First of all, the deals are't good. The best you're going to do is get a reasonable price, but only after you sort through a 75 feet long receipt and scan for your extra bucks and break out the excel spreadsheet to apply the 95 different categories of coupons and combined offers and WHO THE HELL HAS TIME FOR THIS BULLSHIT! If I can rate below a 1 star, I would. I don't typically rate places to give a negative review but this pharmacy was just so rude and disrespectful, I couldn't not say anything about it. I'm in the medical field and I was shocked to see that the staff at the pharmacy just does not seem to care about their patients and it makes me question why they are in the healthcare field in the first place. I was denied Covid testing at this clinic when I arrive on site, without forewarning, due to my insurance. I fly internationally in 3 days and needed this test and they flat out denied me due to my insurance, offered me no solution and even got verbal aggressive with me when I was asking questions to understand the situation better. I offered to pay out of pocket as I needed this test but they again, denied me and said only insurance can cover cost, not patients. We are in the middle of a pandemic and I was denied Covid testing because of my insurance? Does that even make sense? I got Covid testing at another CVS two months ago in Glen Burnie for my internship at a hospital and didn't have this problem with my insurance then so I couldn't understand why I was having this problem at this specific CVS. And they got aggressive at me for asking what changed. After no help, I left to stressfully call other clinics for a rapid Covid test. I was able to book a Covid test at another CVS in Urbana the same day, later in the evening. Everything went smoothly, I had no issues with them and I was able to get my test results for my flight within 15mins of taking the test. It was clear that they had some type of prejudice against me and just did not care to offer me any help on how I could get tested before my flight in 3 days. I've never been treated this way for just asking questions. This pharmacy staff needs to do better and remember why they are in the field in the first place. Show empathy and don't raise your voice at patients in front of the entire waiting room airing out personal information. Just do better. read more

Let me tell you guys of the unprofessional medical staff there. To start with I got accused of being late to my appointment when I checked in AN HOUR prior to my scheduled appointment. Instead of announcing the next patient in the check in list they decided to just attend a person who was JUST checking into the kiosk. Then the Doctor has the audacity to accuse me of not having my phone number updated in the system when they never opened my profile to verify my correct contact information. They were calling a HOME number instead of MY MOBILE. I waited 3 HOURS to have them tell me they didn't have the equipment they needed for the test I needed. GOOD LUCK to those who have to deal with them. Now I will say the CVS staff minus the medical associates were very friendly & kept checking in on me to make sure I was doing well. read more

Oh boy. Went here this evening for my bivalent covid booster and the pharmacist flubbed the injection. She didn't put the needle in deep enough and some of the dose streamed down my arm. When she saw it leaking, she laughed and said "I was worried I didn't put the needle in deep enough." I asked if it would be a problem and she said probably not. Left a big itchy pink bump on my arm and now I'm worried I won't be fully protected because I didn't get the full dose, but there's nothing I can do because you can't get two. Pretty bad experience all around. Constant hang-ups when placed on hold. On 3 occasions I've dropped off prescriptions at night and asked to pick it up the following morning only to be told they ran out on the verified pick-up day. 1 time they had forgotten and filled it up on the spot(omw to work during rush hour) Post is fueled by phone call just now being hung up on then getting a mean lady with sass. I even tried it three times with the same medication to see if they could get it right but the staff are incompetent and automatic voice mail they do that tell you it is ready or not is the worse! You could come here. But you run the risk of them not having your prescription. Then, when they tell you they don't have, act ambivalent and completely not helpful in locating it. My daughter is supposed to start a new prescription tomorrow am. They were out. They were out the last time she needed a refill of an old medication. So, two prescriptions in a row in less than a week they were out of. And could not be forthcoming when their supply would come in. Also, provide misinformation - like when I said I am going to transfer the prescription, only to be told OK, then later that I couldn't because I had to call the pediatrician and have the doctor call it to another pharmacy. read more

I tried unsuccessfully for almost an hour to make an online appointment for a Covid booster at the Darnestown Road CVS where I had gotten my previous two boosters. Every store within 30 miles came up but this one. Called the store to ask for help and was told to come in before 4:00 on Thursday as a walk-in. Went in and was told that I had to make an online appointment. When I explained that I had tried unsuccessfully to do so and was told to come in as a walk-in (which they advertise as an option), I was told that I had to have an online appointment. I recently visited the new beauty department inside cvs and wow it was like being at Sephora , Donna works there along with doing piercings ( who knew you could get ears pierced at cvs!) anyways I had questions about finding a new foundation and didn't want to drive far and pay a lot . She was so nice and warm, I was truly expecting to just buy a foundation probably not the correct color for my skin and make the best of it. She took the time to show me different brands and help me find my color. She has experience with makeup and couldn't be more kind. My daughter and her friend went in to get medicine after school and they complied with there policy and proceeded to leave there back packs in the front before going in, but as they walked in the cashier looked and them and asked them if they were Highschool student. As they said yes she told them to get out. After getting out of work I had to drive my daughter there to get her medication and I requested to speak to the manager. He told me they had a lot of kids from the Highschool come in and steal, and that kids are not allowed there during school hours. I told him she came in after school. He said the cashier just might have been a little to vigilant. As I was standing there talking to him there were lots of teen kids there and I asked him how come they get shop and my daughter could not and again he said it's after school and again I told him she also came in after school. I just believe my daughter and her friend were profiled because of their appearance. It's very disappointing that the staff automatically is judging and assuming they were there to steal. read more

Convenient for picking up prescriptions since CVS calls you when it's ready to be picked up. Next to the pharmacy, there's a machine to check your blood pressure. My only issue is that the makeup is overpriced. I bought the FIT Me foundation by Maybelline for $9 here, where I have bought the exact same product for $6-7 at Target (only $6 at one point thanks to a coupon). Sometimes it is really worth being "stuck" out in the suburbs! This is amazing (almost unbelievable, actually) -- I found a nice, clean, well-stocked and organized CVS with (wait for it!) helpful, friendly and customer service oriented staff! Toto, we're not in DC anymore! Seriously, in 10 years of living in DMV, I have not come across a single CVS where at least one employee was not surly, or where there was not a long disorganized line at the registers, or where everything seemed to be in its place. However, I stopped at this brand new CVS twice this weekend - once to pick up several items, and a second time to return one of the aforementioned items. I saw and overheard several interactions between staff and customers. Toto, we might be in Kansas -- no one in DMV is that friendly!!! When I asked about the location of facial tissue, I was kindly pointed to a large display and even helpfully told that Puffs were on sale for $1.69! This store was so large, clean and well-lit that I was quite tempted to just wander the aisles and spend oodles of money on unnecessary nail polish, Easter candy, soda, toothbrushes (highly necessary after so much sugar), random office supplies and cheapie sunglasses. NOTE: Even the CVS website does not have the correct address of this place. It is no longer in the Potomac Valley Shopping Ctr. It is conveniently located between the California Tortilla/YogiCastle and Safeway on Darnestown Road. So, if driving east on Darnestown, cross Quince Orchard, it'll be to the right soon after the Chevy Chase Bank. But if you're driving south on Quince Orchard, turn right onto Darnestown. NOTE 2: Because these are the far out suburbs, I do not believe that this CVS (nor anything else around here) is open 24 hrs. read more

The associate told me to get to an Urgent Care clinic right away and I'm so glad I did. Turns out it was a tick bite! I was in & out of CVS in less than five minutes & on my way to Urgent Care. I will NEVER go to this location again. What bunch of incompetent boobs. I went on a Monday to the Minute Clinic here, which transmitted 2 scrips and handed me a 3rd signed one I'd have to give at intake. The lady said 15-20 minutes, and they weren't crazy busy. I'm sick as a dog and coughing up a lung, but busy myself w email, Facebook, etc. Feels like it's taking a while...what, it's been an HOUR? I get in line to ask. The one person in front of me, it takes at least 5 minutes to check out a few items. Routine, no price checks, and just picking up a scrip they dropped off yesterday. Prob w their scrip. Five more minutes later it's finally my turn. The lady at the counter is apologetic and nice, and digs around for my scrips, that were all clearly marked as "waiting". Nothing. Asks one of the 3 pharmacists, and the mad scramble to START filling them begins. She returns and rings them up. As I start to leave, I double check, and find one missing. Scrambles again...nothing...asks for the scrip copies from Minute Clinic. She says I needed to hand the signed one in...I say I did...she asks why it was handed back to me, they needed to keep that signed copy...umm, how would I know? Scrambles to fill that one, for robitussin w codeine. Rings me up...says oh you used to live iat xxx...umm, no...shows me the bag w my info. Nope, not my info...name was close, address is halfway across the country. They didn't even notice that they put the scrip in the wrong name, for a narcotic. I was in and out of Minute Clinic in 15 minutes, tops. I finally left the CVS pharmacy 1 hr, 25 mins after leaving the intake desk. Never. Again. 1 star...because zero isn't an option. read more

Really one of the worst CVS - in terms of their pharmacy. They've sent text messages saying that my prescription is ready, and when I've arrived, it wasn't even available. They've given me quotes on the cost of the drugs, and then charged me more than what they quoted when I went to pick it up. I've called the pharmacy and been hung up on in multiple occasions. They are incredibly unorganized and their customer service is AWFUL. Went here for a regular med refill, got helped by a wonderful tech who was so gracious and delighted to solve my insurance problems that stumped other pharmacies. Truly a wonderful time, yeah the wait times were a little long but insurance and preparing the meds takes careful consideration since you or I am not trained to handle doctors offices, Insurance agents, medication management, or much less even know the names of the meds or where they are in the pharmacy. Many of the employees working there have been at this location for (3) or more years....that says a lot about a CVS franchise. You will pay a premium like you do at all CVSs but their inventory is solid, their customer service is excellent and there is rarely a long wait. I kept holding off on writing a review of the store pharmacy but today's experience forced me to write one. I tried to drop off a prescription - one that I've been getting filled for the past several months. I was told that they didn't have the medication in stock, and the pharmacist is out until Friday and will check availability then. That's two days from now just to find out when it *might* be back in stock! Needless to say I simply shook my head in disgust and walked out. Previous visits have also been frustrating. People standing in line waiting to pick up prescriptions while the pharmacist in back is carrying on a loud conversation with a customer in line rather than actually working. Dropping off a prescription two hours before closing time only to be told the pharmacist is overworked and it won't be ready until the next day. And not until 11 am at that. Horrible every time. So this is just for the pharmacy. The store itself is great! But I've never seen such an incompetent and rude pharmacy staff! Over the past 9 months or so we have had 4 prescriptions called in to them by physicians. None (that's right, NONE) have been received. Every time I go to pick them up I get the same "are you sure they sent it?" It's been a couple of different doctors so I doubt all of the doctors made mistakes. Some of the pharmacy staff is great but there are a couple of them that are extremely rude and seem annoyed when you ask a question. I've started driving out of my way to go to the CVS is target. If I could give -stars I would. NEVER do they have my medication and they say it's because of high demand. I was looking for a 24 hour pharmacy because not only do I work during the day but I share a car with my son and by the time he gets home local pharmacies are closed. I asked her (pharmacist) if she could call a local CVS to see if they had it (I was Ubering) and she said "no because we don't give that info over the phone .. You could be a robber" WTH!!!!
