Out of all the Walgreens stores that I have been to, the one in Deerfield Square stands out as the most pleasant one to shop at. This Walgreens is large and airy, bright and clean, with a more upscale feel to it. It is fully stocked. One big advantage of this store is that it is opened 24 hours a day! Another factor that impresses me most is the store's management. It has not just one, but two very nice and helpful managers. It had happened that I had clipped a $9 digital coupon online. Its requirement was to spend $40(or $30?) in a Walgreens store and I would get the coupon when I checked out. However, it didn't happen even after I spent the required amount. Long story short, the female manager was very nice and helpful, she apologized and manually added a $10 credit to my Walgreens loyalty account. When I went home and checked my Walgreens account online, I didn't see the added $10. So, the next time I went to this Walgreens, I talked to another manager, Sergio. The female manager had gone for the day. Sergio was very patient, kind, and helpful. To our surprise, he found that I actually had two accounts with Walgreens (apparently a mixed-up done by the pharmacy of another Walgreens), one with a slightly different name. The female manager had somehow credited the account that I did not know I had, and therefore did not actively use. Sergio gave me the phone number of their tech support department that could help me eliminate one of the accounts (that I will call, I promise). When I was checking out, he rushed over to make sure that I could apply my $10 credit without any problems. Kudos to Sergio! Now, as I know that I have two accounts, I am mindful to tell the cashier which one to use, until I can get one eliminated, or get them combined. read more

I've been a veterinarian for 44 years. I have never dealt with a worse pharmacy in my entire career. There are no voice prompts to leave a prescription. You're put on hold for an inordinate amount of time, then get someone that does not speak English well and can't understand what you're saying. Disconnects or hangups occur. I will never use this Walgreens in the future. read more

My concerns about the inefficiency have been proven true, time and time again. Now, they have been slow and unable to fill an important prescription. I have been in touch with my practice about this, and they say they sent the prescription. I then call WG back (waiting on hold) and they say they never got the prescription request. This has been back and forth for three weeks. They are extremely hard to get ahold of and have not been able to do simple things like confirm filling a prescription. read more

When visiting the Deerfield area, this Walgreens is my go to store to pickup necessities or items that I may have forgotten to pack in my luggage. The store is open 24 hours and is close to hotels. The location in the shopping center means I can stop at the bank and restaurants so I don't have to spend a lot of time driving around the area. Recommended. read more

This place is an absolute shitshow. I came in to pick up a prescription, which my doc's office had called in about 30 minutes before got to the pharmacy. I wait in line about 10 minutes and then find out that it's not ready and I should take a seat and they will call me. All good up to this point. I get that they are busy, and I'm fine waiting my turn. But, I set in that seat for 40 minutes without being called back to the counter. So I back in an even longer line, waiting about 15 more minutes, only to find out that my script had been filled and ready about 2 minutes after my first stint in line. This is the worst Walgreens I have ever been to. The employees are just standing around majority of the time. They constantly have sales tags up by items but when you get to the register it never rings up the correct amount and then the employees just stand there looking at you confused when you ask them about it until you just pay full price or walk away because they're not helping at all. I don't know if they need someone to come in and train them how to actually put items on sale instead of just putting tags up. read more

The people that work here are utterly incompetent. I went to deposit money onto my chime account, and to different employees. Couldn't figure it out. I was explaining to them how to do it, something I shouldn't have to do, and they still couldn't figure it out. when I expressed that I was in a hurry, the clerk made some snide comment to me. Is it weird that I'm becoming obsessed with this Walgreens? I mean, if I could give the staff in the hair/cosmetics area more than five stars I would. This is the only Walgreens I'll be stopping by in the future. They've earned me as a dedicated client. I took my son in for some hair/face stuff for teenage face/hair drama, and I have to tell you not one, but two people were so completely dedicated to helping us find a product that might help him out. He's on acne medication that is causing his hair to dry out, and so we went in looking for a particular hair product he did some research on. When we couldn't find exactly what we were looking for, both employees were reading labels on bottles, searching through their database, and doing everything they could to help us! Wooooow. We are trying a new natural shampoo/conditioner that was recommended to us. And, get this, we were told if we are unhappy with the product we can return it within 30 days! I literally felt like we were in an upscale department store. The level of service was off-the-charts amazing. And this is not the first time. This is not the typical Walgreens experience you might expect. Clean, well-lit, and everyone masked. Even my teenage son, who rarely says two words to me, said, "Mom, this place is amazing! Everyone is so friendly and helpful!" And there you have it. Located next to Whole Foods if you want to pick up some healthy groceries in the same stop. Large parking lot. read more

No call back option. When a rude over worked representative finally answered, i asked to speak to a manager. I received "Our offices are closed now" message. Walgreens management obviously has no interest in serving it's customers. Even at the phone level where they don't hire enough employees to handle call volume. read more

Have been using this Pharmacy for 15 years.... Unfortunately, horribly mismanaged and understaffed, lacking basic generic medications... line is always 5+ people long, and there is only one counter opened. Management wants to transition to mail-order model and encourage patients to leave. This is sad and heartbreaking. read more

I don't understand how a Walgreens that is basically located on top of their headquarters can be run so poorly? No one seemed to care or notice over 25 people waiting in 2 lines for pharmacy pick up and for vaccines. Not acceptable! Walgreens please fix this problem by properly staffing your pharmacy and having more than 2 people working the pharmacy counter - one for prescription pick up and one for vaccines. It's 10:30 pm at night on Thursday and no other pharmacy is open. But there's also no other patients here. Yet we've been waiting for over half an hour (now after 11 pm) while the grandparents are watching our young kids. And still waiting... sorry, but this pharmacy is a joke. Changed their phone so it goes to call center rather than pharmacy and yet the call center never is able to resolve issues. As I have seen in other reviews, they regularly are not able to refill prescriptions when they are due. One of the least responsive locations in the State. Im writing this both as a patient and prescriber. It's a miracle if i ever am able to reach an actual person to speak with and many of my patients have been left stranded because they were out of stock of their meds and never notified the prescriber or patient until they came to pick up the med and made to wait for a long time. Several times i went during daytime hours and waited for an hour only to find out they were out of stock. Went in with my wife for her Tdap and exact same scenario. Both times we had made appointments online ahead of time and still had to wait around an hour. We finally ended up going to the Glenview location. Seems like the pharmacy is severely understaffed or just incompetent. Walgreens needs to take a serious look at their management at this location! read more

Utterly incompetent pharmacy staff. They have a standard schtick Nearly every time a patient calls for a refill. A receptionist asked for ones name birthdate and the name of the refill requested which she can never pronounce and has no idea of the medical significance of. She then tells you that you will have to hold for the pharmacist and places you on. " a brief hold."" During which time you have the privilege of listening to annoying elevator music. The pharmacist apparently picks up the phone periodically, then put it back on hold without saying a word. Period you end up holding for 20 to 40 minutes depending on your patience, never speaking to the pharmacist And never receiving your medication Unless you physically return. This is the same story for "auto-refills" which are never automatically refilled, and online refills. Total waste of time.! read more

The main computer department which helps customers is in Deerfield Illinois. However, I live in Van Nuys Ca. I called the phone number for computer help to check my prescription s on my app. The girl who answered told me she could not help me and disconnected me. Walgreens in store service is very good. However, the IT department is not helpful. I still need to get my prescriptions at Walgreens but I just manage my prescriptions. They get one star and are not helpful. read more

This Walgreens is spacious and laid out in such a way that I felt perfectly comfortable in this time of Covid/social distancing. I had gone in for greeting cards and was pleased with the large selection. Randomly an employee asked if I needed any help which was appreciated. All employees are wearing masks. The cashiers are behind plastic partitions and are pleasant and efficient. Finally, their rewards program is incentive to make your purchases there...in a good way. read more

I come to this Walgreens a lot because it's 24 hours so I can go early. I will NEVER be going back. There's a very elderly man that works the register that is nice enough but VERY pushy with opening a credit card every time I'm there. Last time I was there he asked like 3 times and said he needed it to win some contest. I told him my credit was froze and he said it doesn't matter so I just did it so he would stop harassing me about it every time I'm there. When I was leaving he said take care of yourself "both of yourselves and pointed at my stomach". I'm not pregnant. I can't have children. This horrid old man needs to go through training on how to talk to people or not work anymore. I'm Heartbroken. Walgreens needs to do better at who they hire. read more

The staff of this location are very attentive and very friendly. Jack is very knowledgeable about the products and where I can find things I am looking for. Very friendly and always keeping busy. There is nowhere I would rather go to have my photo needs taken care of because I can always count on Jack. I have had many other friends and acquaintances give jack praise for his customer relatability and product knowledge. The other staff members: Brian R, Margaret, and the others are also very competent as well. Ahhh, a Walgreen's that doesn't pretend it's a grocery store! This is where my family and I did our traditional New Year's Eve Walgreen's stocking stuffer run, and found everything we wanted, from the Bark Off! (As Seen On TV), to almonds, to Reese's, to Men's Health magazine, to light bulbs, to Ramen noodles. The one thing we didn't find were tiny airplane bottles of liquor, but that's probably for the best... Drinking in Walgreen's could end in disaster. read more

The people who work in the pharmacy here are actually really helpful and great. The people who work in the general/food part clearly need a new job. If you don't like working there so bad then quit and find something you like better. I have continuous problems with Brian and asst manager steve who just need to find employment where you don't have to be so rude to customers and maybe even like a little bit of what you do. read more

Don't do business with Walgreens! By 78 year old mother purchase a gift card for me for my birthday. But I received the gift card it showed it had not been registered. My mother bought one gift card and had one receipt, apparently an employee at the store switched out the cards however Walgreens is taking no responsibility... Here is the response: The card that was purchased and the card that the customer provided to us do not match. The card that was purchased was successfully activated and Kohl's has confirmed that the card has been redeemed. Unfortunately, there is nothing our gift card processor can do to assist. It's really hard to separate all the bad Walgreen's experiences I've had but in my best effort I will try. On the good side, I like that this location still has all the cool kitchy stuff. They still have good sized beauty, seasonal and card departments (as opposed to other locations that want to be more 7/11's than drug store). On the not so good side, the pharmacy personnel are more often than not, rude and unhelpful. Plus if you are in a hurry and need your prescription ASAP don't come here. This was my situation the other day and they very rudely told me that they require 90 minutes to fill the prescriptions. Ridiculous! She basically told me that I should know better than to just come into the store and expect my prescription to be filled. I actually thought that was their business. Guess I was wrong. read more

I like that this is a fully stocked Walgreens with food, liquor, health and beauty supplies and seasonal items. This place gets pretty busy and generally they are pretty good about getting more cashiers to the front, sometimes as many as three to handle the crowds. I'm not convinced that this new savers club is such a great deal since I've been shopping here for years and even since the beginning of the club, I've only accrued $5 in points. That's mostly likely due to the fact that only certain items give you points for purchases, and they are very few items indeed. As for the staff they don't seem to be very engaged with their job, sort of flattened in affect and robotic in their approach. Since I work with customers all the time, I know it takes effort to make your customers feel valued. These people are basically going through the motions. Went today for a blood draw and while I don't hope to ever need one again, I would go back here in a second. In and out in about 15 minutes. It's a LabCorp in Walgreens and takes appointments. Friendly staff and like any other lab minus the long lines. When my doctor wrote the script I went to the medical office lab. Lots of coughing people waiting and I was told up to one hour wait.
