Over 2 weeks later and it is still not available. Hmmm - I will be transferring my prescriptions to a different pharmacy. It is not safe to have these people manage my medications!

Rude, unhelpful, and seemingly transphobic. I've been…read morepicking up my HRT prescription for an estrogen capsule here for over a year now. Last week, I received a call telling me that my prescription was ready for pickup (after specifically requesting their prompted refill days before). When I arrived, they told me they were still waiting for my doctor's approval (despite the doctor sending me confirmation it was sent), and they proceeded to misgender me twice through the intersection. Keep in mind I was at the counter with long hair, makeup, a purse, and a dress! When one person at the counter looked to the other for help they said something about "his" prescription, to which I said "I'm not a he," and then not 30 seconds later they did it again! So I said louder this time "I'm not a ****ing he!" They came back and said "well YOUR CHART says male, so we weren't trying to offend you," and proceeded to say I needed to call my doctor for approval again despite the CVS system being the one that called me to tell me it was ready. I asked them then and there if they could update my name in the system, or put my name in a "preferred/nickname" field as it had just been legally changed, but they said they couldn't do that. 4 days later, after calling my doctor again and receiving another voicemail from CVS telling me it was ready for pickup, they told me the same thing AGAIN! When I told them I once again received a confirmation call, and showed them the message from my doctor saying it had been refilled, they still refused to acknowledge there might be a problem in their system, and said I had to call my doctor again. Through this second interaction, the clerk almost immediately took an attitude and got very aggressive with me, and said everyone there would lose their job if they gave me my prescription without "confirmation." I walked away and took a minute to calm down after being treated like I was the one inconveniencing them for asking them to give me the prescription THEIR SYSTEM said was ready. I came back and asked for them to look it up under my new name, or a combination of my old last name and new first name, and asked them to make sure it wasn't my insurance that was waiting on approval, and they then found the prescription sent under my old first name and new last name. They proceeded to tell me how this was the fault of me and my doctor, no one there apologized for the inconvenience or the attitude they took with me, or their lack of looking into this any further than saying "call your doctor again." Keep in mind I brought up the change of name the first time, and no one there thought to maybe look into that as a source of the issue. I no longer feel safe or comfortable going to this CVS, and I got a very strong impression that the staff treated me as poorly as they did because they were uncomfortable serving a trans person. I will be looking into transferring my prescriptions elsewhere, and will rarely, if ever, be returning to the Target the pharmacy is located inside of now that it no longer provides the convenience of a reliable pharmacy.

This place is pretty much the same as any other chain drugstore, when looking for miscellaneous toiletries or maybe to fill a prescription. And that's why I've been here several times - to stock up. Convenience = 3 Stars. My only thing I'll never forgive CVS for is taking over the Target pharmacy business and getting rid of their uniquely designed red (with color code collars) prescription bottles.

I had a very disappointing experience at the CVS in Iowa City…read more I originally used the self-checkout, but when my 25% off coupon wouldn't scan, a shift supervisor named Brianna came over to help and moved me to a register. I also handed her a $4 coupon. Before the issue was clearly resolved, she tore up my $4 coupon. She then insisted it had been applied, but the total only reflected the 25% discount on my $16.99 item. The additional $4 discount was not included. When I politely pointed out the discrepancy, instead of explaining or correcting it, the interaction became argumentative and dismissive. We went back and forth for about 30 minutes, with no resolution. Since my coupon had already been destroyed and the pricing issue still wasn't resolved, I ultimately decided not to complete the purchase. The missing $4 wasn't the biggest issue--it was the lack of professionalism, clear communication, and customer service. I expect a shift supervisor to handle situations like this calmly, accurately, and respectfully. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience. I hope CVS management reviews this incident so future customers don't have a similar experience

So I figured fair enough, you're not who I go to first so I then made my way down to where it said pick up. I waited, then I saw another woman so now they both saw me and didn't acknowledge me. Then the woman asked a customer behind me if he was there to pick up, helped him for awhile and then walked away. I said excuse me she acted annoyed and I asked about filling a Rx and she said "go to the computers". So I'm thinking go to the other end since the guy working was so adamant to ignore me. The woman and guy both watched while I went to the other end and noticed it was all closed off. No one said anything. I asked the guy there for help and he never even looked at me, while he gruffly asked "date of birth??" and then stated "you have nothing here" then shamed me for asking further questions about if they contact my dr or if I do. Ya know, simple WHAT I SHOULD DO NEXT questions with how to get my Rx filled since I'm AT THE PHARMACY. I couldn't even hear the rest of anything he was saying. He was so pleased that I had to walk up and down trying to figure things out and that I now couldn't hear him while I was asking what to do next about my shameful "controlled substance". I never bother writing bad reviews but my skin is still crawling I'm so angry. There's no way to describe just how gross it was that they we're both so pleased to be unhelpful. I've worked in service forever. I get it and I certainly never expect anyone to be smiling and bubbly but this was purposeful disrespect. If they managed to upset me, I can't imagine how they're making others feel. Walgreens for life from now on.
