Well, it might just be me, but Giant Eagle in Fairview is just okay, you know like meh. I have lived in Fairview the last 15 years, within walking distance to the store, so one would think it would be my go to grocery store...nope. The store is never fully stocked, the seafood department closed during COVID and is stocked with frost covered items. The ladies at the check out are competent and nice enough but there is no urgency on a busy afternoon or the lines are way too long. When I need something last minute, I will run to this location, always hoping for the best. read more

If you shop the items in their weekly circular, you can save some good money. However, at regular prices, their items are priced very high. I would have given five stars if it had better pricing. What really bothers me is the isle clutter that takes place during the day by stockers. I love this giant eagle. Everything is always stocked and fresh. In addition it has a Starbucks and a great hot foods selection area. I have ordered curbside pick up a lot and they are better than any other one in terms of getting things right and communication. My hats off to the "Big Bird" Giant eagle North Olmsted. My wife and I spent all day in the yard and could not agree on what was for dinner on memorial day no less. All week long I kept seeing a sign pulling into GE for barbecue ribs $14.99 a slab fully cooked. So I went in bought my wifes pain patches and continued to smell ribs while shopping. I said to myself ,you know what I cant make ribs myself for 14.99. Further if I could why would I at that price ? I picked up a pint of potato salad and cole slaw and was done ! The ribs were fantastic! Do not believe that ribs cant be as awesome coming from the supermarket. I will get these again and again at this price. Nice job Giant Eagle North Olmstead. read more

I am medically exempt from wearing a mask and the governor even states in the order that the mask mandate does not apply to medical exemptions. Giant Eagle needs to stop cheating their customers when it comes to clipped coupons. Today was the last day to use a clipped coupon I had for the Magnum Icecream bars, but they had already removed my coupon from the clipped section when I went shopping for it today. I took a picture of this coupon, since it has happened to me before . This is second time they have removed my clipped coupon this is how their system is set up, don't think their computer is taking off clipped coupons on the day it is suppose to expire.I had till 04/29/2022 to use it, bizarre it was already removed in the morning . read more

The pharmacy is run quite efficiently by a qualified staff that genuinely seems interested in their patients well being. They are extremely helpful, competently answer any questions, & if there is something they don't have they'll order it for you and get it as quickly as possible. This grocery store is probably the best in the area! The prices are a little more than other stores, but as you walk around, you will soon find out why... 1st of all, if you have children, they have a child care area in the front of the store furnished with not only toys, but also about 6 or 7 computers for your kids to play educational games... There is a dry cleaners which is extremely convenient... And the selection is great! If I need a specific type of herb, or seasoning, etc, and I can't find it other places, rest assured that I can go to this Giant Eagle and find it! A big bird with big prices. I don't do my 'grocery shopping' at Giant Eagle...but I do come here for a few things: 1) Halo Top. If you have not had this ice cream...SWEET MOTHER OF MONKEY MILK...STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND GET SOME! This stuff is a foodasm waiting to happen. And trust me, you will have more than one. 2) Starbucks. This location has a Starbucks and of course...being the aficionado that I am of Starbucks, anywhere there is one, there I am also. 3) Sushi. Now, this is not the best sushi in the world and I wouldn't go here on date night. But, it is a formidable effort for a pre prepped sushi at prices that won't break the bank. Especially on $5 Sushi Wednesday. 4) Their prepared foods section is large and has lots of selection. They keep things pretty fresh and their salad bar is really nice. 5) Gift cards = fuel perks. While the whole fuel perks thing is just a ploy to get you to pay for their overpriced groceries in the hopes of saving on some gas.....the gift cards make that worth while. Get the gift cards to places you already go, or are planning to go and get some cheaper gas! But beware, GetGo is always .10 to .20 more expensive than anywhere else. That is all. I am beyond pissed. I go to this location only when I'm in the area because their fruits and veggies suck every time I go. Well today different problem at this place.. after a long day of work I go to this location to get my grocery shopping done for the week. The lady rings everything up, I insert my card and it's not reading it. We tried this about 4 times and she's apologizing saying she's has trouble with this machine often. Well then it's says my card won't go through. It's not declined but says "to call the service provider". Very confused. I know there's money on my card and I know it works because I just used it not long ago. The part I really regret now is not asking to get ringed up at another register. I just didn't want to be a pain/hassle and have all my groceries rescanned. So they held my groceries in their fridge while I went home to get my other credit card and come back. I live 15 min away. I finally get back to the grocery store.. another lady is helping me now. (She seemed to be some kind of shift leader). Time to pay, and I pay with the same card I used before just to see.. and guess what. It approved. LIVID. I explained to her how I had to drive all the way home because this lady's machine wasnt reading my card. No apology or anything just "guess her machine wasn't working". WTF. Other then dumb ass workers, and crappy veggie/fruits, the place is clean and well stocked with everything else so that's why the 3 stars. read more

Giant Eagle - Drugstores Near Me - North Olmsted, Ohio

This is my favorite store on the west side. (In case you're wondering... Legacy Village is my favorite on the east side.) I for the most part, love the staff here. There are a couple of exceptions (KAI would be an exception - she is irritating, and typically not friendly), but for the most part, everyone is helpful and friendly. Honestly, since the reconfiguration, I struggle to locate stuff here. (Yes, I realize this may very well be a case of "old dog...new trick".) And, the fancy bulk soaps in the beauty aisle keep me far away from that area. The smell is so strong, it nauseates me for hours. (Seriously, Big Bird, what the heck were you thinking with that one???) Even before the reconfig, this was one of the nicest looking stores in the group. Produce is usually great quality. Meat is also great quality. Fish counter does not smell fishy. Recommendations on what to do with a fish you just bought? They have it. Salad bar usually organized and clean looking. (I typically avoid salad bars like the plague.) Heck... a fully roasted chicken for $5?? I'll take it on busy nights! Dry cleaners. Child care. Huntington Bank. Pharmacy. All good. BEER SELECTION. Mmmmmm. :) Oh all right, they have a nice wine selection as well. When I'm looking for something special - I can usually get it. Crawfish? Done. Weird spice? No problem. read more

This Giant Eagle is the store I typically stop at for Starbucks during the work day, simply put, because it is closer to work than to the Starbucks store. This Giant Eagle Starbucks is slow and typically under-staffed. Additionally, the structure for paying with your Starbucks card is a pain in the tuchas. I'm not really sure who's fault this is, the Bird's or the Bux, but the employees manually have to punch in your card to a special "card-reader" instead of scanning your card like they do at the regular stores or even at the Target Starbucks. While this isn't the fault of the employees, it does add to the slowness of the service. I can't speak to much more of this Bird location than the Bux. I have taken a stroll around this location and they have a larger prepared food section than some and the store appears clean. I'd probably be more inclined to shop the Bird if my local store was this size and nice. This location also sports a Get Go which is a perk for those of you using Get Go points. All in all I'd probably give this a 2.5 out of 5. read more

A review for the Starbucks. I don't often buy coffee from big name corporations. I prefer the loving attention that comes from local owned cafés. However, on one occasion last week I stopped in. I needed a few things and my fix of caffeine for the day. I ordered a coffee and was immediately helped by a kind blonde barista. She was considerate and charming and efficient. I spend a ton of money at this store on a regular basis, I pay their overpriced prices and chock it up to convenience. So Friday night at 9pm I have a taste for clams and it's the season but the meat/seafood counter is dark. There is a woman in the department cleaning up, I ask her if I can get some clams that are in the display case she tells me sorry we are closed. This is a 24 hr store!!! There are none in any of the self serve cases. As I leave I stop by " customer service" and ask why I can't get what I want when the store is open and I'm told only certain departments are open. If I wanted a box of cereal I'd go to convenient. Guess what I'll never shop there again I have a strong Italian stubborn streak and will cut off my nose to spite my face to prove a point I'm sure my $1000 per month is a drop in your huge bucket but you won't ever see it again read more

It seems that I am forced to shop at the Giant Eagle Water Tower store in North Olmsted as there are no other large grocery stores in the area. Yes we have Marc's whose grocery section is not that large. Then there is Heinen's. Smaller stores with limited high quality name brands but a little pricey. Long gone are the days of Rini Rego. They catered to their customers and carried the name brands at a competitive price. I'm not sure what drove them out of business. Giant Eagle now has a strangle hold on the grocery business in this area. Most of their staff are rude and treat you as though they are giving you the privilege of shopping at their store. More so, every time I go there, I find more and more of the name brand items replaced by their low quality house brands at an equal price. Their produce is low quality and not fresh. Fruit that is not ripe (you can play stickball all day with a peach and never bruise it). The meat is so so. If seafood has a smell, it's old. You can find the seafood department wearing a blindfold. Just follow your nose. I cringe every time I have to go shopping there. ATTENTION MEIJER'S AND KROGER'S. You would do well to consider opening a store in this area. I would bet heavy money that Giant Eagle would be out of business in a month or two. I keep a boat in Sandusky and have shopped at both of these stores in that area. What a pleasure! read more

Stay away from the Starbucks!! They charged me 60 cents for whip cream on my white mocha. When I told her that I buy coffee there all the time (since it opened) and I have never been charged she was snarky and said that "All my employees know they are to charge for whip cream on a white mocha". I have never been charged for whip cream EVER. White mocha is the only drink I purchase. (There are three Starbucks in North Olmsted) I replied with, "Well it looks like I need to return to the other Starbucks so I am not charged for whip". She said nothing. I left. I love Starbucks, and I buy a coffee almost daily in the summer but I will not return to that one. read more

Just came to giant eagle to prepare tonight with a nice crab leg dinner because I had a terrible week, just lost my ID earlier last week so I brought my passport to get some wine with my dinner. They said they know it's real but it's to"shiny" so they feel uncomfortable selling to me......how does this make sense? So is a passport not the most valid ID? No one at register another worker calls out her name and still no show. The same worker talks to some one in office, but they do not even acknowledge that I am waiting. Giant Eagle has the worst prepared foods section ---- don't waste your money. The sandwiches are made with bread so stale it crumbles, the cheese in the salad bar smells like vomit and the meat in the deli is tough and gray with strands of fat or ligaments in the chicken and meat loaf. So I started shopping in the fresh foods section, but then today, an employee started following me (shadowing). He shouted at me from the other end of the aisle, "Can I help you?" as if I were stealing their crappy food. And with that I said goodbye to Giant Eagle forever. read more

We shop here often for groceries, since the remodel they make subs to order too. They cost a little more, for me i find them tasting noticeably better that the other sub place. I can't figure exactly why they taste so much better, but they do. I have tried many of the cold subs on the menu. Giant Eagle has a salad buffet, which is supposed to be open and available at 10 am. I usually get fresh salads between 10 and 11 am several times a week. It happened today, and it happened before, that the buffet is not ready on time. It was 10:30 today and they had just started to remove the leftovers from yesterday, making me wait and wait and wait...., getting snoddy with me when I asked why the buffet wasn't ready on time. "I got a call and I'm running late", was the answer. Why are 3 other employees standing around, doing nothing and one employee is trying to fix the buffet all by herself, while customers are waiting? This store is open 24 hours, there is no excuse not to have the prepared food department ready on time, and there is no excuse for the employees excuses. Right now this Giant Eagle is the only larger grocerie store in town, and they know it, and that's why they can treat us that way. I just know one thing: WalMart on BrookparkRoad is extending their store to a SuperWalMart, and I can't wait for the remodeling to be done. Giant Eagle will lose a lot of customers. Too bad I missed the store manager today, but I will let him know in person the next time I go there. read more

I basically stopped doing my daily shopping at the watertower store mainly because of the store disarray and most of all the prices. Marcs items are less but now that we have the walmart SUPER store, why would I spend $50 to get 10 cents off a gallon of gas. For example, the get go by the store is one of the highest and has gone up 50 cents in a week to $3.89 today. Now I go in for the salad and hot bar only. I like Magnum ice cream bars which at GE are $4.49 and Walmart $3.00. Lean cuisine panini sandwiches are $3.69 at GE and $2.98 at walmart. So buying 4 Magnums, 5 lean cuisines, I've already saved $9.51 alone. GAS MONEY!!!!! Shop around. Marcs although cheaper then GE was going up in price too and they are higher then walmart too. Ck it out. All stores have sales but you will end up spending more when you walk around. read more

Out of all the Giant Eagles I have visited in the suburbs of Cleveland this is by far the best one for me. Cons: the prices are extremely high but people shopping in here like they hit the lottery. This review is for the pharmacy. I am extremely disappointed with the customer service at this location. I have been filling my prescriptions here for a few months and I have already had a few problems, but this last one is what really made an impression on me. My insurance is strange and only covers the name brand of my prescription. By the information I was given, I was under the impression that they were going to be able to fill it on Tuesday instead of the more convenient Monday. When I came by on Monday to pick up another prescription I asked them if they were still going to be able to fill the other prescription Tuesday. I was JUST then notified that they have to send out for the prescription to be filled. Don't you think that would have been a good thing to tell the customer?! But that was 50% my fault and 50% their part. The part that has stuck with me is that after a clear misunderstanding they made absolutely no effort to help me locate another pharmacy that have the medication in stock. The pharmacist and pharmacy tech know that pharmacies will not tell me their inventory of any meds without having my prescription in their hand. I then called CVS and just as I thought the pharmacist said that he was unable to tell me on the phone if my medication was in stock. But the difference is that even over the phone, the pharmacist offered to help me locate the medication if they were unable to fill it so that I won't have to waste my time driving around town. After filling my prescriptions at Giant Eagle pharmacy for a few months I guess I expected them to be more inclined to help a loyal customer. I will now be filling my prescriptions elsewhere. read more

I've got mixed feeling about Giant Eagle. 1st it is more expensive than places like Walmart, Aldi, and Marc's, but double coupons fix that. 2nd: I've had issues with finding sale items during the sale (annoying). 3rd: the state liquor agency irritates me. Not only could I not take my cart inside, but it was super small and packed with people. WHY? WHY did this have to take up space in Giant Eagle? Overall the store looks good, people are decent, just not wow'd like I am by places such as Heinens or TJ's. Maybe I'm just sick of the same ol' thing. It serves it's purpose! read more

HORRIBLE customer service. You don't deserve one star. I was standing in line for 10 minutes just to get a pot pie. The employees were too busy emptying boxes AND standing around (I wish I could play on my phone at work!!!) There were also more employees on the floor than customers, and STILL could not get anyone's attention. COMPLETELY IGNORED. Giant Eagle has high prices just like Heinens, but at least Heinens treats their customers A LOT better. Won't be coming back unless I absolutely have to and have no other choice.
