Stopped in here after eating breakfast next door to get some deodorant and vitamins, they were out of my vitamin, so that sucked but got my ladies Mitchum. A must need in this hot and humid weather! Pharmacist seemed bothered when I asked where things were being I've never been in this location. It is quite big, clean and stocked well. Alexander the cashier was great at customer service, which is usually void at any CVS in my opinion. They have some good sales going on right now. Shares the lot with many other businesses so parking is plentiful. I'd shop here again if in the area. read more

On July 3rd of 2021, I walked into cvs in Costa Mesa (Adams and Royal Palm [which I have been coming to for about 8 years since I live right over on Royal Palm]) wearing my motorcycle clothing (I was coming home from a little Saturday ride), was carrying my Shoei motorcycle helmet,  and was wearing an Adidas "Pride" hat. The moment I walked in, a woman I have never seen before who was working there was giving me a nasty look as I walked in and never said hi or anything (that is minimal, but usually the employees do). I walked towards the section with face washes and such because I was looking at facial moisturizer, so I picked up the Cetaphil brand and CVS brand to compare them,  then put them back and decided to not get one yet (not that it matters, but I didn't buy one because my fiancé works at Walgreens and he gets a discount on products). I started to walk out and this lady screams out that I am stealing and better put back everything I took, in front of 5 other customers and another employee! I was confused and calmly said I don't steal, and said "watch, the alarm won't go off" and stepped into the detectors in the front of the store, which as I said, they didn't go off. She said it's because they only detect certain items (makes no sense) and so I walked towards the counter and turned my pockets inside out and opened my motorcycle jacket, where nothing was there.  She loudly  said I am stealing again, so I said to get a manager and look at the security tapes, I don't know what she is talking about. She said she is the manager,  she isn't going to look at the tapes and I am banned for life and I better leave, she is calling the police. This whole time I was calm (mostly since I was in disbelief). I went home and my dad went in the store to ask about it and tell them to look at the security tapes while I waited in the parking lot. Turns out that woman was not a manager, but the manager did hear the whole thing going on, yet  never came over or intervened or or did anything to stop her from yelling at a customer, accusing them of stealing in front of another employee and 5 other customers;  He didn't even offer to look at the security tapes. When my dad demanded he(the manager) do so, he said he can't look at the footage (in most stores, any employee can look at the tapes by the way, plus there is an active security guard at this center who obviously can) so we have to wait until the district manager came in the next day for them to review the footage and they would call us back by noon the next day. We called corporate the following day around 1 pm and made a complaint. Corporate said we will be called back within 2 business days. To keep this shorter, for a month, I was calling corporate to ask about it, they would say a higher up was getting the complaints this time (side note, the customer service reps were great and really did all they could for me), and no one would call back. About two months later, a manager from that store called me and said he heard I had a complaint or something and wanted to hear what I was saying happened, but kept cutting me off and said he looked at the tapes, but didn't know what she said though he saw her yelling and such.  He just said "she isn't usually here,  she was from a different store" and basically said thanks for giving him info and said goodbye. I am not a suspicious person, I showed that lady my pockets and inside my jacket, etc. (Which I shouldn't even have done since corporate and everyone else doesn't care), stepped through the detectors, etc. And the items I was looking at are big bottles anyways,  there is no way I could have hidden that in the first place.  So the only thing that makes sense is my pride hat, which I said to customer service, managers, etc. And it made no difference to those that were in charge.  I own my own business, was wearing over $1,500 worth of equipment that day,  I am friendly and not weird acting at all, I have no reason to steal a $10 bottle of face moisturizer. Nothing has been done or answered for this. Thanks to this worker and the bad/non-response from higher ups, I don't shop at CVS anymore and tell everyone else to avoid giving them business. At least avoid giving business to this store which supports homophobic, unprofessional behavior towards customers. Those customers who are my neighbors since I live nearby in there that day will always see me and think I am a thief and liar thanks to that day.  I hope someone from corporate or a higher up sees this and actually does something.  Side note of advice: employees should never yell that someone is stealing in front of other customers and such especially. A bad person (and with all the drug addicts and such around Costa Mesa, there is no shortage of them) could hurt the employee, customers, etc. read more

Went in for a scheduled flu vaccine and the place was crowded. The pharmacy manager Trang offered to administer our shots so we wouldn't have to wait. She was kind and had a great sense of humor! We appreciated her very much. Thank you! read more

My husband and I went to have a Covid test for an upcoming trip to Hawaii. They state that the results will be posted on My Chart within 1 or 2 days which is what we needed to fly to Hawaii. My results did NOT arrive in time and I missed my trip. Exactly one week later they called to let me know that my test results had been lost. How does a company mis manage test results that are time sensitive?? I will NEVER step inside a CVS pharmacy for anything. The rest of the travelers went to Walgreens and got their results in 24 hours!!! read more

I feel like I need to take a shower after I visited this CVS recently. The inside looks somewhere between a crummy liquor store and a dollar store. And that's an insult to dollar stores. Merchandise strewn about, dirty dark stains on that cvs carpet (whoever made that decision should be fired), many items out of stock (dUe To cOvId). Won't be back. CVS pharmacy is a great place to get things you need on the go. I also love how after you pay, they give you long receipts with a lot of coupons on them. I usually save the receipts and make them into a scarf for when I'm cold during the brisk ocean nights. The customer service at this location has always been great- it's nice to know if I'm looking for something specific I'll be taken care of. The fact that there's one on every corner is very convenient during late night runs or traveling out of town. I love CVS pharmacy! read more

Literally the worst pharmacy I've ever dealt with. Most likely they won't have your medication or you will wait days. On more than one occasion they claimed they didn't have my medication request from my dr., Ive called my dr and it had been sent in. Wait time is horrible. I come here only for convenience from my home and every time I regret it. Save your time and frustration and drive further if you have to. read more

Every time I go to fill or pick up RX there is an issue. Literally every time. They actually lost my written RX and now it's a weekend and I have to wait for the doctor to contact them. This is every month of my life. I have two children and between calling and driving there I have waisted too much time dealing with their rude and incompetence. read more

Absolute worst service. Avoid at all costs unless you like waiting in line for a cashier. They are never staffed appropriately. Shelves are never stocked and the pharmacy is a laughing stock. I stood in line to see them turn several people away because their prescriptions were not filled or were "out of stock". Same thing happened to me but they told me to come back in 15. I have had nothing more than such a fantastic experience shopping here. I do feel bad for how undervalued each worker is now a days, they are all always so kind and helpful. I just don't see how people will tend to ruin the employment staff by being disrespectful always yelling at them and never allowing them to speak its always I need a manager because you just are so disrespectful to me(yes I witnessed people treat the employees poorly on a daily). As much as these people try their hardest to continue improving on the store, they gave out candy this Halloween just to be generous to everyone. If you truly want a fantastic experience just pay them with respect as if they ARE HUMAN BEINGS and not be so rude and harsh to these poor people who always are understaffed unfortunately. I love this location and will continue to shop here each day even if I don't want to buy anything Ill still go in and grab some gum or candy just to check on the employees and make their day just a lil more beautiful. My son was discharged from the hospital with a heavy antibiotic. My normal CVS was out of stock so they had to find one to fill it. I went to pick it up and had a consultation with the pharmacist. 20ml 3x a day for 6 days. She mixed the antibiotic, grabbed a dropper to dispense and showed me which line to fill to for the correct amount. Maybe it was my lack of sleep from being in a hospital for 3 days with my sick son, but the pharmacist gave me a dropper for mg, not ml, so my son has been getting a much lower dosage of the much needed antibiotic. I was livid once I realized we had a ton of it left. You would think you could trust a pharmacist to do her job properly!! Unbelievable! I have to call the doctor and explain the situation and see what we need to do to make sure my son is getting enough on the antibiotics needed. And if I could give 0 stars I would. Never coming here again. read more

If I could o would give them half of a star. Michael was the worst manager I had to deal with. Didn't want to help at all. My son with his little money bought a gift card. when we got home it didn't show that it was activated. When we went back to let them know he said it wasn't his problem and to call apple. So we did apple said that it wasn't activated correctly. I called cVS and Michael didn't help at all. He wanted me to wait and talk to the CVS help line. I have to say for a CVS this location is pretty good. I had to stop in here the other day to refill a prescription and the woman behind the counter was really helpful. I was a little confused about the details of my medication but she explained everything really well and make sure that I was clear about it all before I left. Aside from the pharmacy there is also a pretty great selection of items there. I was looking for some shower products and was pleasantly surprised that they carried an all-natural brand that I really enjoy. There aren't too many people that work there so sometimes you're waiting awhile to get help but I have always had good experiences with them when I'm there. There can be a questionable crowd there at night because of the area but during the day it's fine. read more

I don't know what it is about this place, but there always seems to be a strange array of people wandering through here. I've come to not be surprised when I see someone talking to the tube of antibacterial hand wipes, or just looking through me as though they either A) don't know I exist, or B) are shooting laser beams at me through their eyes. I can't say it's my favorite place, but in the evenings it's not usually that crowded, and if I need something body related, namely lotion or shampoo, the selection is better here than down at Vons. read more

I've been going to this location for quite some time and although I am not thrilled with it, its close. The pharmacy is not fast - you always have to drop off. The selection of products here is small and the place isn't generally well kept. What drove me to write this review is the photo department. I sent photos in (all of 12 total) to be printed for the same day. I did this through their app. I received an email confirm that the photos were ready for pickup, just a few hours later. I went into the store and they told me they didn't have the photos, that I must have sent them to a different location. I assured them it was this location. They then looked through the system, saw I submitted them and told me they needed to be re-printed. Since I couldn't wait, I told them I would return the next day. The next day, the same exact employee helped me. When I asked for my photos, he went off to look for them. After keeping me at the register for about 8 minutes and not telling me what was going on, I approached him. He told me they weren't printed. I said I couldn't understand how you helped me yesterday, told me you were printing them right then and there, and now they're gone again? I walked out. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

It has been a year since I wrote my last review and this place has not gotten any better. I went a week ago to pick up my prescription in the drive thru. I had my dogs in the car so I had to go through the drive thru since I wasn't about to leave my dogs in a car when its been 80 degrees lately. (I don't even leave them in there if its raining) I no joke.. sat in the drive thru for 22 minutes. There was ONE car in front of me... and she was transferring her prescription from a different CVS... The SMART thing to do would have been to tell her to come back in fifteen minutes... but instead i sat as the middle car stuck waiting in line for 22 minutes... After about 20 minutes of waiting, the car behind me left, and I waited two more minutes and drove off.. LATER THE SAME DAY I cam back to get my prescription (still having the dogs in the car as we had gone to dog beach) and I waited almost fifteen minutes behind ONE CAR.... The drive thru is suppose to be fast... I don't know what you guys are doing in there to make it take so long. read more

I usually don't leave reviews but I am so frustrated with their pharmacy. I was prescribed an inhaler that would be $100 with insurance and given a coupon that would cover the cost for 3 months. I have never used a coupon to cover prescriptions so I gave both the coupon and prescription order to the pharmacy staff and told it would be an hour wait. I was standing there about 10 minutes trying to drop it off and was ignored until I really tried to get their attention. I was given attitude even though I was polite. They never texted me when it was ready so I ended up just going the next day to check on it. When I was picking up the prescription the pharmacist told me it was going to be $100. I was confused and asked about the coupon which they then told me I would have to activate, I didn't have an issue with that, but I wish they had told me when I dropped it off. I asked if I could have the coupon so I could activate it, but they must've thrown it away or something so the pharmacist gave me a phone number to call and an ID I would need. I called and activated it yesterday and just went in to pick it up. Same thing, $100 payment. If I had the money I would just pay for it, but I'm 21 and in college so I'm a bit strapped to pay $100 a month for a prescription. I completely understand that they can't do anything about it, but have been really unhelpful with this whole process and always give attitude. I wouldn't leave a negative review if they had just been nice about it, but they make me feel like I'm wasting their time. tldr: The pharmacy staff is really rude read more

I just wanted to get my passport pictures taken and the cashier was running around with two cameras in her hand for good 15 minutes and just kept repeating "something's wrong with the camera; i don't know". First time I came in for the flu shot they were really helpful and nice. I recently called the pharmacy for another vaccine to see if it was covered by my insurance and the girl on the phone was so rude. My son and I went to get our flu shot at CVS. We stood in line and we told that we're here for our flu shot. We filled a form and we were told to wait. Just about everyone that was there was getting a flu shot. Instead of getting into the right line, they were standing all over the place. It was SO unorganized!!!! Normally, it would have taken us at least 10 minutes, but we were there for at least 45 minutes!! read more

CVSs in general are always depressing, they're dimly lit (for a pharmacy), have hideous brown carpet, those obnoxious yellow sale signs and 2/$3 candy .. but this one takes the cake since at any given time its aisles are lined with the Costa Mesa crackhead bunch muttering gibberish under their breaths..I'm giving three stars though because their staff is pretty friendly. read more

This pharmacy has terrible staff with basically no knowledge of medication and insurance policies my girl friend was on the phone with them and in person and got treated very rudely about her birth control. and we will never be returning there. I would highly recommend never going to this location again. There are much more options then this locally. read more

I have been filling prescriptions at this CVS for almost a year now. The people who work in the pharmacy are very nice and always prompt. There is also one lady who works there who is really funny and it's great to see people who enjoy their job. I have had really bad experiences at other pharmacies such as Walgreens and Rite Aid where the prescription is not ready when it is supposed to be. The workers are always very rude too.
