This CVS has a pharmacy staff that lacks respect for their patrons. Now this is not a review of ONE experience but rather several over the last few years. You have to call 2 or 3 times to make sure your prescription is filled. Every. Single. Time. When Walgreens opened we switched there. So much better. If I don't feel like driving into the heart of Laurel (i live in the outskirts), I'll get my stuff filled at the new CVS in maple Lawn. Let me tell you, day and night. No...more like being in Pluto and being here on Earth with proper human interaction and proper customer service. So pharmacy sucks, yes it does. But the retail part is actually ok. Sure sometimes there's a line but that's ok with me. I like their over the counter baby medicine options. Their cashiers are always nice and make small talk. Ya know, they at least pretend they care. I don't go there unless it's in the middle of the night for something a doctor calls in. They don't take customers seriously, only doctors. This place is an absolute joke. I just waited for 40...40 minutes for them to mix my sons antibiotic. They were busy and behind the counter laughing and joking. 40 minutes to mix something that takes 30 seconds. Then when I said something the gentleman working got an attitude with me and didn't even explain the medicine he was giving me or the doses. I will be calling corporate on this store and I have the workers name. NEVER go back here again. read more

Aside from the pharmacy, I think this CVS is ok. The pharmacy though is the absolute WORST! They never have anything ready on time. The pharmacy staff is extremely rude and unprofessional, which is putting it mildly. Everyone who works in this pharmacy has a very nasty disposition with customers. The pharmacist always seems bothered and annoyed whenever you have a question about your prescription. I've watched her on several occasions toss people's medications into a basket after filling them which speaks volumes about her work ethic as well as her staff. My daughter's physician called in a prescription at 2pm, I arrived at 8pm to pick it up and was told it just arrived and wouldn't be ready until 10:15pm. Interesting that it just arrived 6 hours later, when I watched the doctor's office send it over at 2pm. Not to mention the fact that the doctor's office closed at 5pm. On a separate occasion my husband and I went to pick up two prescriptions that we were told were ready for pickup. Only one was ready. When we questioned the staff member about it, she behaved as if we were bothering her. She "looked" in the system then said to my husband "no there's only one" and went about her business. Leaving us standing at the counter. Then we get a call from the pharmacy three hours later (at 9pm ) that the doctor's office just sent the second prescription over and it would be ready in twenty minutes. Seriously?! Our doctor's office closes at 5pm. There's no way someone "just sent it over." Then there is the total lack of professionalism. On numerous occasions, I've witnessed the staff yelling across the pharmacy about their personal lives, ie - "oh guess who just text me! He said "blahblahblah" or "yes, I can't wait til I get off so I can go............(fill in the blank)." . I'm taking my business elsewhere. This is so ridiculous. read more

Love that this CVS is 24hrs. The store is very clean but like every other CVS I go to theres always long lines and never enough staff. The staff that does work there is very friendy and willing to help you locate anything you need. Was able to find everything I needed, the only problems were the lines and the location. Once outside was approached by a man who seemed very schizophrenic and very pushy and would not let my friend and myself leave in our car, we literally had to slam the door and pull of in a hurry on him. It seems like this location is always surrounded by people always asking for money outside or just trying to con you into buying something. I just wanna get in and get out safely. read more

Horrible customer service. Slow and wouldn't allow me to use a coupon that they sent me because the screen asked me if I wanted to update my email so I put in my new email address then was told that the coupon didn't match my account. He just linked the email! Prices are extremely high too read more

They are slower than a slug on Valium. Pharmacy staff are not to friendly either. Drive through staff are also not very friendly.

I was in there on 11/04/15 around 5:30 pm. I went in to pick up a prescription that my doctors office assured me had been called in and was ready for pick up. The entire store was severely understaffed. Tammy in the pharmacy was not only extremely friendly and helpful but she took her time to straighten out the confusion and fix the problem (my doctors office had made several errors when calling in the prescription so the pharmacy techs we're having difficulty finding it). I had to pick up a few other items I was there. I found my items and got in the long line for the front registers. The manager that was on duty was working hard and running between the pharmacy and the front registers to check out customers and help alleviate some of the heavy lines. I got closer to the front of the line. A woman had walked up to the front of the line and was yelling at the young male cashier about the wait time as though it were his fault. He was unfailingly nice to her. She was still demanding to see the manager and he happily paged him for her. When I made it to the front of the line the female cashier rang up my items I was also very friendly. I had to come back later in the evening to pick up my prescription. This time it was the manager that rang up my purchase. He was extremely friendly and nice. Not frazzled at all considering the evening he had had. I am very impressed with this store and their stellar staff. I'm very happy to have such a great CVS so close to home! read more

I come to this location often and there is a large parking lot and a drive-thru for the pharmacy in the back. I've never had any problems with the staff, however it can get busy at times and there can be a bit of a wait. However, the employees are generally friendly and will go the extra mile to help. It's a 24 hour, full service location so that is convenient! read more

By far one of the worst pharmacies I have ever been too. This is the second time of going to this pharmacy and have had the same problems with either getting my prescription or extremely unprofessional staff. After my doctor electronically sends my prescription I still need to go to drop off counter confirm it and wait again another 20 to 30 minutes. Last however go to this pharmacy. read more

This is the worst CVS I've ever been to and I have given them multiple chances. First off, never actually go inside to get a prescription filled or pick it up. It will take an hour, literally, versus the typically 35 mins it takes to get through the drive-thru. They seem to only have three people working at the pharmacy when the volume of prescriptions they get needs probably twice that working. They almost never have the prescription ready, even after I've left it there more than a day. After waiting on a 35 min drive thru, they usually say "oh, we haven't filled it yet. Come back in 20 mins." Um, I've left it there for days to be filled! I've had it with their incompetence. Go across the street to the CVS on Domer street. It's heaven in efficiency and customer service compared to this hellhole. read more

I called about a prescription and was on hold for over a half hour. When I got there in person, they weren't even answering the phone. When I got to the counter and asked, I was informed that "corporate" only scheduled 3 people for Sunday afternoon. Assuming that's true, corporate needs to do better, and recognize that Sunday afternoons need more staff. When I was leaving, the line was over an aisle long. This is unacceptable. read more

This pharmacy has always featured long lines, but in the last month or so, it has become totally dysfunctional. Now, you can expect to stand on a line at least 5 people deep at any time, even late at night, to pick up a prescription. Worse still, they fail to refill prescriptions with valid refills remaining because their computer tells them, erroneously, that no refills are left. Twice in one month this has happened to me. Both times, I completely ran out of my medication after several days of calling their voicemail and being told that the refill was in progress when, in fact, it was on hold indefinitely while they tried to call my doctor unnecessarily. To find out what's really going on, you either have to wait on hold for 30 minutes or more or go there in person. Tonight, I had to go down in person with an empty bottle and a receipt from the previous refill and fight with the CVS staff to get my medicine. Altogether, this took 1.5 hours: half an hour in the pick-up line, then a 10 minute argument requiring intervention by a supervisor, followed by a "10 minute" wait for the prescription that actually took 40 minutes, followed by another 10 minutes waiting in line again to pay. With these guys, there is always an excuse: they are understaffed, their computer system has bugs ("corporate has been informed"), etc. Enough already: a pharmacy is supposed to provide a vital public service and this one has failed the public trust. read more

Terrible staffing. I've been going here for years for 2 reasons and only these 2 reasons. It is the closest location to my home (CBS in nearby shopping center closed) and its 24 hours (which I really need because of the amount of meds and works schedule I deal with). No matter what time of day or day of the week i am always on hold for pharmacy at least 25 mins. I live so close that I have stayed on hold and drive up there many times just to wait in line while they laugh and chit chat and hear "4 pharmacy calls" replay on a speaker phone. Customers patiently waiting to be answered while they (usually 4-6 employees behind the pharmacy counter) conversate about foolishness irrelevant to there jobs. I hate the pharmacy department and have spoke to store manager and pharmacy manager 4 times prior to this review. Deserves 0 stars. Something needs to be done about this. Seems like no one cares about the constant complaints. Where is there district manager? Why does he/she not care about this ongoing problem that can be read about on Google and Yelp? read more

We usually use the CVS pharmacy in Fulton and have no issues. They were out of ear drops so they called Laurel CVS, which had them, and transferred Rx there. Driving the 15 minutes, I waited in the pick up line (which was incredibly busy) for Wednesday at 1:30pm. After waiting 15 minutes or so, the person told me he couldn't find it in the system and maybe the drop off line could help. Confused on how another line could provide other information, I moved to another very long drop-off line, waited and called CVS Fulton. CVS Fulton said the prescription was there, in my child's profile, on hold. After another 15 minutes, I told this to a different person, who said it was processing. I asked how long and was told 25 minutes. I told him my husband would be by to pick it up. During our wait, a audio message kept saying, "3 calls holding, 2 calls holding". So they were really busy. Three hours later, I called to make sure it was ready as husband would be there in 30 minutes. Yes, I was told it's processing now. 30 minutes later, my husband arrived and was told 15 minutes and to move to another line. Next line, told him it was put in the wrong place and would be ready soon. Once they rang up the Rx, it was $25 which is $20 more than we usually pay. He said we just bought an oral antibiotic for $5 at cvs Fulton, don't you have the same information?? Frustrated, he just paid it and left... but morale of the story... don't go to this one!!!! read more

There is always a long line no matter the time of day. The pharmacists often do not have your prescription ready or refill the incorrect one. They continue to use dated information after you have updated your contact info with them and there is no benefit to being a member. Waste of time. read more

This is beyond the WORST customer service I've ever received and even witnessed to someone else.... Very unprofessional workers! I've been in customer service for many years and I know it can be hard to hold back words but at the end of the day it's your job to be respectful. This is by far the worst pharmacy I have ever used. My prescription was called in by my doctor at noon. I called the pharmacy at 6 PM to verify it was in the system and was told to allow an hour for it to be filled. My wife and I stopped by a little after 9 PM and I was told it was not ready and to allow another hour. We went to a late movie and when we checked after 12 midnight was told to allow another 15 minutes! When I asked what the problem was, I was told to give him a minute and he walked away from the drive-thru never to be seen again. I pressed the call button several times and even honked my horn a couple of times to no avail. Thank God this was only for diabetic testing supplies. If this was a life threatening need or for pain...I shutter to think. I do not recommend using this pharmacy! If I could have given it zero stars, I would have. read more

The other day I had to pick up a prescription and I went to the drive thru window at 8am. There was a car in front of me when I got there just pulling away. As I pulled up to the window the pharmacy clerk closed it, I assumed to take care of someone in the store. I rang the bell to let them know I was waiting and I waited. When it seemed like nobody was coming I rang again. When I looked into the store I saw the two clerks/pharmacists standing near the counter (I could have waved at them and they would have seen me). The one of them got on his cell phone. I rang a third time. When it was clear I was not going to be helped I parked my car and went into the store. So much for the convenience of the drive thru. Once in the store I waited behind one person at the pharmacy counter. When it was my turn I asked for my prescription and the clerk retrieved it for me. At that point I wanted to know what the store procedure was for helping pharmacy customers (i.e., do they help everyone in the store before going to the window, do they take people in the order they arrive (which would mean they have to look at the window), or do they have some other system. I was thinking that at the very least when someone rings the bell they should be told that they will be helped soon. Anyway, when I inquired to the clerk I got no answer. When I explained that I was at the window first and it didn't seem like I would be helped the clerk told me that she had just gotten there and wasn't responsible for anything; in a rather "bothered" tone. The pharmacist then came over to see if she could help. I explained that I rang 3 times and just wanted to know what their process was for helping customers. She too got a bit defensive, telling me that she didn't hear the bell. No one apologized and no one gave me any useful information. In fact the other pharmacist, who was on his cell phone, had changed out of his lab coat and was going to leave the store after standing through the exchange with no input to be helpful. Needless to say I left the store very frustrated. To top off my experience, when I got home my prescription for 90 pills only had 30 in the bottle so I will have to make another trip back to the store. I'm not looking forward to that. When we first got our new CVS in Laurel I was very happy to switch pharmacies. It was convenient and I was very pleased with the customer service at CVS when they were new. They were always well staffed; they managed to efficiently take care of long lines of customers; my prescriptions were always ready when promised and correct! My sense of the store now is inefficient, unhelpful, rude and uncaring. It could be stressful already for people to have to pick up medication and with the poor customer service you offer it only makes it that much more difficult to want to exposure yourself to that experience. You can change your name all you want, CVS Health, but if you don't offer better customer service you'll lose customers. I hope you'll lose customers because I sense that's the only way anything will improve; if it hits your bottom line. All I needed was someone to tell me they would be right with me and then when they couldn't they should have explained and apologized. The problem with not getting the correct number of pills is another issue altogether. read more

This is the worst CVS in the Laurel, MD area. The pharmacist and the drive thru clerk were rude. Every time I come to this store there is a problem. I called to make sure before I went there that my prescription was ready and it wasn't even though I was told that it would be. It almost never is ready when they promise it to you. The staff doing the drive thru today were assholes and so is the head pharmacist in charge. She is fully aware that this clerk was treating folks badly and yet does nothing about it. The store is dirty and unorganized and the little fucktard who worked the drive thru window tonight 7/31/15 should find another place of employment if he doesn't like his job, because its pretty clear that he doesn't. I am moving my business to Walgreen's next door. I know that it won't make a difference but I simply can't handle this store anymore. Do not go there, seriously avoid them if you can. read more
