I came here for a vaccination almost by happenstance. I work across the street at the hospital (I have for over 20 years). I used to go to the local RiteAid in Long Beach near where I live, but when they closed, I started going to CVS as everything was automatically transferred to them. Anyway, I had recently gotten my first in the shingles vaccination series (yes, I am very old ha ha) and had an appointment for my second one about 5 days prior to me writing this review. Anyway, over the course of several days, the CVS app informed me that the pharmacy canceled my appointments for some unknown reason. I tried several times to reschedule but was unable, also for unknown reasons (see below). Trying to get a human in any CVS store was nearly impossible, so I started calling local pharmacies and found Mariners right in the backyard of my workplace. So convenient. Then, the sun arose on a new approach as to how I was treated: I phoned Mariners Pharmacy and talked to a human. I was able to get an appointment on the same day for this vaccination. Easy enough. I showed up on time and the staff there discovered for me that was an apparent glitch in approval because CVS had already billed insurance for TWO vaccinations (even though I had only had one) and of course my insurance would only pay for a single two-part series. Medicare Insurance had already been charged by CVS for two doses even though I only received the first one (there is a several weeks to months required interval between the two shots). Frowny-face indeed. Anyway, the Mariners team really took considerate care to determine what the issue was, to phone Medicare and to spend time on the phone explaining to my insurer that I had actually not received the second dose. They were able to ultimately obtain approval for payment of the second dose. This is the kind of service and caring that people used to get before most businesses in our lives became corporatized. I have only good things to say about this pharmacy and would consider changing all my prescriptions to them (thankfully, I only have one). I checked their hours and they are open every day except Sunday so are very convenient. The parking lot is easily accessible off Hospital Road and Placentia. I really felt they went "above and beyond" for me, and I would wholeheartedly recommend Mariners Pharmacy for their service, humanity and caring. It is also a wonderful thing to support a local business of high-quality. Bravo! FYI, the vaccination shot was painless. :) read more

This pharmacy is a hidden jem. It's off of superior near Hoag Hospital. It was wonderful to walk in and have no line and I think the owners are a husband and wife team and they helped me out. they were just so polite plus the place has tons of cute little gift items, really nice candles. I have gone to Mariner's Pharmacy for about 20 years because my "primary" is in that building, but it became a pleasure to go to there when Sharin bought it several years ago. Sharin is the pharmacist and is more than happy and qualified to answer any questions you might have about your prescription. She also is willing to counsel you on nutrition. She is a doll and her brother Ayran is too. The atmosphere is very friendly with two inviting chairs to sit in if you want to or look around at the gift items. They also have great greeting cards. I love to stop by just to say hi when I'm in the building! "Connection" is what it's all about in this rather disconnected world we live in. I've historically gotten my prescriptions from the big retailers because I believed it was more convenient, but I transferred all my prescriptions to Mariner's Pharmacy after my doctor recommended them. When other pharmacies experience shortages of various popular medications, Mariners doesn't. They also consistently provide excellent service. I normally don't write reviews but have to write it this time. Shirin and her team is the best! They are always so personable, reliable and responsive. They always pick up the phone, they know every patient by name, and when my prescription has some issue, they try every possible way to resolve it or help me out. As a person who panics over prescription issue with doctor's office, they always make me feel rest assured. It's honestly the best pharmacy I've ever had in my life. It gives you a warm and fussy feeling. And from what I observe, I am not the only person that's extremely happy with them. Definitely 5+ Stars. I've dealt with many pharmacy's over the years and have will not use another. I was a customer with the old owners only filling my optic meds being my doctor was in same building. After another check up at the docs and visiting the new owners for the first time, I was super happy and surprised with the customer service, how inviting everyone was right when you enter, their knowledge as well as the time they took with me to explain a few medications as well as answer my questions. Shirin is a Doll and super sweet. Go say Hi to her and get the best service possible. I now have all my medication filed here, which were spread out over a couple others.
