This is not my usual store, but I stopped in to pick up some post surgery supplies for my mother. This is closest to her location. I was having difficulty holding a big pile of supplies when I approached the counter. They took my money, but wouldn't give me a bag until I agreed to pay extra for the bag. If this is the policy, it should be posted at the store entrance. Reusable bags should also be available at the counter for purchase. Neither is true at this store. I paid for a crappy disposable bag that they wouldn't accept back for recycling after I moved my purchases to the car. But It would have taken me 3 trips to get it all out to the car without a bag. Then they refused to give me a receipt for my purchases. The clerk said no one gets a receipt unless he calls the store manager to come over from his office, and that might take a while. I didn't have time to wait so I left. But after I saw my mother she said she wished I'd bought the larger size on one item. No chance to exchange it at the Northbrook Walgreens because I have no receipt. This is the most unfriendly Walgreens ever. We can only hope it is on the company's short list for locations to be closed.

I want to give them the…read morebenefit of the doubt as it seems like they are a small, family-run business, but their staff is consistently rude, rushed, condescending, and somewhat unprofessional. Every time I visit or call, the atmosphere is chaotic and staff doesn't know what's going on, they can't keep track of prescriptions, they can't keep track of orders or shipments, they put you on hold and forget about you, they forget to charge you or charge you twice.. I don't know what's going on here, but they are 0/4 positive experiences for me now, so I think I will be switching pharmacies.

Huh? It's for my sick wife. Are you telling me not to buy the prescription for a sick person? Stunned, I asked her if it went through insurance and she said no. So I tried giving her my insurance card and she said I needed a different one for pharmacy. I wasn't aware of this but this was my fault I told her I would come back and I pulled over to call my insurance and they get me to the pharmacy coverage rep. I pull back into the drive-up and the rep said it's probably better just to give my phone to the pharmacy to provide the info they need which when I suggest this to the pharmacist, she gives me the biggest sigh and rolls her eyes at me. But reluctantly took it and spoke with the rep. After getting off the phone, she tells me I need to go to the back of the line. No explanation just go to the back. What? The rep on the phone says, she needs to run it through the system so it could take a few minutes. Ok that makes sense. Just would've been nice to be told that by the pharmacist instead of just go back to the end of the line. There's only a couple cars in line and not a big deal. By the time I get to the window, I give her my card to pay and she's obviously pissed at me (huh? This is all part of your job), takes payment, gives me my prescription without saying a word and off I go. Her attitude just sucked the whole time. I get that you feel like you're busy and you're in a bad attitude cuz you hate your job. I get it. You know what's worse? Trying to keep 3 kids under 8 quiet and behaved in the car for almost an hour waiting to get a prescription for your sick wife.

Today it was filled in just about two hours so much better except for the 15 minute wait while they figured out how to enter the instance card into the system. Seriously this is what you do all day and you takes 15 minutes and two separate people to get it to work? No wonder things are always so far behind and slow here! This incident left me thinking that other reviewers may have the right idea as to what is happening at this store.

Before placing the order, I checked local store availability and saw that the Wheeling location had 3 boxes in stock. I chose in-store pickup, and my husband picked up the order from the Wheeling store on 7/3/25. Unfortunately, 2 out of the 3 boxes turned out to be expired. Since the Wheeling store only had those 3 boxes at the time of my order, I had no option but to visit another Walgreens to exchange the expired items. I went to the Glenview Walgreens at Pfingsten & Willow. I found 3 unexpired boxes on the shelf and brought 2 to the counter for an even exchange. The manager, Mo, initially said exchanges had to be done at the original store. After I explained the situation, he agreed to sell me 2 new boxes at the same discount and eventually accepted the expired ones for return at Glenview, saving me a frustrating third trip. Both the associate and Mo were polite and handled the situation well, even though the issue wasn't caused by their store. I gave them 5 stars for customer service. That said, Walgreens should do a better job checking expiration dates. There was still a box on the Glenview shelf expiring 7/31/25. Just a heads-up to check dates before buying!

Out of all the Walgreens stores that I have been to, the one in Deerfield Square stands out as the…read moremost pleasant one to shop at. This Walgreens is large and airy, bright and clean, with a more upscale feel to it. It is fully stocked. One big advantage of this store is that it is opened 24 hours a day! Another factor that impresses me most is the store's management. It has not just one, but two very nice and helpful managers. It had happened that I had clipped a $9 digital coupon online. Its requirement was to spend $40(or $30?) in a Walgreens store and I would get the coupon when I checked out. However, it didn't happen even after I spent the required amount. Long story short, the female manager was very nice and helpful, she apologized and manually added a $10 credit to my Walgreens loyalty account. When I went home and checked my Walgreens account online, I didn't see the added $10. So, the next time I went to this Walgreens, I talked to another manager, Sergio. The female manager had gone for the day. Sergio was very patient, kind, and helpful. To our surprise, he found that I actually had two accounts with Walgreens (apparently a mixed-up done by the pharmacy of another Walgreens), one with a slightly different name. The female manager had somehow credited the account that I did not know I had, and therefore did not actively use. Sergio gave me the phone number of their tech support department that could help me eliminate one of the accounts (that I will call, I promise). When I was checking out, he rushed over to make sure that I could apply my $10 credit without any problems. Kudos to Sergio! Now, as I know that I have two accounts, I am mindful to tell the cashier which one to use, until I can get one eliminated, or get them combined.

I ordered a bottle of shampoo online from CVS, pay for it, said we'd be in the next morning to pick it up which wife did. It turns out they didn't have the shampoo I ordered, so they substituted something entirely different. So I called the store, explained my situation, and was given over to "the big boss." Big boss was neither polite, helpful, or the least bit courteous. He asked if I had a receipt. I had the bag the shampoo came in but there was no receipt in the bag. I told him we picked this up from you this morning and it's the wrong product. Can you not manage your website? Do you not have it people? Do you have stock people that can interface with the IT department? "We're sorry we can't help you," Boss said. Quite honestly I wouldn't step foot in a CVS pharmacy again unless I needed a medication and Walgreens was completely out. Even then, I would do so reluctantly.

It's very small compared your average CVS, only 2 aisles filled with emergency items such as over the counter medications, gauze, medical cream/Vaseline etc. No food, beverage or electronics here. Most employees come here to pick up their prescription or if they need some medical supplies for emergencies. Great overall service, the pharmacist is very willing to answer all your questions. Very convenient when you are an employee at Allstate Northbrook. They close at 5pm and during lunch hours.
