Follow up my previous review. I called 1-800-SHOPCVS and spoke to Joseph in customer relations. Yes, you can actually easily reach and speak with a real human! Such a rarity nowadays. 5-stars to CVS for that. The representative shared my experience and connected with the store manager, Don. Don called me later that day. Terrible experience at this pharmacy drive-up. Came to pickup a prescription for my wife because she's sick. Person immediately says, "are you sure you want this? It's really expensive." Huh? It's for my sick wife. Are you telling me not to buy the prescription for a sick person? Stunned, I asked her if it went through insurance and she said no. So I tried giving her my insurance card and she said I needed a different one for pharmacy. I wasn't aware of this but this was my fault I told her I would come back and I pulled over to call my insurance and they get me to the pharmacy coverage rep. I pull back into the drive-up and the rep said it's probably better just to give my phone to the pharmacy to provide the info they need which when I suggest this to the pharmacist, she gives me the biggest sigh and rolls her eyes at me. But reluctantly took it and spoke with the rep. After getting off the phone, she tells me I need to go to the back of the line. No explanation just go to the back. What? The rep on the phone says, she needs to run it through the system so it could take a few minutes. Ok that makes sense. Just would've been nice to be told that by the pharmacist instead of just go back to the end of the line. There's only a couple cars in line and not a big deal. By the time I get to the window, I give her my card to pay and she's obviously pissed at me (huh? This is all part of your job), takes payment, gives me my prescription without saying a word and off I go. Her attitude just sucked the whole time. I get that you feel like you're busy and you're in a bad attitude cuz you hate your job. I get it. You know what's worse? Trying to keep 3 kids under 8 quiet and behaved in the car for almost an hour waiting to get a prescription for your sick wife. read more

Willow Road CVS in Northbrook--DON'T GO HERE! I waited in the drive-through window line for 10 minutes. Finally got to the window and waited another 7 minutes before someone came to the window. When they opened the window, no "sorry for the wait", no nothing. I told her I had been waiting 15 minutes and she said I was being rude. I was rude??? It's extremely rude to make your customers wait 15 minutes in line with no explanation and no apology. Customer service in this country has really gone down hill. This CVS doesn't care about their customers at all. read more

I needed a very important prescription filled, and I spent over an hour on the telephone, trying to get through to the pharmacist at CVS in Northbrook. Nobody ever picked up the telephone. I finally got in my car and I drove up to CVS, there was nobody in line in the store when I arrived I Explain to the pharmacist what had happened and instead of apologizing, she basically told me we are all human, and there are only three of them, they can only do the best they can do. At 2:30 in the afternoon she told me the prescription will be ready in an hour and I am sitting in a parking lot at 4:30 in the afternoon killing time waiting for it to be done. I tried to contact corporate, but I got the same response I did when I tried to call the pharmacy, no answer I could stay on hold forever. Absolutely terrible customer service. read more

This CVS is a little confusingly organized, but the customer service is really nice and they had what we were looking for-- gift cards to movie theatres and restaurants. Plus the coupon program at CVS is really good! read more

I usually steer away from this place because I have had TERRIBLE customer service from previous visits. Specifically in the photo department. I returned today because I needed after hours medical attention and they still SUCK. Even at the med clinic. The staff were ready to head home - not interested in assisting. In all fairness she did say she could answer questions. But I'm ill and need a Perscription for my throbbing inflamed throat. First time -Shame on them Second time - Shame on me. I stop in this location multiple times a week. I am not greeted by name, but always greeted with a "hey, how's it going". (I am a regular customer, and pretty laid back, so I find this very welcoming). Every employee here that recognizes me stills asks if I found everything ok, and still apologies for long waits on busy days. When they still sold tobacco, they simply asked if I was buying some, and got them with out asking what kind. They truly remember and create a personal experience for their regular customer. When ever I need help, the person working there always walks me over to where the item is and points it out rather then giving an Isle number (when staffing and time is available) On my last visit, I needed to go to the clinic for pink eye. There was one patient in and one ahead of me at the time. I was in the store and out with in 20 minutes. The nurse on duty was very nice and even had my prescription ready and waiting at my pharmacy which is on my drive home. I now prefer to drive the 20 minutes to give this CVS my business rather then the CVS a block away from my house. I really think CVS needs to find more employees like the ones employed here. Will come back over and over. read more

Went in for an awful stomach ache. Dr. Nguyen said it was an upset stomach and to have more fiber. Except I eat tons of fiber a day and it lasted 11 days. Charged me $80.00 for it. Save your money and put it towards tums. What a joke it was. read more

I was in the CVS store on 936 Willow Rd, Northbrook, to pick up an online order on April 18, 2022 around 5:50 pm. The staff at the register (the name on her tag says Stephanie ) was rude, inpatient, and disrespectful. I go to this CVS location at least once a week with usually good experience. This time, however, left me with bad taste as Stephanie was ranting in front of my face, such tirade behavior that I don't understand what was wrong with her. She told me to wait as she was helping another person, and I said that was fine and I could wait. I don't even know what I said that she didn't like. She told me not to mothering her. Another customer told her to come down, and then she started ranting to him. While we said that we need to talk to a manager, she said that she's been the manager for nine years. In order to provide a better customer services, CVS should consider to have a different manager for this store. If the store has security video tape, the management team at the HQ should watch it. read more

the automated system for a prescription refill was contacting me multiple times a day. I did not want to refill. there is no number to push on the phone to opt out of this annoying crap. the system required me to call another number to opt out which I eventually did and after waiting an eternity I hung up. get this f**** thing fixed. after 20 plus phone calls you might think the customer does not want to refill. you would think. read more

Had the absolute worst experience here. Had booked an appointment for covid testing, since it was needed at the time for travel. Which I needed in order to visit my sick grandmother (I had a flight the next evening in order to visit her). Anyhow, I had pulled into the lot maybe a minute or two after the said schedule time for my test. The woman doing the testing had someone else in the hut. The lady exit the hut and returned to her vechicle. So I waited and never received a call or anything. So I had decided to call the pharmacy only for them to say that the ones doing the testing are apart of a third party company and they do not have a way in contacting them. (Which was bizarre considering that they have a whole set up in the store) that says minute clinic. Right after I finished talking with the pharmacist. I received a call stating that I did not show, and had to reschedule. I called the number back only to get one of the most inconsiderate rude woman, throwing out how she seen me come and I went right inside knowing I had to stay in my car. She also stated that she had cancelled the appointment and would have to reschedule for a different day. I explained to her I was leaving out of town to visit my sick grandmother and is there any way she can take me now. She said NO! Not my problem, then presumed to say to me "your people are all like that and are never on time." Not sure what she meant by MY people. I'm not sure (well pretty much don't want to believe) if she was looking at the color of my skin and making assumptions about me, which I presume so. I'm not sure how or why this individual is associated at all with CVS especially if she's making these assumptions about me. Lord only knows how many more people (of color) she has said or done this too. I will not be returning here. Especially the way I was treated. Quite honestly it's pretty disappointing and disgusting that someone like this is representing CVS/Minute Clinic in such a negative light. read more

I don't like this location quite as much as the one in Highland Park, but I don't really have any complaints. The other store seems to stock more of the items I am usually looking for. They don't keep it staffed as fully as other CVS stores, so you may have to wait a second for the cashier to walk up to the counter. The employees at this store always seem to be really busy doing a number of jobs. They are polite and friendly, and the store is immaculately clean. read more

Shopping for two things...bottled water and Liquid Advil. Both were way over priced. Ended up at Dominick's. The water was 60% less expensive and 33% less than CVS. read more

really great customer service at the Pharmacy! They are prompt with dispensing prescriptions!

This is our pharmacy purely because of proximity to our home and because we travel often and require our records with a national chain. But the pharmacy staff at this Northbrook location is very inconsistent with their service. They're friendly and polite but things fall through the cracks here too often. Every couple months they end up calling our older, unused doctors by mistake, delaying filling until we call to find out what the delay is and end up setting them straight. Twice they've called to say an order is filled and then leave us waiting at least thirty minutes because they forgot to confirm with the doctor. Shouldn't they have figured that out before calling to say the order was done? read more

I agree with Abi. Great customer service. The Pharmacy and Pharmacy techs do a great job of explaining everything and they get you in and out quickly. The staff also does a great job if you need help finding something. I also love that CVS uses carpet. It makes the store nicer. read more

I generally don't like CVS. I felt like they totally encroached on Walgreens territory without bringing anything really new to the mix. Anyway I got an urgent text someone at home was having an apparent allergic reaction, this CVS was right there. Patient had never had allergy medication before, I have had plenty of experience, but this was someone new .... I basically asked Astima in the Pharmacy for free advice, she gave it quite liberally, and showed me exactly where in the store the items were stocked even though it meant leaving her station. Wish many more places had folks like Astima to help them out. I won't mind so much coming back to this particular CVS, but the rest of the stores in the area still have to do their work to impress me ;) read more

Their pharmacy is the worst!! I got off a plane and called them to refill a prescription right after I called a taxi. I waited 20 minutes and was still on hold when I got in the taxi. It then took 20 minutesfor metoget home and I was still on hold. I hung up and dialed the regular number and waited on hold for 5 minutes. I told them what I needed and asked shen I was picking it up. I said in 30 minutes. Their response is well we are really busy. I got in the car at 6:00 pm and am STILL sitting here at 7:30. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. Walgreens is so much better but insurance makes me come here! read more

Inept pharmacy workers. Dr. called in a prescription, went to go get it an hour later and they didn't have it ready. I asked when the doctor called in and they said only five minutes prior to me getting there. They told me I'd have to wait another 20 minutes. Pharmacy always seems sorely understaffed. Typical lines at drive thru. Biggest complaint is calling and trying to get somebody live. I just waited 25 min and then gave up. No live person got on at any point and asked me to wait or gave any sense of how long the wait would be. Not the first time this has happened. People are nice but there's obviously not enough of them. read more

They don't "deal" with bcbs so you can't use that insurance with them. They are extremely disorganized and inefficient. Use Cvs in glenview, or better yet use Target down the road. read more

All I'm going to say is that most of the time that I come here the staff is friendly. There is one woman at the pharmacy that is simply rude. Not just one time, but every time. She simply has an attitude, each and every time. It's a shame that one person can ruin my experience here so much. read more
