For the second year in a row I stopped by Gold's while vacationing on Aquidneck Island in order to replenish my supply of Chi's Chi's Mexican Mudslide. The price at Gold's is $3 cheaper than I have discovered in Connecticut. Once again I found only a trio, now zero, and purchased each. I also checked their inventory of vino which I found a bit uppity, but eventually discovered a bottle of Hearst Ranch Winery's Cabernet Sauvignon that was steeply discounted. read more

You can't go wrong with Golds. They have everything you could ever want. If you have any questions, just ask for Jay.

There are a few places in Rhode Island that I don't write reviews for. And it's for a selfish reason, I don't want to let the secret out. RI is a small place, and sometimes when you have a hidden gem, part of what's so special about it is that bunches of people haven't come in and ruined it. Gold's is one of those, don't screw it up. If you're looking for a small, family run shop, with friendly staff and that's interested in their local and loyal customer base, this is that place. #RBB read more

Very courteous and helpful - since the Drizly app folded into Uber Eats I was worried I would not get the same kind of convenience, but these folks are awesome. I love my beer on the weekends but since having two spinal fusion surgeries it is very difficult for me to carry anything that weighs more than a few pounds. They let me know when they were close and even brought my delivery right into my residence - outstanding customer service! read more

Great brand new location with the best selection and prices on Aquidneck Island! Immaculate service, employees and down to earth ownership. Easily the best store in RI read more

Owner was rude. He keeps harder to find bourbons under the counter and doesn't allow customers to purchase. He offers to friends and then says he doesn't have anything. After I asked and spent $80 there, he asked if I was a customer. Not anymore! read more

This is a great location. I love shopping here. Great prices and service. I would highly recomend shopping hete.

Best liquor store on the island. Excellent customer service and outstanding product selection. A must for all of your 21+ needs!

Very unprofessional and rude staff. Selection and pricing is fine. Just ignorant employees. If you're claustrophobic stay away. I'm sure it's no fun standing there checking people out all day but jobs are available. Go find a new one read more

Good selection of red wines. All my favorites were there at fair prices. There was a line at the checkout when I came in, but the woman at the register was super fast and friendly and by the time I got to the register the line was gone. Lots of parking as they are located in the shopping mall. read more

Went here to check out their selection of fine bourbons and limited release stock. Was asked if I "usually shop there". Having just moved to the area from another state, I answered no. The owner (I think) then promptly became unprofessional, agitated even, and told me he wouldn't sell me anything like that because I'm not a normal customer. If you're looking for limited release items, take your business elsewhere unless you are a frequent customer or want to be disrespected. Name calling too...see owner's statements. Like I said, unprofessional. read more

very rude customer service staff and owner. Stay away from this store if you are Asian , especially when the owner is having a bad day. He'll take it out on you. I will never go back to your store again. read more

Not a way to run a business!!! The people who work there don't care about the customer unless they already stock the iten. The rudeness is thick and seems to be the way this business has operated for many years!!! Will never enter this store again!!!!! read more

Ok, not usually the one to give bad reviews-store is ok, one employee seems to hate his job and likes to take it out on customers. Not just one visit, but several times I have been in and subjected to rude comments. Not again, done with Golds. Management take notice, this is how you lose customers... Just so we are on same page, the gentleman, apparently the owner?, was speaking to someone else when I came in, and rather than interrupt, I handed him a lottery ticket to cash as I went to get my wine selection, not a nip and I don't do laundry next door. He looked at me like "what's this?" I assumed working at a liquor store that has lottery he knew what to do with it. I asked if there was an issue, he threw the lottery ticket on the counter and said he wouldn't cash it. My mistake, if there were to be a next time, which there won't be, I would explain that he should take lottery tickets that are handed to him and cash them and thank his customer for coming in. And not sure what he meant by godless???? read more

Great customer service and knowledgeable employees. The owner is well versed on all things, wine and liquor. He provides helpful recommendations to fit your budget and/or occasion. Tim (the manager) also offers great insight and perspective on many of the products in the store. This store is great. Highly recommended! read more

Only store I can find the exact wine I like. Great price and excellent customer service. Offered to bring my bottles to my car. Should have said yes. Fell in parking lot, broke one bottle and my glasses. Bloodied hands (not bad). Muddy dirty and soaked with wine. Gold's employees came out cleaned up mess and replaced bottle of wine. Made sure I was okay. thanks, thanks thanks. Can't say it enough. Trish C. Portsmouth, RI read more

Jason and his staff are absolutely great! Helped me out when I was trying to find Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Teremana Tequila and they assured me they would have it soon. They even made contact with us and it made it to my house the same day it came out! Best store on island! Thanks Golds! read more

Rude, abrasive staff. Not to mention, prices were were way above those at other liquor stores nearby. I would definitely stay away from this place if you are looking for a safe, welcoming environment. read more

Great selection and service. Delivery too! Knowledgeable. I have been going for years and will continue to go back.

Gold's has the best selection of wines and specialty spirits. I have a gluten intolerance and Gold's employees helped me find the perfect vodka for those martini's! Love the Red's they secretly find and bring into the store for those of us with discriminating taste. Definitely my 'Go-To' for celebration time :-) Lynee read more

Great staff - friendly and knowledgeable, and a great selection! When one staff member didn't know much about the wine selection and what I was looking for he called on someone in the back who wasn't even working that day and he helped me out. This is our neighborhood liquor store and they are awesome!! We call and make our orders over the phone.. they also do curb side and you can pay over the phone so it is contactless if you want it to be!! I also don't think there has been a time I have gone in there that they have not offered to carry my purchase to the car for me..Also everytime I have mentioned wanting to try something or asking them to get it for us they always do if they can!!! They are very professional! read more

Excellent customer service, terrific selection and convenient location! Our go-to liquor store.

This is my favorite liquor store on the Island. They always greet you warmly when you enter and give you a sincere thanks when you leave. Although the space is small, they have something for every taste and budget. They are very helpful and will even carry your purchase out to the curb if your hands are full. Also, they have frequent wine and spirits tastings, discounts on 12 or more bottles of wine and a "rewards" program that gives you a credit after a certain volume of purchases. Nice place to shop--one that puts the customer first. read more

Great selection only exceeded by their great customer service. Met Jason (owner) who sources the spirits here and was more than impressed by his knowledge and love for his customers. I found everything I was looking for at great prices when the majority of the Newport market trend towards price gouging. Gold's just earned themselves a loyal customer, please visit Gold's for your wine and spirit needs. read more

Great location! On the way to Newport, we always grab snacks at the Middletown Stop and Shop then walk over to Gold's for some adult beverages before heading to Newport to hit up the beach or have a picnic. Thanks Yelp. Good selection and friendly service. I am traveling and was able to find good quality wines with screw tops. (Check it out. I'm not talking about cheap box wine or "ruin your nite") They have good wines and note those that score high on wine enthusiast list. read more

Nice selection of wines and spirits. The owner goes out of his way to find those 'Golden' deals for cases of wines so he can carry those special treats to his customers. 5 stars are deserved. Well done. read more

I always find the staff to be quite friendly and helpful if your looking for assistance. My only quibble would be that it's a smaller store, but I can usually find something to consume nonetheless. read more

What really sets this Liquor Store apart is the knowledge and service that comes from a passionate owner. I'll be the first to admit that I know little about wine. I wish I knew more! That's where owner Jason comes in. His passion and knowledge about wine, beer and spirits is exactly what I need to make the right choice - and not just fall back on the same old Sauv Blanc that I always get (it's Oyster Bay in case you were wondering). He'll be having you say "Yes way Rosé" or "I CAN drink tequila in this fancy margarita" in no time! And one more thing, we relied on Gold's Wine and Spirits for several large events we were hosting this summer - a Memorial Day cocktail party, Bachelorette party, Rehearsal Dinner, Wedding, and Funeral. For each event we called Gold's, explained the event and number of people - Jason made a calculated plan based on audience, our budget and even type of weather! On top of all of this, he even delivered to our venue! You can imagine what a relief it is to not have to worry about making these decisions under times of intense planning and stress. We will continue to call upon Gold's Wine and Spirits for all of our alcohol needs. Thank you Gold family! read more
