I am frustrated that CVS has stopped stocking Belted Shields in their Minneapolis/St. Paul stores, despite my being a long-time customer who depends on them for a disability-related need, I am concerned that CVS is now directing me to order online, even though package theft is common in my area and home delivery isn't a safe option. After clearing out the last of the stock at the U of M store, I found that all nearby locations are now out. CVS is making it unreasonably difficult for people like me, with a disability to access essential products and is technically neglecting my needs. read more

Camping Vehemently Sucks. So do the prices of CVS, a nationwide drug mega chain. This particular Pharmacy is perfect for all the college kids at the University of Minnesota right in the middle of University Village and within walking distance of the college campus and all the residence halls. But because of that you won't find a lot of the sales that you usually find a CVS although the sales aren't even that good in most locations and this specific one will charge more than usual and has an angry-looking security guard and you constantly feel like you are Under Suspicion and they're out of a lot of stuff and it's a lot less expensive than a lot of the other locations, as this is run a little bit more like a convenience store. With convenience store prices no less. They're basically making a killing off of college kids so if I were you I would totally avoid this place and go somewhere cheaper. But if you need pharmacies. Then I guess it's good that is right here for all the students and whatnot. And everybody's on some pills are out there so it works out for them I guess. Barbie says: CVS must stand for Carries Various Sundries. Their prices are usually expensive, but if you sign up for the rewards card, you can use different coupons to make things more affordable. At approximately 3 PM on Oct. 20, I was stung by a wasp. Since I had a childhood alergy, I immediately went to the nearest pharmacy, in this case CVS at Washington Avenue Southeast, Minneapolis, MN (two blocks away). I ran in and went to the pharmacist. I explained to him my situation, and asked him for first aid, in this case baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), which would at least partially neutralize the venom. Without looking up, he stated that they had run out of it, and continued counting pills. I ran through a number of common, non-prescription solutions, etc which can at least partially neutralize the venom. He continued counting pills and without looking up, each time mumbled "no". Finally, an employee said that a Walgreens pharmacy was two blocks away. In my opinion, that pharmacist should be fired and have his license revoked. It is noteworthy that virtually all of the reviews on this CVS on Googlemap are negative. The business has not responded to the reviews, and they are still in business. I have filed a formal complaint against this CVS and against the person who calls himself a pharmacist. read more

I'm a former regular at CVS in my home location, so I thought it would be convenient and easy to get my much needed transplant medication refill picked up. After calling my dr for the order on Tuesday when we arrived, Thursday came and nobody had called me about anything. I called my doctor and she said she'd called it in on Tuesday after receiving the call. I followed that call with a call to the pharmacy and they said "yea we're working on it, it'll be about an hour." I asked why it hadn't been done yet considering the order was called in on Tuesday? Their reply was, "we had it on order, it'll be ready within the hour" I gave it 1.5 hours before I walked over only to find out "we don't have it it's on order. We were just about to call you." Why didn't they call me an hour ago when they were "fixing it now"? I explained to them the urgency this medication was to my transplant and the girl was aloof while she walked to go ask the pharmacist and turns out they just didn't have enough to fill my order. We leave out at 9am tomorrow or I'd come back for the rest but I feel they could care less about their customers needs. read more

I would give this location 0 stars if I could. Not only ate the pharmacy workers rude and not helpful, they also make comments on medication you're picking up. I felt ridiculed and belittled at 818 Washington Ave. Go to a different location. read more

I am a big CVS fan and always choose them over Walgreens, but the location on Washington Ave is a bit disappointing when compared to the Walgreens. They have a great location and friendly staff with a clean facility, but they lack the diverse products that Walgreens offers. When I wanted cake mix and a bin, CVS had neither of them but Walgreens had both. When comparing prices, Walgreens and CVS are about the same (they may differ on some products, but not substantially). Once again, nothing wrong with this particular CVS, I just prefer the variety Walgreens has to offer. read more

You can tell how a lot about CVS in general from the state of this location. Especially how they treat their employees. The overhead speakers have literally been blown and fuzzy for MONTHS, forcing their staff to listen to electronic static all day long. Dirty floors and under-paid and under-appreciated staff add to sadness that is this location. read more

I had a prescription sent here, and when I arrived, I was told they cancelled it because they don't take my insurance. Whatever. I went to buy generic allergy pills, and it is legitimately 2x more expensive then Target. It was $6 for 5 pills -- Target Dinkytown (who is also overpriced) only charged $4.50 for 14! Definitely avoid this store. Their prices are insanely high, even for generic name brand items. read more

Where else would I go for my stress-induced Ben and Jerry's binge?? I really like this location as it's close to the apartments and school. Beware, a lot of items are overpriced, like my beloved ice cream. I would not recommend your regular shopping trips to be here, but definitely for when you need to pick up one or two things in a jam. read more

I had a terrible experience with this pharmacy. The pharmacist is incredibly rude. At first, I thought maybe she was just having a bad day... but every single interaction I have had with this pharmacist has been terrible! She also messed up my prescription so I have been out of my meds for 2 weeks. She said my meds were not in her system even though it clearly says they are online and my doctor said the order went through fine. She talks down to customers and is not good at her job. read more

I usually don't write reviews, but my experience at this location made me want to write one. Pharmacy staff is unfriendly and rude when picking up my order. A smile can go a long way in customer service and they definitely lack that. This location is walking distance for me, but I think I will be better off driving to a further one. read more

There is a new pharmacist (pharm tech?) that has made me want to switch pharmacies after going there for almost 2 years because she is so unfriendly :( When I walk up to the counter she doesn't greet me, just looks at me like I am inconveniencing her. I gave her the benefit of the doubt the first time, maybe she was having a bad day. But I quickly learned that she is just unpleasant in general. Today I tried to exchange pleasantries and she just ignored me. She also doesn't wear a name tag so I don't know her name. Really sad because that's the most convenient pharmacy for me. Like Lexi and Laura - I have had the same experience with a newer pharmacist at this CVS (maybe pharm tech). I basically mirror Laura L's review exactly. I too have given her the benefit of the doubt, but time after time, she makes you feel like you are a nuisance for just being there. I have wanted to say something so many times and I also try and be positive. I feel for her if she is having trouble in life. However, if she always treats everyone this way, she perhaps needs some help or this is not the career for her. I have never dreaded walking up to a pharmacy counter so much in my life. Wish her well and I hate to switch pharmacies but I think I'm going to have to do so. read more

Picking up some heartburn meds . it was clean in store the cashier was friendly asked if I had my rewards card

I was subjected to racial profiling by a cashier named Callie. Apparently even Indian men are subject to racial profiling at this store. The cashier did not make any attempt to greet me and was rude. She said that she was scared when she saw me initially. She had the audacity to pretend as though I would steal laundry detergent (LOL). I get the impression that non-white people are not welcome at this business. read more

I had to fill a prescription on an emergency basis - on a Sunday afternoon - while traveling. The woman who was staffing the pharmacy at this CVS could not have been more friendly, caring, empathetic and efficient. It was a wonderful experience. read more

Very unimpressed with the senile male pharmacist. I think his last name started with a B. He was very rude, and when I gave him my coupon for a prescription (which only took 30 seconds at walgreens to process), he told me that I would have to wait an hour for it to be ready. When I came back, he told me the coupon didn't go through and that I would have to pay the full amount. I had another coupon to use and he told me that one would also take an hour to process. My question is- seeing as I'm already in their system, why couldn't he give me a call soon after the coupon failed instead of making me wait the full hour to get my prescription? Now I have to not take my medication tonight and go tomorrow to get it. Some medications are okay with being skipped, but this is not. Missing a dose of this medicine is a big deal and I am very displeased with this man. The only reason I gave this place 3 stars is because it is a good store, but the pharmacy sucks balls. Thanks for nothing old man. (The girls who work in the pharmacy have all been very very helpful and nice! So don't get me wrong there). But grandpa pharmacist, it's time to stop. read more
