The staff here have been very helpful even when calling to check stock of certain items. There is free parking in their lot in front of the store. Be aware there is no public restroom (I believe McDonald's may be the closest). Overall I have been here several times and enjoy stopping in when I'm close by. read more

The largest nation-wide pharmacy in the United States and it's CLOSED for half an hour in the middle of the day for lunch??? You have got to be freaking kidding me. Who does that in this day and age? Super convenient when you make a trip across town at 1:30PM and they're closed. Don't even get me started on how long you have to wait to talk to a Pharmacist when you call this place, you're lucky if it's only a 15-minute hold. Hire some more employees for crying out loud. read more

I've been to quite a few CVS locations across the country and I've never received service that exceeded my expectations, so I guess I've just stopped thinking that exceptional customer service was something they would provide. But after visiting this particular location a few times, I realized that I always had a great time whenever I walked in there. The cashiers are always lighthearted and take time to make conversation with me. They joke and make me feel welcome, and they don't seem to hate their jobs. Even the pharmacist there goes above and beyond to help me. When I went to get a flu shot a few months ago, she took the time to fill another prescription for me even though I didn't ask for it - I appreciated that she was so proactive. So far, I've yet to have a bad experience there, so I'll keep going back. Thank you for being so much fun, CVS staff! read more

Insanity: "Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." - Albert Einstein I usually enjoy visiting a CVS since, like many convenient stores, it has a decent selection of toiletries, cleaners, candies, and cold drinks. It's also a more favorable option than stopping at a Target when I'm in a rush. However, this CVS is MUCH different than the others. It's bizarre and serves as the Twilight Zone of Uptown because of its disorganized shelves, small piles of trash at the front counter, and their unprofessional pharmacists and techs. Also, like most Twilight Zone episodes, you will leave enlightened and remember to never mess-up again. My girlfriend and I dropped by to pick up a prescription (emphasis on pick-up), and a pharmacist or tech said it would be ready within ten minutes. Totally understandable, sometimes people get busy! While waiting, we heard an automated CVS hotline voice on repeat squealing out of the speakerphone for twenty minutes as a staff member frantically "tried" to contact headquarters. After waiting for another ten, my girlfriend asked someone else whether her prescription had been prepared. Without responding, she left and scurried around the back only to find her order unattended. With little remorse, she returned to the counter and said, "I'm sorry, we don't have it. You might want to try tomorrow." Seriously? Her response was just as crazy as Colin Kaepernick's throw to Richard Sherman's side of the field with seconds left in the NFC Championship Game, last night. BUT THEN SHE CHANGED. She sorta started crying. Girl, why are you crying? Shouldn't my girl be crying, because ya'll messed her meds? #whatisgoingon I am not insane, so I will never risk wasting another thirty minutes of my life in the CVS Twilight Zone again. read more

I was forced to switch to CVS from Walgreens about six months ago as my insurance no longer covers getting my prescriptions filled at Walgreens. (I feel the need to note that this had nothing to do with the Affordable Care Act - it's the same insurance I've had for years.) Anyway, I transferred my prescriptions to this CVS as it was the closest one to my home. I hate this place. I've had a negative experience every single time I step foot in here whether it's to get a prescription or just to grab a vitamin water or a new tube of mascara. My prescriptions have NEVER been ready for pick-up even if I show up hours after the time it's supposed to be done. I always have to wait at least 15 minutes for them to do it then and there. They didn't have my address or other patient info saved in their system until a couple days ago even though I give it to them every time I pick up a prescription. Literally 50% of the time the checkout counter at the front has no staff and I've had to wait 5-10 minutes to be helped or I have to seek out someone myself just to pay for merchandise. The pharmacy always seems understaffed with a customer line wrapping around the isles. I've never seen the pick-up window open so everyone has to go through one cash register. The pharmacy staff bickers with each other in front of customers. The cashiers show zero accountability, and over-all the place lacks staff communication and customer service skills. read more

This pharmacy has the worst customer service of all time. Every single time I call, I am on hold for 20+ minutes. Sometimes even 40 minutes. They say they're "super busy." No, you're not, I come in there all the time and I've never seen you be so busy you can't answer the phone. There are usually only one or two people in line, if any. And I come at all hours of the day, so there is no excuse that I must come in at a slow time. And regardless of how "busy" you are, you should answer the phone and ask the person calling to hold a little longer. I've had to call the normal CVS before to ask what was going on at the pharmacy. I'm working on switching all of my meds over to be MAILED to me instead, to save myself the misery of having to call this place or go to it. read more

Worthless pharmacy. I understand not having enough of a medication to fill it fully, which was the excuse I got today when my order wasn't ready four hours after it was promised. I do not understand why they didn't fill it partially OR call me to tell me the problem. Instead, I arrived and was treated to a 30 minute wait while I watched them scurry around like idiots trying to find the order they didn't fill, then fill my partial order. Train your employees better. I can count on the lack of efficiency and customer service every time I fill a script here. Well, I've finally learned my lesson with this abusive relationship we have, CVS. It's over. I'll get my drugs elsewhere. read more

This CVS is weird. The first few times I stopped by, about a year ago, it seemed relatively well stocked, though it was kind of eerie being the only customer. The food and medicine stuff were and are reasonably well stocked, but the paper products, the hair and skin and makeup stuff, pretty much abysmal. Definitely don't come here if you're trying to find something that doesn't have an easy substitute, especially if that item is on sale--it will be sold out and not restocked for another two months or so. Also, note that the pharmacy has different hours, so if you need to buy the [working] kind of OTC allergy meds that require an ID check, make sure you check to see if it's open. But okay, okay, storytime [skip if you're looking for substance]: I casually mentioned the lack of restocking and low makeup turnover this CVS seems to have to my sister, who told me I should look for the limited edition or discontinued items that makeup fans hunt for. On my next visit I found a coveted, discontinued $8 highlighter that's a close match for another product which costs about ten times as much at Sephora. Score! So I grabbed it, went to the cash register and after waiting in line and arriving at the counter, the woman looked at me, said nothing, and left, taking the pricing gun with her into the oral hygiene aisle. She then proceeded to price things, seemingly refusing to make eye contact. There was seemingly no one else working. I left my treasure and went home bewildered, telling myself I wouldn't go back again. Except to spend ExtraCare bucks. Well, CVS gets to keep an extra star, because when I went back today, the magic highlighter was still there. I guess 2:00pm on a Monday is a busy time, since I waited in line for a longgg time to pay for it but...I hope its worth it! read more

Well, the pharmacists are nice and courteous. But the pharmacy constantly runs out of common prescription medications, so refills can't be done in a timely manner. I've had to drive out to a CVS in Plymouth, MN and a CVS on the other side of Minneapolis when there were issues with what they had in stock at the pharmacy. One time it was luckily only a Target down the street. So, clearly, this is an issue at the corporate level where they don't properly stock their pharmacies. read more

If you want any sort of customer service or to be able to get your prescription at all, don't go here. I tried to have a prescription transferred from another pharmacy and it was an absolute nightmare trying to get that set up. I had to call back and forth between pharmacies 6 times, then have my doctors call 3 times before they would even put it through. When I spoke to a pharmacist about this and tried to explain, he clearly didn't care. I was kind and even tried to explain how there could be improvement. He didn't care and couldn't even outright apologize for the how terrible everything was. I work in customer service, I know you're busy right now...but when someone has a very valid issue with picking up something that is needed for their health, you should at least try to care. read more

This CVS was great until my meds got renewed and they didn't know what they were doing. I went to pick up my inhaler and the technician told me they were out of stock until Monday and said I could come back. Um really? You do realize that inhalers allow people to BREATHE right. Clearly not. I told her I would just go to the one on Nicollet and Franklin, and when I got there she didn't even fax my prescription over. So I had to wait. Now I give this place four stars because the woman who screwed up normally isn't at that location. Overall my experiences weren't that bad, but after going to Nicollet and Franklin I'm still going to switch. read more

Sometimes it's just the little things in life that make all the difference. At this CVS, it's the one interaction that I had that accounted for all three stars of this review. This place is within spitting distance of my house, and yet I avoid it at all costs. The shelves are often bare (or empty for some reason), the layout of the store is weird and somehow I always think that they should be open later. However I was just here on an emergency hail-mary headache run. If you've ever gotten a migraine, you know how AWFUL they can be. I ran over to CVS after trying a million other things: sleep, a cool dark room, coffee, heavy-duty prescription medications - none did the trick. I came here for my last ditch effort after feeling awful for DAYS on end. The service I received was wonderful, everyone I encountered was so friendly and even though I was feeling terrible, my interactions with the staff here made such a lasting impression. I only wish that I could have gotten their names so that I could thank their manager personally. read more

this CVS pharmacy just recently put me through HELL refilling my medications properly. I've gone to them for about a year, and in the beginning it was totally fine (obviously, i mean i stuck with them), it was close to my house, no problem..... and then it started to slip a little. not huge things, so i over looked them. and then? they royally effed up my meds, i won't get into the full story, because it's boring and personal- just know it was a serious hot mess. the lack of communication between everyone there could not have been worse. everyone told me something different. everyone. it was made BLATANTLY clear to me that my medication issue wasn't their personal issue, and it just became a game of hot potato. i voiced my annoyance to the pharmacy staff and everyone just kind of shrugged or pointed it to someone else (literally and figuratively.) i took it to facebook even, i was so pissed, and it sounds like im not the only person to have major issues with this location. i don't think anyone there takes their job seriously enough to fully understand the importance of people's medications, and what an incredibly large role they can play in someone's health. if i don't take my meds daily, im up shit creek. point blank. i moved out of state, and thankfully never have to deal with them again. in fact, they have completley turned me off to CVS, period. i've transferred to another major pharmacy. if you want everything done wrong, and for people to make you feel like a pain in the ass when you stick up for yourself, you've found the right place read more

There is free parking in uptown! What more can you ask for. Employees have been friendly, I'm in here fairly regularly for prescriptions or OTC items. My only issue is with the pharmacy is i have been told I'm refilling my prescription too early which wasn't an issue with other pharmacies because CVS has some automated red flag that comes up in the system. But they are pretty fast and prices are low and I've never waited in line for more than a minute or so. OTC stuff can be expensive but they have great coupons on the back of receipts sometimes. read more

I have been going to this CVS for quite a while. I switched from Walgreens because the Walgreens store wasn't as convenient for me. It's been a couple of years. Whenever I ordered refills, I did it online which is the way I try to do everything, and they were ready as soon as I got there. The last 6 months, the Pharmacy has been terrible. I call in after it's supposed to be ready and am told that they are working on it right now. I show up - they haven't even started. This happens time after time after time. The pharmacists that were there before have left and they were very good. The staff was very good but it seems like the whole store has had a blanket turn-over of personnel. Back to Walgreens, even if it is a bit more inconvenient - at least I'll know when my prescription is ready to pick up and not wait for days. read more

I have been going to CVS on Lake St for a year now. Briefly, I tried a mail order pharmacy but it was a nightmare. The pharmacy staff are always pleasant and professional. I have never had a problem getting my medications and have never seen an error with them. I never have to wait in long lines like the Walgreen's pharmacy on Hennepin. I catch some great mark down specials on food items, too. Easy free parking. Clean and organized. read more

The pharmacy is terrible. A year ago, the pharmacy was speedy and accurate. The current staff is slow, doesn't pay attention to if your prescription is new (I had to read details on the medication and look up any possible interactions online), and continually mixes up brands. Another note, my prescription is on auto fill, supposedly an easy in and out. I am once again wandering the store for half an hour waiting (after receiving a phone call that my prescription was in fact ready). I will be switching to Walgreens. read more

Worst CVS I've ever been to. I'll gladly go all the way downtown, because at least that store is well-stocked and the regular cashiers are friendlier. I stopped by yesterday to pick up a few items. I was immediately followed by a young girl with pink hair. There is nothing suspicious about me...I had a small purse, zipped and kept at my back the entire time. I had on a puffy coat (it's winter in Minneapolis, after all), but it is snug fitting. Other than that, I don't know know what about me screams "shoplifter!!!" I gathered my few items, and headed towards the front. Of course, by this point, Pinky was nowhere to be found. I browsed the small selection of electronics in the front, looking for headphones. Finally Pinky approached, and I asked her is there were more headphones available somewhere else. Her response was "Yeah, in aisle 10, but they're like, locked up or something." Ok...I told her I'd check them out and headed back, expecting her to follow me in case I decided to buy a pair. Nope. She disappeared again. I decided to skip on the crappy, overpriced ear buds, and headed back up to the counter to make my purchases. Pinky stepped up to the register, and almost immediately fielded a phone call. She stood there chatting with a coworker while I swiped my card and waiting for it to go through. The card reader stalled and kept flashing "Processing", while Pinky stood there chatting about information that probably shouldn't have been revealed in front of a customer, ignoring me. Finally, she deigned to look up from her call and snap "you can run your card again." I told her the machine still said "processing", and she garbled some response about the machine freezing. I ran my card again, it went through. The receipt printed out and she decided that then was a good time to inform me that my coupon hadn't gone through (which she would have caught before my payment went through if she hadn't been chatting on the phone and actually paying attention to the customer in front of her). I just wanted to leave at this point, so I said I didn't care. Seriously, Pinky...put the damn phone down when you're ringing out a customer. As a retail manager, I'd hand any employee caught doing what you did their own ass. Super rude. read more

I've had bad experiences with some pharmacists and pharmacy techs, but the head pharmacist, Dan, is great and took the time to get to know me over the years and was always willing to talk through issues about medication and support me in what I needed. Minus one star for other pharmacy staff who were judgmental and/or skeptical of my medical issues (which are real and documented), but Dan is great! read more

Unprofessional pharmacy staff and extremely disorganized. I went in to fill a prescription and was told it would be ready in 50 mins. I decided not to wait and to come back the next day to pick it up. When I came back I was told to wait 10 minutes - 25 minutes later, I asked again and was told it was out of stock. Why would you tell me to wait 50 minutes when it's actually out of stock? Waste of my time. I'll go out of my way not to use the pharmacy again. read more

Like other reviews on here, the pharmacy was not bad up until about November of 2013. Now it is a struggle each time to get your prescriptions filled. I use the automated refill system via phone and put in a respectful requested pickup time of about 6 hours (when i am done with work) i am assured that it will be ready at desired time....it never is, in fact the last 5 times i have had to physically go into the store and tell them to refill a prescription and then wander around in the store for 30 minutes waiting for it to be filled...calling the pharmacy and actually getting a hold of someone is a crap-shoot and expect to be treated to several minutes of hold music. I don't know what happened, but it is downright terrible currently and has been for some time. I am really left with no choice but to change pharmacies. read more
