I have been a satisfied customer of this DME business for 20 years. Dave is the owner and rock. He started this company in Palatine and has now added a second facility in Urbana, IL. He (and taught his staff) knows DME and the crazy Medicare requirements that affect acquiring appropriate DME with Medicare/ObamaCare/Private Insurance, etc. Unlike other DME suppliers, this company actually HELPS persons with disabilities get things done. This is my latest experience with the company: I had 5 (FIVE) DME issues that I could not physically (due to my disability) bring into the shop. The Service Manager, Stephen, came out for nearly a full day to: 1) Replace batteries on my scooter and other minor issues, 2) Disassemble and repack another scooter, 3) Took apart and lubed my "new" stand-by wheelchair that is my backup if my main chair fails, 4) Went over my main wheelchair and made sure that everything was tight and functioning properly, and, finally, 5) Set up my wheelchair weight scale (that I purchased online) so that I can accurately report my weight to my doctors. There are so many DME companies out there. Most just sell you the products they have. They don't understand the FULL SCOPE OF DISABILITY. This company is different--it educates disabled consumers and helps them make the right decisions. My mom needed a replacement for her walker. I needed same-day service, so I went to MedServe. We have used them before. Abdul, the Mobility Specialist, spent at least 45 min Helping me look through the options. There was one with a deep rose-colored frame, which we chose because gray is so blah. Then added a snap-on tray. My mom needs the tray to carry things from the kitchen to the table, etc. With a simple mechanism, the tray can be lowered so the walker can be folded. Coming here is way easier than trying to shop online, because you can see right there what is available. Also, they service what they sell. read more

I have a new baby and was in need of a breast pump to prepare for going back to work. If I want insurance to cover it, I need to order the pump through an in-network medical supply company. MedServ Equipment Corp is in my backyard and I try to support local businesses whenever possible, so they were my first choice in ordering my pump. After having the pleasure of speaking with Julie today and being told that the 100% coverage on any E0643 pump, as quoted by multiple people at my insurance company, is "a load of crap," I need to take my business elsewhere. I understand how insurance reimbursement works and that everyone needs to watch their margins, but that doesn't mean you need to sacrifice customer service or cop an attitude with customers on the phone. And for what it's worth, I was able to accomplish in five minutes on the phone with Edgepark Medical Supplies what I couldn't do with five separate calls to MedServe Equipment Corp. I also saved myself $150 in out-of-pocket costs by taking my business elsewhere. Thanks, Julie! read more

I just ordered my breast pump for my first child.. "Luba" is the person I spoke to when placing my order. She told me I couldn't come pick it up until the baby was born so they could submit the claim to my insurance. I found this weird because everyone I know ha their pump with them in the hospital for the provider to show you how to use it.. but ok. Today, I receive a voicemail that the pump is at the store and I can come get it. I called back and was told now I can come get it and just to call when the baby is born so the claim can be submitted to BCBS. "Luba" proceeded to tel me that, "I pressured her into ordering my breast pump, and now we can do it this way." First of all- excuse me?! I did not pressure you to do anything. I paid $150 for this DME. Second- poor customer service. You're telling me contradicting information and then blaming me. Third- not one person I know didn't have their equipment before their child is born- I don't understand why it wasn't ok at first but now it is to come get it.. I should have went to another DME company or bought and submitted the claim myself. As a manager who works for a Healthcare organization, this is really inexcusable. I will be getting my pump and never coming back. read more

Dave the owner and Julie the office manager were extremely helpful working with my insurance company. But were they earned my top rating was after one week of using my new machine Dave the owner was very diligent in reviewing my results and noticed what seemed to be an abnormality. Dave suggested I should contact my doctor and have a update study done. I did exactly that and it was determined I needed a different treatment/modality. Dave hit the nail square on the head and did what others, medical supply companies and physicians were not able to do, catch this abnormality. I could not be more happy with Medserv and staff. Jack and Alex were very nice. They looked at my power wheelchair for free after someone ran into it with a car in a parking lot. Luckily, my wheelchair was fine and didn't need any repairs. It is hard to find wheelchair repair people these days, let alone honest ones. They said that they do home repairs or can pick up/drop off wheelchairs that need repairs. Someone recommended them for wheelchair repairs and I will go back to them for my future repair needs. They gave me quotes for new batteries and wheels for when I need them; and they seemed reasonably priced. The store has a lot of random medical equipment, like kneeling couches, and home health aids. I believe that it is located in Palatine, not Deer Park, according to Google Maps. But the street address is correct. It is in a small strip mall right next to a horse riding equipment store called Saddlers Row and is not labeled clearly. It's on the opposite side (the farthest left facing the stores) of a barstools store. It is wheelchair accessible and has ample parking. read more

Dave and Alex had me up and running in about 15 minutes after overnighting a part for my manual chair. It's hard to find someone to work on a manual chair when traveling so I feel fortunate to have found this business. Alex also tuned up the rest of the chair and I think it works even better than it did when it was new. I don't live in the area but do come through often and will plan to bring my chair in when it needs service again. Super service and reasonable prices--it doesn't get any better than that! read more

The guys were very helpful getting my dad a nebulizer. My dad is very ill. I felt the lady that worked there took advantage of my sister to sell her an oil diffuser claiming it could cure his COPD for $80. I found it very inappropriate. read more
