Before I had even left the doctor's parking lot, Avalon called me to talk about the prescription and to tell me they were starting to fill it already. (Super fast!). I was able to pick it up on my way home. On another visit, I was able to get medication filled while I waited. They are also stocked with other medical-related supplies as well. I do NOT recommend East Pines Pharmacy!…read more They are the preferred pharmacy by Children's National and MedStar hospitals -- meaning case managers default to sending prescriptions to East Pines Pharmacy rather than more conveniently located pharmacies closer to where patients live. And despite all these hospital referrals to that pharmacy (and all the business they get as a result), they still haven't invested in an online ordering system, which means you have to call them to request refills or deliveries but they often don't pick up the phone, which is extremely frustrating. Further, when they ship medication that requires refrigeration, they provide inadequate insulation and ice packs and they've routinely arrived in the mail lukewarm rather than at the proper cooled temperature.

The woman behind me had been there 3 times that day trying to get back pain medicine and it still wasn't ready. I prefer a local, neighborhood pharmacy like Broadway Pharmacy in Lemon Grove. Base upon the Yelp reviews, I telephoned Lawson's. Dr. Ram greeted me as if I were a long-time customer and asked me to have my pharmacist call him. At 12 noon EST, I called my pharmacist who is PST: I explained I inadvertently left a prescription at home. She then called Dr. Ram and I drove the couple of blocks to pick up my prescription. It was a pleasure doing business with Dr. Ram! I took a few of his business cards and gave them to my sister and her neighbors; as he had several existing clients on her street.
