When a saliva hormone test was finally recommended, it revealed significant hormone imbalances. Concerned about my lack of progress, I sought a second opinion from a physician at Cleveland Clinic. The physician ordered blood hormone testing and explained that regular hormone monitoring--typically every 3 months when starting hormone replacement therapy--is important to ensure both effectiveness and safety. This approach and ongoing monitoring were never discussed or offered during my consultations with the pharmacist. After switching to a new treatment plan under my physician's care, I experienced more than a 50% reduction in hot flashes and night sweats within the first month. This improvement highlighted that my previous treatment plan had not been adequately addressing my symptoms. For women seeking relief from menopausal symptoms, I strongly recommend working with a qualified healthcare provider to develop and monitor a treatment strategy. They follow up with me on my medications to make sure I'm taking them, and whenever I ran out of a medication before and needed a refill quickly, Kayla and Jan would provide that for me on the same day. Jan helped me many times resolve issues with my insurance and doctors and she was very patient and professional in her conduct. Kayla is the nicest person you can ever meet; I had surgery and couldn't walk, and they had an issue with deliveries at the time, so Kayla personally delivered my medications for me, twice. She's very patient, and she genuinely cares about patients and goes the extra mile, she goes way beyond what you expect to be dictated in a costumer policy, her job is personal to her. The staff is nice, very helpful and knowledgeable, never had to worry about refills or missing doses, and I just read online that AHF pharmacies are a not-for-profit healthcare provider, and that a big portion of their earnings go back into serving patients and communities with a focus on HIV patients.
