Parking in the back, shares it with Shaws and other business that are on Main Street. I will say the back entrance is a little clustery, but this whole building is. The floor creaked and I felt like as if the floor was going to fall through. There was also a woman on the phone in the pharmacy just loudly speaking "Sir this is the Pharmacy" a bit unprofessional but I can't imagine having to deal with complicated people. Some clearance items like keto matcha chocolate nuts, annie's bernie o's (I think I couldn't really tell when checking out if it really gave me the discount), gift cards, and some water. Overall spent a decent amount of money. Just would prefer going to another location before coming back here. read more

Oh my the world's worst pharmacy. I asked my Dr to refill a prescription and called CVS twice. They did not pick up. They then charged my insurance company for the medicine that I never received. Finally got a person on the phone and they could not find the prescription that I am being charged for. Next call the state and then medicare....Frauds and idiots. Horrible service. read more

Just waited 20 minutes to pick up a prescription that was sent over at 10am. It's still not ready 8hrs later. The tech told me they are 4 days behind on filling prescriptions and I could wait another 20 minutes for it to be filled!!! This is the 3rd time in a month I had this issue. Worst customer service at the pharmacy that I've ever received. I was greeted with nothing but negative attitudes, as if MY need for medication is an issue for THEM. I spent the last 2 years working at a doctors office and having to deal with countless pharmacies, this one is by far the worst. I have never, in my life, been talked down to in such a way over a medical issue that directly affects me, nobody else. It's, apparently, very inconvenient for the pharmacy staff to answer the phone, greet their customers politely, or handle their own mistakes on a professional manner. Their treatment towards their customers is absolutely unacceptable, intolerable, and something I wouldn't wish upon anyone that has to deal with medical issues. I think CVS is very convenient in the neighborhood in Melrose. I love the stuff seasonally they get in you can look at and buy and the closeouts after the season ends. I love if you need something you know they are there and open a lot. Very happy with this place. : ) read more

Terrible men who work in the pharmacy. The guys are rude and they tell me they don't have my script that I dropped off and I told them they lost it then two seconds later they say they have it. They tell me one thing and when I question them they are all of sudden accommodating to me. Getting authorization from the insurance was not easy from them since they kept telling me they didn't have it but when I called back and fourth and said my doctor sent it, they were oh yes we do have it. Like what's their deal? Why can't they try harder and it's like they have this authority complex with bad attitudes that can't bother to help me with my medicine. Super not helpful guys who work there. It's a shame because I never have had any issues with pharmacy's until these guys. I'm asking my doctor to move my pharmacy. read more

I have used this pharmacy for years considering I have chronic illnesses and often come to the pharmacy and I have never seen anything like I had today. A women had a shopping cart filled to the brim of popcorn bags because apparently today that was a free item and she had been distributed multiple extra care cards so was trying to score a deal on a bunch of free popcorn (hey I would too if the opportunity arose). She was getting yelled at and embarrassed in front of the whole store by a worker named Janine while trying to check out because it was against store policy and other people need to by those and that she was "basically stealing". Yet at the end of the day who distributed to her all the cards but CVS. Minutes later I see an older gentleman come over to her asking about what had happened and she proceeds to talk about the situation (that should've been handled privately) to a customer whom did not take part in the incident whatsoever, and doing it very loudly. The woman with the popcorn was Asian and the only reason this matters to this review is of the fact Janine proceeded to say phrases like "people like her" and something about trying to get away with things like this. Now I've never heard of an incident with people having multiple care cards and obtaining free items so I don't think those were the people like her that she was talking about. I had asked her for assistance so I could get her name and as she passed by the woman with the popcorn, Janine looked at her up and down and at her cart pretty nastily. I recently visited this CVS with my grandchildren on a very hot, humid day. i tried to buy 3 bottles of water at the express checkout. I encountered a problem and couldn't process my cash payment. I called the cashier and explained my problem,. In a nasty tone she told me that the machine doesn't take cash (seriously?) and that I can't read the sign. Has CVS recently sold to a foreign country? What business in the US does not accept cash? I am undergoing cancer treatment and need to be hydrated regularly especially on hot, humid days.I left my attempted purchase in the checkout area never to patronize a CVS again. I went to Shaw's next door, they gladly accepted my cash and am in the process of transferring ALL of my family's prescriptions. Not so great. All of the employees seem like they'd much rather be someplace else. I had prescriptions for two kids both in the same insurance both with the same prescription. However, I was told that one of the kids prescription could not be covered because they were not on my insurance. I showed the pharmacist my insurance card that clearly had the identification number on it. But was still denied coverage. I left CVS and called my insurance company and determined that a CVS employee had entered the number into the system wrong. I feel like this could've easily been rectified if the pharmacist had taken the time to call my insurance company. Instead I had to call my insurance company myself to ensure there was no issue on their end and then call CVS again. Where I finally discovered they had the wrong ID number in their system. I have gone to this pharmacy for many years, because it had been closest to my house. However during the last year, they made many mistakes on my prescription dosage, and have refused to follow up to figure out the source of the mistakes. This happened for three different prescriptions. One time I had to go back 7 times - and then it was the doctor's office that had to make special calls to tell them what they should be doing. In some cases, it appears that the problem is that they are using a lot of new pharmacy interns, who are not paid well and who do not really know what they are doing. I gave this store one star for having toothpaste and other stuff, but I will never go to the pharmacy again. There are plenty of other (competing) pharmacies that are in Melrose. read more

Horrible customer service, always a line and consistently understaffed. Their record administtration is very poor. They put you on auto refill without your consent and offer you a 3 month supply when historically you order a months supply. My sister went to get my prescripton for me and they did not have prednisone. This is the second time this month this has happened. My sister had to go to another town to pick it up. Sometimes the men in the pharmacy can be cantankeous. The people on the floor are very helpful. read more

Over the last two years the service here has consistently gone downhill. The assistants/techs at the counter often act like you are putting them out if you need a prescription looked up or filled. The lines are long, the hours are short, and they still blame their problems on the fact that the pharmacy down the street closed. That was over two years ago, they should be on top of it by now. After two years and at least 5 prescriptions a months they still do not know me or my family. This is hardly the family pharmacy that is advertised. They need to remember the prescriptions and guidance they are providing are for ill people and extra care and concern is needed. I have enjoyed some of the pharmacists themselves who have made more of an effort, but it does not make up for lousy service. read more
