. I told him the reason i am asking is coz i am sick and I don't want to infect anyone inside. But he asked me to come in. I walked in and i was 2nd in line and the gentleman i talked to is talking to guy in front of me for at least 5 mins and that too family stuff. Nothing related to business. He is asking you still remember me after so many years Blah blah Blah... i didn't have energy to stand and i am leaning on one of the shelves putting my head on it as i could have fallen down as i had no energy. This gentleman tool good 5 mins or so to chit chat with the guy in front of me. When my turn came, he said sorry for the wait l. And asked me whats the name of pick up and handed me over the bag. There was no scanning involved ( which he told me on the call) and i walked out. People like this should be cognizant of the others condition and prioritize things accordingly. I did get the name of this gentleman but my pickup was on 5.29pm on 08.24.2022. If not taking an action against him at least he should be trained properly handled situation. read more

Its your usual cvs nothing special nothing out of the box. I think cvs needs tk work a little more with their employees satisfaction. I think their employees are just over worked or exhausted. Every cvs I go to the employees are helpful but I just dont see them happy or smiling. Hopefully they will start something for employee satisfaction as well read more

CVS Pharmacy - the front of a cvs pharmacy - Drugstores Near Me - Palatine, Illinois

I have been to CVS pharmacy a few times for a covid test and the drive through service was really helpful. The pharmacists have been nice and explained how the process works. The plus point was not having to get out of your car so don't have to worry about getting exposed inside. The results sometimes took a while, about 4-7 days but that's understandable with the amount of people that get them done everyday. The pharmacist explains over the intercom how to perform a self swab and they watch you do it. There is also a disinfective wipe to use on the box to clean after you drop off the sample. The entire process takes 5-10 minutes. The only tip I have is to make appointments right at midnight when the new timings open up and they only show the next three days at a time. So that can be tricky to schedule because the locations fill up fast and then you set up a My Chart account online to view results after they email you. read more

My prescription that I requested to be delivered was cancelled with no explanation why and it is Imposible to get a hold of pharmacy over the phone tried multiple times and stayed on hold over 30mins, one time I called and after waiting a while they just hung up. read more

This CVS Pharmacy in Palatine, Illinois on Smith and N.W. Hwy should be a ZERO! By far, the most chaotic, unorganized and incompetent Pharmacy I have ever seen. Continuous LOST Prescriptions, weeks of unfilled auto refills, wrong dosage and the list goes on. CVS Corporate does not care after numerous calls into them letting them know the major problems going on there. All the Pharmacist are FLOATERS and not permanent employees, then when they finally do hire a permanent Manager that person quits within a few weeks. I am running to switch all my prescriptions to another Pharmacy. I can no longer trust them with my medication refills. read more

Called pharmacy at 8:30 pm. Was on hold for one half hour with no one picking up. Called on another line to front of store and was informed the pharmacy closed early with no explanation as to why. Furthermore was hung up on by front of store employee when asked to speak to manager. Will be transferring my prescriptions from this terrible store. read more

All the reviews are spot on about the pharmacy staff. I had never dealt with the pharm staff until this week. I went in for an over the counter medicine that was on sale. Where the medicine should be, there was a sign that said they had it at the pharmacy to pick up. It made send because it's quite an expensive item so I walked over and proceeded to wait five minutes while the Pharmacist & Pharm Tech talked about dating & relationships in the back. They paid no attention to the front counter and I failed at getting their attention. When they finally did see me and two other ladies waiting, literally five minutes later, the tech asked what she could help with while the pharmacist just stood in the back not helping the other ladies. I told her what I was looking for, a very common over the counter med and she started checking the prescription bags because she thought I said a name. I said it's actually an over the counter med. She said oh, no, I don't see it, without looking. The pharmacist came up and I asked her about it telling her the sign said it was at the pharmacy. She had no idea what it was either (strange for such a common med again) and then said nope, it wasn't back there. I said, "Oh....that's strange....because...the sign said to ask the pharmacy..." as my voice trailed off. Pharmacist just looked at me. She finally said after a long awkward silence - well, I can call someone from the front. Anyways, someone came from the front and they ended up having it behind the front counter. She said they had to change that sign as it was obviously wrong but the pharm staff was clueless & pretty rude. Thank goodness the people in the front seemed to give a bit more of a crap about their customers. Summary, I'm never ever going to patronize their pharmacy. We recently went online to find a product at cvs.com. We found it and this CVS store in Palatine had it in stock. The online price was $24.99. When my husband went to pick it up they charged him $30.99. He went back to the store and they refused to give us a credit. The manager told him they do not match THEIR OWN online prices!! I returned the product and will NEVER shop at a CVS again! PS: I found the same product at Amazon.com for 21.99 and will have it delivered to my home tomorrow! No more CVS for us! read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE POLICIES!!! I recently purchased Cover Girl mascara for approximately $10 from this CVS. I opened it up to use, but the product smelled awful. Since I needed the mascara I held my nose and decided to give it a try and hope for the best, but the application was poor and the product was dried out. I decided it was a junk product and put it away to return once I was in the area again. One week later I went to get a refund for the defective product with my receipt in hand. The counter person seemed puzzled that I would return an opened product. ‍ She seemed to imply I was at fault rather than it was my right to return a defective product to CVS. She reprimanded me for having opened it and used it. I explained I'm only bothering to return it because the product was defective...and yes, I had to try it first to find that out. She then barked at me "WHERE'S THE BARCODE???" I explained I didn't know what she was talking about, but I had kept the receipt for the return...but now she said she wouldn't accept the mascara without this barcode which apparently is only to be found on the original package which was taken out with the garbage. I find it ironic that CVS gives you yards of unnecessary paper on their ridiculously long receipts....but not the necessary information for clerks to accept simple returns!!! She told me because I didn't have the original package (again it's all my fault) with the barcode she couldn't refund the mascara. Then she then looked up the closest CVS with that barcode in stock which was in Barrington. She told me I would need to drive to Barrington (40 minutes round trip plus store time...so another 1 hour out of my day at 7PM) to return my $10 mascara!!! She told me I better do it now while it was still in stock!!! Simply said...their Customer Services is nonexistent!!! read more

I've come here a few times during the day & the staff have been pretty rude & unhelpful. I went to the pharmacy to ask for something & they told me they didn't handle that stuff & to ask the person at the front. When I began to ask the person in the front where I could find an item they told me they didn't have it before I could even finish by question. On multiple times I have come in here & been treated with an attitude. I simply walked out & went to Wal-Mart. While the staff can be rude I have been here a few times at night where the staff was nicer & more helpful. The location of this store is also very convenient. Overall this CVS has some good prices but for the way I have been treated here I will not come back unless I really need to. I feel Walgreens or Wal-Mart a couple miles away has the same if not better prices & I have never been treated rudely at either store. read more

I took a Covid test on Jan 6, 2021 and received my results in a message that said they could not process the test because of errors. I needed that test for an international flight by Jan 9. I then spent four hours on various calls to the customer service center in India (this was 100% worthless) and other stores (mine was closed) to get a another test quickly. That was extraordinarily frustrating since they have no clue what to do. The next morning I went to the store I had my test taken and the employees said they were "powerless" to correct the error. But they were happy to pawn me off on the same number I used the day before. So this time I tried using the CVS phone system a different way. I just LIED about it not being a Covid call since they make it IMPOSSIBLE to speak to a human being with Covid questions. So I finally get an American operator and he says in another 30 minute call he is "powerless" to fix CVS's error, that I need to reschedule another test and in so many words if I miss my flight that is too bad. I asked him to take my record since if I had to pay out of pocket to see a private physician to take a private test I would take them to small claims court or have my corporate attorney file suit if I missed the flight Please note that there is not other test for a week within 30 miles. And my flight is in 36 hours. Additionally, I m watching the Covid test window for 15 minutes in that store and not one person showed. I could have been tested in that window. I then get a business number to call (they of course are closed) and a promise a District Manager would call me. He didnt. No one at CVS owns the customer experience or cares about the customer well being. This is obvious Summary - CVS botched a basic Covid PCR test result - No one at CVS felt it necessary to take personal responsibility to fix the problem that was time sensitive. The buck passing between five or more employees was simply dizzying. - No Covid tests were actually administered the store I was in for the 20 minutes I watched to window. I could have been eqasily tested if their systems were not so archaic or rigid. - CVS's District Manager did not return calls as promised. Another show of total disregard to customers. - CVS's policies and procedures are so rigid they make customer service impossible. There is no focus on doing right for the customer, only on honoring a rigid, archaic system that provides for no flexibility in the moment. - I had to pay over $800 for a private PCR test or miss my international business flight. I will be in court on this. My corporate attorney has offered to assist. This is about principle at this point. And fraud (see below) - One of the operators told me that CVS WILL STILL CHARGE MY INSURANCE COMPANY for the failed test. This is simply fraud If you need a Covid test in a timely manner AVOID CVS. Their inability to correct obvious wrongs and their lack of care for people's situations is just astounding. read more

Love this CVS! Staff is pretty friendly, I am a regular here. The only reason I'm giving you guys three stars, is because i feel like you guys sell expired stuff just to make the extra money. I bought a power rade and as I'm drinking it, I realized it expired on December 1 2014.. This isn't the first time I've ran into your expired snacks/drinks.. It's totally un-cool, and maybe just keep a better eye on expired goods. Other than that, I'm happy shopping here! Next time, I'll just make sure my product isn't expired. I am actually surprised by the low review here. I found this CVS to have ample parking, easy to find and even close to the Palatine Metra if you need to grab something as an emergency. It also is a large location, they even have souvenirs here. I came here to purchase some migraine medicine and even found a manufacturer's coupon dispenser right next to the product. When I was checking out the checkout lady was even kind and giving me advice about migraine and which brands are good. No issue here whatsoever. read more

All the people there are very friendly and helpful. The main reason I go there is because of the excellent Pharmacy Staff...Dr. Woo Kim is always there to answer any questions I may have and really takes the time to get to know you on personal level to see if there are any underlying cause's to whats going on. I could not agree more with these reviews! I have yet to have a pleasant experience at the pharmacy!! Rude and clueless are the perfect descriptions for the Pharmacy service and it is consistant!! Prescriptions are rarely ready, they say it was just called in when in fact, it was three hours ago! How do I know? My husband called it in!! The pharmacist a few years ago was Woo Kim and he was great! Very helpful and personable. Also took extra time to answer your questions. The staff they have now are clueless and rude. Not friendly, no customer service skills, and they couldn't even answer a basic question about an over the counter medication they store back there. I knew more about the product than she did. I asked about something being gluten free and I got "I don't know" with no other information. I will be changing my pharmacy. read more

When Dr. Wu was at the Smith/Northwest Hwy pharmacy, this place was the greatest! I used to send CVS compliments on their employees. NOT NOW! Pharmacy employees are barely professional, make mistakes, seldom smile and don't even open the drive-up window at the pharmacy! They expect you to shout through the window, twist unnaturally to turn and hand them your cards and money when they stick out their hand for it. The sliding tray isn't working???
