Unlike another pharmacy that I went to (don't remember the name now but it wasn't a chain). Allegedly, it's long lasting relief. That's what it says on the label. Nope. My eyes felt dry within minutes. I should have bought two bottles instead of one. Southern California is ridiculously dry, windy, and dusty. Even close to the ocean, SoCal is too dry. This is the wet winter season in Northern California, and it never gets so dry near the ocean in the summer in NorCal because of the thick cloud cover from the marine layer. Just not used to this level of dry.

I called to ask for the names and status of any new prescriptions. No clear information provided. When I asked to speak to a human being this phone system said a couple of times "I cannot hear you." Seriously!! This is both funny and sad. Sadly CVS management has removed the human element from phone calls. When I go in person to the pharmacy the people working there are helpful. I have used CVS as my pharmacy for years, but with CVS employing this terrible phone system that soon may change.

They answer questions and answer them in a way where I don't feel silly because I don't understand. I do hear people grumble about having to wait in line... I thought that because it was closer would be more convenient, but every single experience that I've had here has been horrible. That is not an understatement. I am using this as a description solely to give you an understanding of who the particular person is, I thought that she was the pharmacist she is what appears to be an asian woman with black hair in a ponytail what's a white lab coat and has a clip in her hair.( again this is a description so that you know who I'm talking about.) I don't care about anyone's background. I care about the kindness and the Customer Service show. The first time I interacted with her I asked about delivery prescriptions to your home. She did not wanna help me. She had nothing but an attitude and told me to do it on the app I asked if I can do it in person she said yes I can with an attitude. She did not wanna help me. She tried to find every excuse as to why she was unable to provide the service from Herself Mind you I was with both of my kids. There was no empathy or compassion that I just needed a little extra help. After her, not wanting to help me, I just said thank you and I picked up my prescription. I wanna mention the attitude was so nasty. It was almost as if she was doing me a favor by being there when quite respectfully, this was her job The other time I went with my kids again to pick up my prescription and she could clearly see me waiting and she chose to ignore me and dust the shelves no acknowledgment nothing. When you walk here, they do not acknowledge you. They do not greet you. They are just nasty like if they'll get to you when they get to you. I do want to mention there were two tech people checking us out and they were very lovely. It was a young woman and a younger man. And they were very sweet both times. This lady shouldn't be in Customer Service and she should never work with people. I will be switching my pharmacy to the other CVS up the road by the way it is where the vitamin Shoppe is. They are always very pleasant. Very kind.

I think their pharmacists are knowledgeable and friendly enough. I'd say they're more on the side of "professional" than aloof. The cashiers and technicians could act a little happier to see us but it's not a big deal to me. Thing is, pharmacies are in an awkward position. They're privy to our medical conditions, some of which can be embarrassing. So I'm glad they act like they don't know me lol. One thing I like is that the status of all my prescriptions are online either through a browser or in an app. This is helpful because it will tell me how many refills are available, and which need the doctor to renew. I can order my refills via the app which is great. I like to patronize the locals. I tried Medicine Shoppe but omg I have to phone in my refills and they're not open at convenient times. Business hours only. Closed weekends. Sigh. They just made it too hard for me. But back to Walmart... I openly admit, for me, the less human contact for something as mundane as filling a prescription, the better. So I'm digging the apps. When a refill is due, they text me with a link to easily see my prescriptions, or to reply to the text with "yes" or "no". When it's filled, I get a new text that it's ready. Bam all that without needing to call anybody. So they usually have what I'm trying to get, in stock. When they don't, they order it and it's there in a day or two. As for lines... that's the most unfair thing I've read here. I think the reviewers were referring to the store's lines, not the pharmacy. I can count on one finger the number of times I've had to wait more than 5 minutes from the time I go in there, to the time I'm leaving the store. Let's not forget about the $4 generics for 30 day's supply and $10 for 90 day's. If you don't have insurance or have a high deductible, these make many meds affordable. Let's also not forget that the trip to the pharmacy can be combined with grocery shopping. This isn't a monster Walmart, it's a "neighborhood market"; much smaller than a big Walmart with huge inventories. Some of their in-stock items are surprising. They have a large Asian section, carry goats milk, have delicious rotisserie chicken, very fresh okra, just to name a few. To sum it up, I don't plan to switch to a different pharmacy any time soon. :-)

They could've simply offered that but chose to draw the whole thing out and delay needed medication. First and hopefully last negative review I will have to leave. What a nightmare to deal with. Over this last year I've been here at least 5 times and more often than not I've left impressed. I would definitely come to this Walmart over my location city Walmart. The one in my city is really challenging to park in as the lot is always super busy and they are short staffed. Not at this newbury park location though! My biggest pro of this store is they seem to always have multiple registers open. I am so grateful for this. If they are busy they are busy but it feels a lot better seeing 3-4 registers open most times I come compared to 1-2 at my local store. I also appreciate this store as it's pretty clean and organized. I can often times find staff stocking and in the isles if needed. Also as I mentioned above, good parking! The reason I docked a star is primarily because of quality of some items and quantity. Their meat department isn't my favorite nor their deli. Again, I'm a little picky with groceries so that's why this isn't my regular weekly go to spot. But I'm happy that when I'm in a pinch or need a few items, I can count on this store to have what I need and to be able to get in and out of here without hassle.
