Will never patronize this store again. Ordered a sandwich tray 2 days in advance. When I arrived at the store there was one person working the counter and several people waiting to place custom sliced orders. Meanwhile, my tray was sitting in the backroom with nobody available to retrieve it. At the register, none of the employees knew how to ring it up and a manager had to be summoned. Finally, when I arrived at the event, the sandwiches were half frozen. They were in my car only a few minutes and it was a warm day. It's a nice big store with a lot to choose from. That's where it ends. I am very familiar with product pricing and for such a large store, the prices are not the greatest. It is not difficult to find stores with better pricing. I have also bought milk here and to have it spoil before its expiration tells me it's not handled properly in the store. read more

Now here's where it's different the customer service from each & every employee I've interacted with was top notch, everyone employee greeted us with a smile even if they were busy with other customers. We never thought we'd buy anything but we sure did come out with a cart full of stuff we found cheaper. Shopping at Meijers was an experience that really converted us from shopping the other 2 to them, we would drive the extra miles to have a great shopping experience. Great new grocery/department store in Avon! The last time I set foot inside a Meijer was 20 years ago when I was in college at Ohio State, and I loved it, so I was excited to hear that one was opening in my area! Meijer brings some competition for Walmart since it's also open 24 hours and it's just a few miles away. Their grocery selection is great, and from what I've seen so far, the produce is very fresh! Much better than Giant Eagle! The meat selection is good and on sale prices are very competitive with other retailers. I noticed that their selection of organic grass-fed meats and organic produce is a bit lacking though. Also their fresh seafood section is fairly small. The deli is huge though and they carry Dietz and Watson meats! Not as good as Boar's Head that Fresh Thyme carries, but it's still good quality. The don't have much in the way of prepared foods except for rotisserie chicken, pasta salads, sushi, and pizza by the slice which didn't look that appealing to me. The bakery seems fine though. The department store section of the store is great! They have electronics, pet supplies with a tropical fish area, clothing, kitchen supplies, a Pharmacy, an outdoor home and garden area and more! Oh, they have a Starbucks, Great Clips, and a nail salon inside too! There's also a gas station out front that has plastic gloves you can use to pump gas if you're a germaphobe! I've never seen this at any gas station before. What I like most about Meijer is the M Perks rewards app. They have coupons you can e-clip and you get rewards in the form of dollars off your purchase from making purchases in the different categories like fresh meat, produce, health and beauty, etc. I saved $8 off my last purchase! You also earn discounts on gas. Using M Perks is easy....Just scan your phone or manually enter your phone number and PIN when you check out! Checkout is a breeze since they have a whole bunch of self checkout machines one each end of the store. I've never had to wait more than a minute or two even when it's been busy. Be still my heart. I grew up with Meijer's and it is so bittersweet to see one in the Cleveland area now! I was just amazed by how fast the development went up and by just how gorgeous it is on the inside. As soon as I walked in, I was so overwhelmed (in a good way!) by all the options and friendly employees. They have a beautiful selection of fresh produce, unique ready to go food options and everything you could need for your home. Everything from clothes, to plants, to makeup, to fruit. If you are like me, shopping at multiple stores can sometimes be a pain - so I love stores like Meijer who seem to have it all! So I had never been to a Meijer until today. They didn't have them here (that I know of) when I was growing up, and I've lived in Maryland for the last almost 11 years. It's kinda like if Walmart and Target had a baby. They have everything from food to household items, but much nicer than your average Walmart. Not quite on Target's level in my opinion, but not too far off. They have beautifully decorated cakes for next to nothing! I'm talking a 2 tiered cake for like $23, that's insane! And they have a Starbucks inside so that's a win. However the Starbucks employee was rude and acted as though I was bothering her by trying to order some drinks while she was texting on her cell. At first glance, I thought it would be my trusty equivalent of the Target or GE self-checkout...boy, was I wrong. My items for purchase - socks, Sabra Hummus, Rebel beverage, then a lemon. Anywhere else - 2 min max, out the door. Here: Log into App. Scan all items with phone Lemon has to be scanned at a separate station down the line. Print new label for said lemon Scan THAT label, adding to online cart Finish shopping by creating QR code Scan QR code Attendant STILL needs to put in a release code Then the attendant had to check for two of my four items in the bag. ...Then you get to pay... Thought I was being punked (for those of you old enough to get that reference). Final thought, GO THROUGH THE LINE. read more

I Called Meijer's (Electronics) dept 1/6/21 9:30 am to inquire about Streaming (Roku) they connected me to another Dept.The Associate told me there is no one in The electronics Dept. until 2:00 pm The Associate looked to see if they had what I was looking for she did not know anything about Streaming! I went there today 1/7/21 for Grocery's I did not find a Whole Chicken! I was told they are over there I walked back over to look again I, flagged down that same person (Meat Dept) they agreed with me I guess they where not ordered (Whole Chickens), I asked why, there answer was the Mg. must of forgot! I was so excited when I found out that they would be bringing Meijer to the Cleveland area. Having grown up in Dayton, it was one of the stores that I really missed shopping. The Avon Meijer is awesome! I live about 25 minutes away and I still find myself going there weekly. One of the great things about Meijer is their app. It is SO EASY to rack up savings if you use their rewards program in the app. Just this week I earned $10 off a future purchase by buying $30 in a certain brand. How can you beat that? Another perk is you save 10¢ per gallon of gas with their reward program AND you can save another 10¢ by using the Meijer credit card. Plus the gas seems to always be cheaper than every gas station in the area. The store has a little bit of everything which is always a great thing. They have everything from clothes, housewares, grocery, and even a pet department where you can purchase live fish! If you're looking for a new place for groceries then you should give Meijer a try. I have been so excited about this local Meijer! I love the Sandusky location. The Avon location is over priced! Grocery prices are 50 cents to a dollar higher than their competitors. The apparel departments are very small, the Sandusky location has so much more! I love Sandusky location's dresses. All the medicine is over priced, even the Meijer brand. I was disappointed, since I love this chain store. It could be the newness of the location, but it is very over crowded, no parking and the checkout staff is lost. I have tried twice, I hope the prices come down and they carry more apparel soon or I will stick with Target and the root of all evil-Walmart. read more

Super market is very large and has a wide variety of choices. The bakery section is great they have a lot of bread, sweets, and cakes. To me the pricing of the cakes were very cheap so I wanted to try one of the cakes. The cake was actually really good and fresh. I would eat it again. Updating my review... when they first arrived I was super excited. Now... not so much. Their pick up is awful. They never have all the things I order in stock, they don't call you ahead of time to let you know, and when they do arbitrarily make a replacement, most of the time it doesn't make sense. Get with the times Meijer's, most grocers do real time notifications while they shop for you. My last pickup had 43 items, 8 were out of stock (over 50$ in groceries). read more

Today was my first visit to Meijer's and I was very impressed. Wide aisles,well lit store-Everything was laid out very nicely. Not difficult to navigate. Great signage. But..I wanted to but bagged salad mixes but everything looked old and brown. I was surprised at the lack of freshness there when everything else looked SO good. The prices were great on the bagged lettuce mixes but the brown color turned me off. Odd--no one greats you as you enter the store,or in the store.
