This CVS location was a terrific stop for any basic thing you might need, from medication to snacks and everything in between. It is a two level store, with the entire top floor dedicated to the pharmacy and medical section. The space is extremely nicely decorated and feels very thoughtfully designed, with a cute local feel and clear local pride throughout. There are also healthy grab and go options for a quick lunch or snack, and the food selection feels more unique than a typical convenience store, including items like fresh eggs for sale. They also sold local merch. Overall, it has much more of a local market atmosphere than a traditional CVS Pharmacy location, which makes it a really convenient and pleasant stop. read more

I used the computer to make an appointment for a vaccine. I got the usual reminders about the upcoming appointment. When I arrived, the pharmacy was closed and there was no one there to give a vaccine. So annoying. Avoid CVS whenever possible. read more

Just had the worst experience. So I was in there just trying to shop an employee was stocking the shelves and wouldn't move out of my way so I can get a product I needed and then kept getting in the way I had 100+ dollars worth of stuff I asked one of the workers if I could cash out at the counter instead of the self check out because all the stuff shouldn't fit on the little platform that they have for your products. I love CVS stores you can always find what you are looking for, but this unfortunately its not my favorite location. This CVS is located right in Harvard square, it is extremely convenient as it is right outside the mbta T stop. This location is also very convenient from Harvard students as it is right next to Harvard university. It is located on a very busy street intersection, but surprisingly it is very spacious inside. It has two floors. On the first floors you can find mostly appliances, dried foods and frozen food; while on the second floor you van find the pharmacy, beauty produce and skincare products. The ambiance of this CVS is very nice and it is also very clean. The employees are somewhat helpful but at times I found them to be very rude and dismissive. I mostly come to this CVS to purchase skincare products like La Roche Posay. Most of their skincare products are locked up so you do need an associate assistance to grab them. A lot of times they are out of stock of the products I need and unfortunately this CVS is more on the pricier side compared to others one I have been too. read more

CVs are important for getting jobs, but not so much this one. Located in Cambridge Massachusetts and perfect for all of the Harvard students and whatnot. I think it's a cute little place and really good for the students and in a very very very good location except for one thing. Yes ok, you can walk here from most of the Harvard halls and dorms and whatever - but the main issue with it is that it's CVS, and it was extremely expensive. I mean by Boston standards it's probably not too much worse than a lot of Boston pharmacies, but it is actually more expensive than the CVS locations down in Texas, maybe because it's in Massachusetts. Surely the company should just sell stuff the same price all over the country but nope they try to take advantage of local market value and that's how they make their billions but it just makes me like them even less. read more

Honestly, can you beat a 24-hour CVS? No. There are two levels. The first floor is mostly kitchenware and cereal and milk and office supplies and snacks and stuff. The second floor has cosmetics, sunscreen, first-aid, soap, shampoo, and many more household essentials. There are cashiers available on both levels. Self-checkout​ is only available on the ground level.​ What is great that there are always enough clerks around to help answer your questions or find what you are looking f​or. Super convenient​ but I wouldn't actually do my regular groceries and purchase cereal and milk from there. It's nice to have a large-ish CVS in the middle of an urban center like Harvard Square, but this one has some puzzling omissions. Witness the following exchange: Employee: Did you find everything you were looking for? Me: Not really. Do you have baby food? Employee: What kind of baby food? Me: Umm, any kind, really. Baby food. Indeed, despite three rows of snack food, they don't carry baby food. But I guess they must know their customer base. More strangely, they also don't carry any yogurt, of any flavor, except non-fat. I come to this CVS all the time, as I get most of my prescriptions here. Sometimes I go to the one in Central Square if it's more convenient with my plans, but I've found that the staff at Harvard Square is less incompetent (notice I'm not saying "more competent") and slightly less frustrating. There will still be incidents where I wait a really long time for something that was supposed to be ready, but on the whole it doesn't happen as often. They also have all the beauty, household, and medicinal supplies you will need and if you sign up for an ExtraCare account they will send you shitloads of coupons and you'll make money off of buying things, the way I do. read more

When I was checking out an employee told me he could save me $10 by signing up for a thing and tried to rush me through the acceptance process, and luckily I saw the TOC included a $5 monthly payment. When I asked about this the employee gaslit me and pretended as if he had told me. I am absolutely sure that is not the case. Everytime I am on the east coast I wonder how CVS is like the ruler of the run into and grab and go. Then I realize that they do actually usually have what you need in a disorganized, unclean and unkept store. It might look like a dump or like the apocalypse has happened (half the time the shelving has stuff scattered like you just missed the insane rush) BUT you grab what you need, pay the angry employee and leave. This one treats you extra like a criminal...I needed noise cancelling headphones since mine broke on the flight over. Guess what is behind the cash register?? Yep, and there was a lot of pointing - no really, I do not need the $60+ ones but keep going lower shelf there buddy. And then the long watch like I am going to run out the door with them - hay, I do look sketchy so that's fair... I will say that the headphones are pretty awesome - even though I was a bit bitter seeing similar ones for $5+ less at other stores later in the day. I hate doing self checkout, so, every time I come here I try to have one of the cashiers ring up my order and they are ALWAYS incapable of doing it. Although most people really don't read reviews for pharmacies like CVS, I nonetheless feel the need to publicly rate them and to THANK the pharmacist here (I'm too shy to ask for her name-- but she is usually seen wearing a patterned hijab and has a super bright smile on her face). After she saw that I was not currently insured she looked up a cheaper price for my prescription and then offered to give me a three-month refill! It may not seem like much, but I was really sad and hopeless that day and encountering her warmth and kindness in my time of need really made a significant difference in my outlook. Yesterday I came here to pick up a prescription and was told that the item was not in stock. Come back tomorrow when the store opens and it will be here I was told. When I came back today at 2:30 PM, they said they had not received the days delivery yet. When will that be, I asked. 4 pm they said. Should I come back at 4 PM to pick up my item I asked. No because they need to unpack the delivery. When should I return I asked. Come tomorrow after 12 noon. So I would advise asking more than one person when something will be ready or back in stock at this pharmacy. I bought another item and paid at the pharmacy window with a $100 bill. I understand that people don't see actual cash anymore, but when the person made my change they omitted five dollars. So now clerks can't even make change. I advise counting your change carefully in the rare instance that you might pay using cash. On the positive side, when I came here for my Covid booster that went very smoothly. But that was before the vaccine booster was opened to Americans of all ages, so it might be busier now. Update: the next day, rather than walk over again and risk getting disappointed, I called at around 3 PM and was told that they still did not have the item. Problems with the supply chain/warehouse. The item might at a CVS near BU, but I would have to call to confirm. Since parking is difficult near BU, I decided to stick with the CVS in Harvard Sq but since the next day was Sunday apparently they wouldn't be able to tell me until Monday whether they had received the item. For the minute clinic: Holy cow is this thing poorly run. The website told me it would be a 10 minute wait and when I get here it says 45 minutes. Then I check the waitlist 45 minutes later and it says 80 minutes. What the hell? Plus everyone's name is in there multiple times making it hard to tell how long it'll actually be. Like what the hell is that about? I wanted to ask a basic question - if the vaccine I wanted was in stock - and there was no one to ask. The NP pops her head out for less than a minute, doesn't give a chance to any of the people waiting in the CVS. They tell you to call their customer service line if you have questions and it's one of the worst phone experiences I have ever had. I wanted to leave too, but there's no way to cancel my spot to free it up for others and again I have no way of knowing if it'll be any better at another CVS. So way to run a basic vaccination in the worst possible and least efficient way possible. I wish I could give zero stars. Edit: I will say that at least the NP was very professional and efficient once things got started. She handled my insurance and everything on her own in just a few minutes and made sure to answer any questions I had with a good attitude. read more

The layout of the store is a bit strange so it's not always easy to find things right away but overall the service is good and it's a nice location. SCAM ALERT! With CVS putting local establishments out of business in cities and small towns everywhere, their business practices should not be suspect, but today I discovered something disturbing. I won't complain about their mile long receipts with 800 coupons on each one; but they enticed me to use one of them...25% off any item..excluding sale items. Makes sense that if they've already discounted an item, they don't want to give a double discount. I picked up an item with a sign indicating that if you bought one, you could get a second at 50% off...but I didn't want two. That means I was charged full price for the item, which again makes sense. The problem: the coupon wouldn't work. When I asked why I was told that because the item as on sale and didn't qualify, even though I paid full price. So...I was charged full price, but was not able to use my 25% off coupon...a deceptive scam. It can't be legal! I asked the store manager, and although he agreed with my argument said, "that's the way the system works." So how much has CVS overcharged its customers since they've been issuing the mile long receipts? Thousands of $$, hundreds of thousands$$. I was in this CVS tonight. My plan was to use a $5 extra bucks coupon because I was short on cash (as in I had none with me and refused to use a card). Anyway, with the items I bought it came out to 4.89. It would not accept my $5 extra bucks. I told them I would be more than happy to forego the 11 cents, but they made a big deal about it. The guy then told me to put my stuff in my bag so I did and began to walk out only to have them yelling at me. So I went back (which come to think of it i shouldn't have...are the police going to arrest me for the STORE owing ME 11 cents????) and they asked for my CVS card again and then told me I needed to pay a nickel for a bottle deposit and the coupon would not cover that. It always did in every other CVS I was in. I told them to void my order and they finally agreed to let it slide. I don't think I will be going tot that CVS anytime soon. And yes a phone charging station, but I'm an Android user and even if I did use the Iphone, they only have the old 30 pin cables. Needs updating! read more

You once saved my respiratory system by providing me with dewy moist air- yes a humidifier does wonders and you pulled through for me yet again. Your sister, the other CVS who lives down the street didn't have Q Tips, just the CVS brand which I once bought and dearly regretted. Q Tips are the type of product where you spend the big bucks to get the resistance of the straw and the plumpness of the cotton bulb that you are looking for, otherwise skimp and have 1000 reasons to regret it! Point is you had what I was looking form somehow you always do. You make me check out and pay myself, as if I need to be taught how to take care of myself and grow up because maybe one day you'll be gone. I like the self service option, you make me feel like a kid in that moment, experimenting with a new machine, matching up the UPC code to the laser and smiling when I get it right and hear the confirmed beep and item graphic pop up on the screen. Great, a brand new CVS in Harvard square. Only problem is that it's terrible. They apparently forgot to install any air conditioning system. It's grossly hot and there are no blinds/curtains/tinting on the windows. So, any heat sensitive items (such as vitamins, or makeup, or chocolate) are either melted and ruined or possibly spoiled and unsafe. read more

This is a very small, yet extremely convenient CVS in the heart of Harvard Square, where everything is small, so it fits nicely in the area. Despite its cozy size, it has most of what anyone would need as first-instance items from the dorms or the busy Kennedy School program. I would even award it even four, were it not for the fact that the store employees are missing in action at the register and I had to go all around the place looking for someone to manage the check out when I only had 15 minutes between classes. I wonder with the employees engaged in the back, just how much stuff walks out the door. read more

This store is a huge improvement over the divided CVS stores that Harvard Square used to have. It was never fun to do half of your CVS shopping in one place and then walk a block to do the rest. But that's not the reason this place gets 5 stars from me -- that credit goes to the people who work there. I never fail to get excellent, knowledgeable service from both the pharmacists and the floor staff/cashiers. I don't know where they find these people, but they are all so nice and helpful, going above and beyond regularly. And they're personable, but not overly friendly, which can feel fake and a little creepy. Kudos to whoever does the hiring and training and to the awesome staff! read more
