I was sent home with a script that required I start taking it immediately to avoid further infection and possible hospitalization. It'll be ready in 2 days was their response. Only when I insisted (quite firmly) that this was very serious and needed filled immediately only than did they have it filled in a few hours. While there I could see just how busy everyone was. This place must do a hell of a business both local and afar due to their specialty but compared to my little family owned regular pharmacy they fell short. I didn't feel I got personalized attention and because they are so busy and treat so many clients they lost touch with their customers. Not knowing your customers and knowing their medical and script history can lead to mistakes is my thought process. I know first hand that my regular pharmacy knows me so well that a few times they brought things to my attention when new medications were added to my regimen that even my doctor missed. On the plus they do deliver and send scripts thru the mail. Neither was offered to me, and I'm sure that's an additional cost. They do stay open late, in fact I think the hours listed are wrong as I had a friend who worked there well after midnight. But got the impression that they will not fill scripts while you wait. So while I am grateful they're able to fill my unusual formulation, I'm also happy to stick with my regular pharmacy, Smithgall's for everything else.

She dropped everything she was doing to open up the register closest to him, leading me to say, "I was next." She called somebody over from the photo area to ring me up. I wait a full 30 seconds to tell her what I need. She hautily scans them up without a word. She likes to wear acrylic nails and her brown hair pulled up in a twist. Her glasses prove she had better times, but she's still ringing people up at Rite Aid, and needs to get over herself. Smithgall's is probably one of the few surviving non-chain neighborhood pharmacies. It's a typical corner store in a residential area, with beautifully restored older homes. It's the opposite of a big box chain. Smaller selection, however I saw products (Sea Breeze!) that I haven't seen in a store. This may be because the shelves are not jammed with stuff. No self checkout. The staff are lovely and welcoming. The woman at the counter answered questions with cheer, and quickly checked customers out. The prices were...reasonable. A 20 oz bottle of soda cost $1.50 for example, which is on par with others. It's just a lovely place, and I'm sure we'll stop in next time we're in Lancaster, even if it's out of the way.

There is an entrance close to the parking lot. I went in and began to look for sudafed. The place, like all other CVS stores that I've been to, is huge. Found the allergy section & started looking for relief. There were 2 other girls in the same aisle. Apparently, the cold season has begun. A friendly sales associate appeared and helped the young ladies, then asked me if I needed anything. I guess I looked & sounded really bad because he made sure to point out the Kleenex on special. I grabbed that, too. I wanted some bottled water to take back to my room & he was nice enough to carry it to the register for me. The sales associate at the register was friendly and waited patiently while I got my phone out for her to scan my CVS card through the app. There was also a $2 off reward that I could use, so they showed me how to add that to my card. While she was ringing me up, the previous associate pointed out the sale table. There are $2 iPhone 6plus cases. What the heck! They aren't the best, but I figured, what's $2? Hubby likes the fitness supplements and protein powders. Their selection of these items are pretty plentiful too. Prices are kinda all over the place, depending on the product but overall probably higher than say going to CVS.
