So I don't normally go to Yelp to complain (if you look at my reviews, the average skews more positive), but I thought I should warn others that there's a chance someone will be rude to you here. This CVS is conveniently located nearby a bunch of hotels on Main. However, my rating goes from 4 stars to 2 starts after a bad interaction with one of the staffers at the pharmacy register. I felt that this staffer judged me based on what I looked like to her and treated me inappropriately. Should you encounter weirdness or nastiness from people working here, don't let this ruin you day or your trip if you're a vacationer like me. There are other pharmacies on the island. read more

Likely a corporate rather than specific store issue: CVS recently reformatted their online vaccine appointment scheduler. None of the CVS locations that are close to me no longer appear on their website, despite ALL of them appearing prior to the reformatting. CVS website is also a mess. Open 24 hours?!?! Superb. On a weekend out in Newport, RI, I came to realize I had forgotten to fill my prescription. Annoyed, but insistent on starting it when I was suppose to. . . I found myself walking through the automatic doors of this business. While my travel companion headed toward the large selection of sunscreen lotions, I walked to the back of the store where the pharmacy is located. The pharmacists were extremely helpful and quick! They had no problem transferring my prescription info to their store and were even able to determine my insurance choice with ease. I waited no longer than 10 minutes for them to fill the prescription and was in and out of there in no time. How convenient! Nothing worse than running errands while attempting to enjoy the outdoor splendors of a seaside town. Made the trip simple and harmless, yay! read more

Front store worker CJ was absolutely rude talking about my family while I waited there for my pictures to be printed from our vacation. Using the words "ew" and "gross" about my family and I including making comments about my son and his father and I's tattoos. It was disgusting and disrespectful listening to the way this child was talking about my family. The high horse and snooty attitude she continued to show while I waited watching her huff and puff at customers because all they wanted to do was check out. Giving them attitude when they asked her question was just sickening to watch. The fact that cvs has someone this atrocious working as front store employee is pathetic. She honestly should be fired considering this is probably not her first time being this ugly to and about customers. read more

This has to be the worst CVS unless they're all the same. The number of times they say your prescription will be ready by a certain time and it is not ready even after getting there two hours after the time they gave you is staggering. It's always the same, "it should be ready in 20 minutes". Just tell me to come in when I have the time to wait already because either way you're waiting. At least they would provide the courtesy of letting you arrive when you had 20 minutes to wait. Unbelievable. read more

The best thing about CVS is that you can find it in so many places. And many times it is just few minutes from where you are. I bought something to help remove nozzle from the nose of a baby. Something made of plastic, that could easily cost $2 in other stores cost here $14. Expensive. So I can say that next time I'll come to CVS only if I have to. But they are everywhere, and you know you will get what you need here. This is why I go with 3 stars. read more

This review is a shoutout to the wonderful staff at the pharmacy. I regularly pick up prescriptions here and everyone who works there is so genuinely friendly and helpful, both in person and on the phone. They are very efficient and I rarely stand in a line waiting to pick up a prescription. Other perks of this location is that it's not in busy and touristy Newport, and unlike the Newport Bellevue store that is only 24 hours during the summer, this location is 24 hours all year round. This store is clean, and it's easy to find what you need. What more could you ask for? read more

I just left CVS on October 9, 2020 at 11:30pm I was the only person in the store and walked up to the pharmacy because I thought I had a prescription to pick up, I did not have a prescription but I had four items that I asked Pam to ring up for me and she REFUSED to ring up my four items. She told me she was so busy that she could not help me I looked around and I told her that there was not one person in the store but me. She started to yell for the girl up front Jennifer who did help me. Pam also told me that if I did have a prescription she would only ring that and I would have to go to the front for my 4 items. Maybe Pam is new because she was wearing jeans and tshirt, not the professional uniforms worm by the day shift who are willing to ring up 4 items. Had Pam not been so rude, unprofessional, yelling across the store, didn't try to fix the situation just pushed me like I was bothering her. I had to ask her what her name was 3 times before she told me. All around it was disgusting of Pam to not help me, you work for CVS thats a 24 hour store and you should be more accommodating to customers. What if Jennifer was in the restroom. I would have had to wait because Pam REFUSED to help me?? Pam should have to really take a customer service class and take a page from Mckenzie Finns book. Always smiling and very professional. Another terrible experience at the pharmacy here. I am understanding of the fact that most businesses are short staffed right now, what I can not be understanding of is courtesy. I as a customer for several years here can understand how busy employees are at this particular pharmacy, but after I wait over 20 minutes each encounter here, I should not have to be treated poorly. Dolton was very rude and condescending and to be honest not helpful at all. After waiting in line to pick up 2 prescriptions, I was told the one I dropped off the day before, and was told it would be ready in an hour, and I received text messages for, was in fact, not ready the next day, and Dolton did not know why, could not find out why, and rudely told me to go wait in a separate line now to find out. terrible customer service. luckily a very kind women, whom I believe to be the Pharmacist, was able to assist and kindly help me. read more

This is the absolute worst cvs and the drive through line for the pharmacy is awful. Half the time you can't even get in it or you're blocking the fire lane. Today I got lucky, I was the second person in line. While waiting 15 minutes. Seriously 15 minutes 4 more cars got behind me. I get to the window and no ones there. Pushed the button and wait. And wait. 5 minutes later employee comes to window. Finally! I hadn't planned on 20 minutes of my 30 minute lunch in my car at cvs. I give her my info. And wait and wait and wait. At this point I'm seriously considering switching to Walgreens but they're worse. So I wait. She comes back. I'm waiting for the paper to sign. She's carefully putting my scripts in a brown bag. JC just give me them. She gives me paper to sign. Pen hits side of car. Fabulous. I sign. Finally get my bag. And it's been over a half hour. I honestly normally love this CVS because of the 24 hour convenience and great staff, but that was all ruined today! I went in to print a photo and as I was trying to figure the photo computer out, the line got about 12 people deep within a matter of a minute. The young girl at the register was working fast and requested help on the microphone... and must've pressed a help button too. About two minutes later, as the line is still growing, a man explodes out of the office and says VERY loud "OK. I HEARD YOU. ONLY PRESS THE BUTTON ONCE!" In the meanest and most condescending voice I've ever heard out of management! It scared me and physically made me jump! The man goes and helps check customers out with a miserable face and zero friendliness... and once the line was gone, the girl went to do something in an isle, and the man stayed behind the counter. I smiled and said "excuse me! ".. and he came over to the photo computer, he said "yes?".. I said "I believe you owe that hard working young girl an apology, the way you came storming out of your office scared the heck out of me and yelling at her was just inappropriate"... he said "oh sorry" in the most ingenuine way possible... I told him that I personally don't care how I feel about the situation, but you owe the girl an apology. He said "ok ya I'll talk to her"... Now, I don't normally write a bad review, but I know that guy isn't apologizing to that hard working kid on his own... so I'm hoping corporate will see this and make sure he gets off his power trip and does. I understand that everyone has a rough day, but I've seen this guy storming around the store before...but never treat anyone like a dog like that before, so, Mike, aka the manager that treats young employees like dogs, it's time for to relax, nothing that you do at CVS or that's going on at CVS is that serious for you to humiliate a hard working kid like that. Not a good choice for Military!! Today the pharmacy technician felt compelled to tell me how horrible and complicated it is to fill my Rx. They tried to authorize a new prescription but CVS never put the information from my doctor's prescription pad. They used information from their CVS database to call... Jacksonville? I never gave them that address! When they couldn't reach him called a civilian provider I asked them to remove 3 years ago!!! We have had this insurance in many other cities and never had a problem. They have to special order my son's medication every month. We have picked it up every month for the last 30 months and they can't have one month in stock? read more

This is still the WORSE CVS I have ever delt with and I use 4 different ones ! I placed a Curbside "1 Hour EXPRESS" order today at 12 Noon time, it is now 8:10 pm and NO ORDER yet !! At 2:00 sent friend to store to find out where my order was and they couldn't find it even though I had a confirmation number; at 3:00 I randomly get a text they're out of the Tylenol I wanted ?!? and to pick something else, which I did but was a lot of trouble to process ! No more text but checked my online account which said my order was being worked on and......Nadda, nothing more. Called an 800 # at 7 that said they'd call the store and find out what happened to the order and get back to us and never did ! WTH ?!! We used curbside at other locations with no issues so it's THIS MIDDLETOWN location ! Curbside service is a nice idea for ppl like myself who have disabilities that keep you from going into a store all the time. If a CVS can't follow through with a service they ought not offer it. "ONE HOUR CURBSIDE EXPRESS" ? Laughable after 8 hours of trying to get it. I give up. And Customer Service obviously doesn't care either. GO ANYWHERE BUT MIDDLETOWN CVS!! read more

It's a nice store since renovated. CVS stands for consumer value, but the only value is when they mark down prices after each season. Very expensive otherwise. Someone has to pay for the renovations!! read more
