This posting is not about CVS it is about the new Manager. We have lived in Camarillo 35 years and been through quite a few managers at CVS. My husband and I are both very very impressed with this young man. He has every attribute of a great manager. We are amazed at his knowledge of the inventory of the store. No matter what you ask him for he tells you exactly where it is. If for any reason he is hesitant, he will also walk over with you. Personality A!!!!! Always in a good mood. I had thought I had lost the register receipt for a $300 gift card. I was freaked out. I spoke to him and he reassured me that he could take care of it, so don't worry. It turned out ok. Sorry I haven't called him by name, once you get up in your senior years it's easy to forget . So thank you CVS Corp for providing us with an excellent manager! read more

The pharmacy is god awful. You cannot call them directly, only use this piece of garbage "virtual assistant" that never works, then leave a message no on listens to that you will never receive a callback from. The only possible way to talk to a person is to call the front of the store and ask to be transferred. And that's not even getting into how constant their pharmacy screwups are. read more

I used to come here all the time for make up, nails, and while I'm there I'd pickup whatever else I needed or didn't need. Unfortunately last time I went everything I needed was locked up. $10 nails?? I actually understand why but with no one on the floor to help me and a busy register I put everything else I had down and left. I'm writing this in the hopes the manager understands if you lock things up you NEED to have someone stocking or cleaning around those areas to help customers. read more

Unfortunately this place has stayed the same. It doesn't matter what time I go, what day of the week, there is always a mega-line. They now have 3 registers and almost every time I go there is 1 being used, 1 being used to kind of just answer old person questions, and quite literally 4-6 pharmacists sorting medication or doing something on a computer. The last time I came, I got there 30 minutes before their 12:30 lunch break. Approximately 8 people in line in front of me. I waited and when I was next in line, the cashier yelled at the line "WE GO ON LUNCH IN 15 MINUTES!" I turned around and there were easily 10-12 people in line behind me. You gotta get one of the 6-8 people working to stand at the back of the line and inform people coming in that you're closing. It would make their lives and ours so much easier. The little sign that says their lunch break is at the very front and only the first person in line can see it. People are waiting 30-45 minutes just to be told they can't be helped. Like many others, my prescriptions were moved from Rite Aid to CVS. The AI at CVS is impossible to navigate, when it understands only questions related to prescriptions, not changed phone numbers or information about delivery. It also does not forward calls to a person when AI does not understand questions, so it is a roadblock. Since ID is the phone number, I couldn't log in, with a new phone number. I finally was able to reach the pharmacy when I called the store manager and he switched the call to them, after asking them to answer the phone. I subsequently moved my prescriptions to a different pharmacy where a living person answered my questions, very nicely, in a few minutes. read more

I went in yesterday to print a photo n it lagged so long , we were there almost an hour to get it to load up photos. Unethical business practice administered by the pharmacy department. My 7 year olds father took my 7 year old and my 16 year old and lied then gave them both the vaccine without my knowledge. One doesn't have his last name even but she still got the shot. They didn't ask her for consent and didn't question if she WANTED the shot. They just jabbed her. Calling the store, resulted in them saying "did one of your kids get the shot without your consent?". Immediately forwarded me to the legal team at CVS. So, you need two parents to enroll your child in school, at the Doctors office or have a legal document showing you have Power of Attorney or you are the Full Custodial Parent but you only need ONE parent to show up and ask for the shot and they can get it. I'm all for vaccines as long as BOTH parents AGREED on the shot. This time, CVS really did cross the line. Just sick. I will not be shopping at your stores and I will be blasting this all over and involving the news. This is EXTREMELY unethical. SHAME on CVS. May God have mercy on your soul. The phone prompts was one thing to navigate through, but when that's not enough, a simple solution from a pharmacist could answer. I truly am ungrateful waiting on the phone for the amount of time it takes for me to drive out there twice! Doctor issued an inhaler yesterday and I'm glad that they completed their part. I want to like this pharmacy, I really do. They don't sell cigarettes, they take a stand on advertising realistic looking women. What's not to like? How about being placed on hold for over 16 minutes! Of course, I was going to hang up after 5 minutes, but hey, I'm driving and I decide I want to see how long they will actually put me on hold. Carpeted floors are biological bombs, and they are in every CVS! The area behind the counter at every CVS I have had to shop in, those areas are cluttered and filthy. The shelves are always dusty and so many missing products that the dust shows more. Never enough staff to ask a question let alone walk you to an aisle. Why would I shop in a dusty, cluttered store? Well no more, I am shopping at small, non-chain drug stores, prices are virtually the same anyways. read more

This review is strictly for the pharmacy staff: The pharmacists are fabulous to work with! Lee - who I believe is a recent addition to the team - and Chris Khoury are incredibly helpful and make potentially difficult situations a total breeze! And shout out to the best pharmacy tech - Heather!! She is always a sweetheart and goes above and beyond to help not just me, but all customers, in every scenario. On the other hand, the remainder of the pharmacy staff is SO miserable, and their faces and energy don't hide it. It's like their goal is to make every transaction as difficult as possible. To preface my experiences at this pharmacy over the past 3 years, I have been blessed (LOL) with A LOT of health issues for my age, and it's something I am FULLY aware of - but not something I'm particulary ecstatic about.. On one of my most recent visits, a newer male tech commented "You're too young to be on all of this." ... Gee, thanks sir! What an insightful observation and tactful comment! I'll have you know that I'm absolutely thrilled with the situation I've been dealt.. phhhh... Another older female staff member with whom I've had multiple unpleasant experiences both in person and over the phone just told me "You shouldn't need your refill already." Like she lives in my body and knows when I need refills of my prescriptions... ?? If my doctor authorizes refills, why should it matter? Previously, she shouted to the never-ending, growing line behind me that my (name of medication) was not ready yet. So much respect for me and my privacy.. sike! I'm not sure how the medications I take and when I need them refilled or picked up personally affects the pharmacy techs and their daily lives, but it truly seems like they lose sleep at night over following my doctor's orders. All of this commentary is just to say: BEWARE! Make sure you visit this pharmacy with time to spare and a patient attitude. read more

I have completely mixed reviews from different experiences. Pharmacy experience: very helpful, polite and the pharmacist was friendly and quickly available to answer my questions. Drug Store Experience: I will not go back to drugstore. 8am Friday morning. One lady at checkout in front with different order and coupon requests. This took 8 minutes. The cashier didn't call for help. When I asked her to, she said the other lady was helping the UPS delivery guy which came in later than me. No apology. I asked her for future time to call for help right away because people have to get to work and take kids to school. No answer. I had to request an answer. CVS, I've gone to many of your stores as a loyal customer and NEVER was treated this way. You need to train these people in efficiency, friendliness and customer service. The worst possible pharmacy around. They don't answer the phone most of the time. I had surgery yesterday needed stronger medication was called in in the 9'clock hour this morning heard nothing called waited on hold 20 min no one picked up got lucky when I called back. She said it would be ready at 4. Called back to check and see if ready still not in system. Just held for over an hour trying to get status. Before I had someone come and get it. Since it wasn't in the system still. No one ever picked up. Beyond LAME!! Definitely not coming back to this rat hole place. I'd give zero stars but to post this I have to give at least 1. CVS pharmacy disappoints year after year! I first let them text me when the medicine was ready but they continued to text a hundred times! I switched the contact number to my landline and now they leave a hundred voice messages! When trying to reach them by telephone to ask if the medicine is still on the shelf, THEY NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE! Who has time to wait on hold for 30 minutes?! Does CVS really not have enough money to hire more workers? I don't get it! I wish there was another pharmacy to go to but I fear they are all the same. I've been coming to CVS pharmacy since back when they were longs drugstore. I love the people that work there, that and it's close proximity to Vons grocery store next-door is probably the only reason I still here. My problem is with whoever designed and maintains their prescription system, the computerized one. I'm constantly having to deal with prescriptions being filled when I don't need them to be filled. Most recently, on a Saturday I will send a text message asking if I wanted to have two prescriptions refilled. I answered "no". Sunday a pharmacy tech called me personally, asking if I wanted to have those two prescriptions refilled. I said "no". Monday (today) I get a text message saying that my prescription was refilled. I thought "great" because I was expecting another one to refill. But it wasn't the one I needed to refill that was the ready, it was the two that I did not want filled. Back in December, at the beginning of the month, I picked up a prescription that somehow did not get cleared from the system. For some reason the pharmacy techs nor can the manager do anything to clear that prescription out of the system. Every month when I go in there for picking up prescriptions at the pharmacy, tech scratch their heads looking for the one that supposedly is filled but was already picked up two months ago. Seriously, they really need to fix their mess. Toss the old system and put in a new one. Something. I wouldn't be writing this if it didn't happen so often, this is today is just the straw that broke the camels back. read more

I love this CVS. The pharmacy is great. Everyone is helpful and nice. They're willing to go the extra mile to help you resolve any issues with medication or insurance etc. the wait is tolerable not a ridiculous wait time. The store also has good deals and great coupons. They have good prices on alcohol. They also have a cool Kodak machine to print out photos right from your phone :) read more

Thank goodness for CVS because they make Walgreens look really good. My hubby does CVS and I do Walgreens and anytime I need to pick up for him I am thankful for Walgreens. I'd go into more detail but if you've been there and if it can happen it does. It's never an easy or quick pick up. Not to mention that they will be out of something so I have to go through it twice as then transfer the order and bla bla bla.... This pharmacy lacks customer service and inventory. I've never had a problem with any other cvs as I have this one. Twice they have told me they had my prescription ready. When I went to pick it up they told me "they don't have that medication in stock". And that was it. They offered no help or explanation as to WHY someone would call and tell me they infact DID have it. I started using a different cvs but it was much farther than this one. Didn't have any problems for months. I thought I'd give this location another try, again because it's so much closer to my house. This time, after days and days of joy hearing about my script, I called them. they told me that their "safe was broken" but my prescription was in there and would be ready the next day. I showed up 2 days later (hoping my prescription isn't expired at this point) and first the lady says "we don't have this in stock". Then the manager (I assume) jumps in and says "yes we have it" and asks ME what brand I use. She then goes behind the counter, comes back and tells me that "no they actually don't have it". Because of the medication, CVS won't just transfer my prescription over to a different pharmacy to fill. I now have to pay a fee to have a new prescription written because of THEIR INCOMPETENCE! They offer no help or solutions and just stare at you waiting for you to leave. They did nothing for me and Have now cause me more problems than I had before. Terrible service and terrible management. If you don't have something, maybe call ahead and let someone know instead of flat out lying and wasting peoples time! I come from management and would never allow this poor miscommunication to happen within my team or to my PAYING regular customers. Worst. CVS. Ever. Tonight I go in with my 40% off one item paper coupon that came at the bottom of my receipt last time I was in. Got my one item and handed my coupon to the cashier. She ran my CVS card # and said the coupon wasn't connected to my card (I know it was). I said well, maybe it was my husbands card (it wasn't) so she cancelled the transaction and tried that. Nope. She said I can't use the coupon cuz it's not attached to either card. It's a freaking paper coupon. I know for a FACT it was on my card. She was very condescending and rude. I finally gave up and walked out without my stuff. Wish there was another drugstore close as I don't want to shop here anymore. The cashiers are always awful and rude except for one young man. I recently moved from Thousand Oaks to Camarillo. I had been using one of the Burts Pharmacy's and thus had terrific customer service. Along with the move I also changed my Part D medicare plan. Although I could continue to use Burts I knew it would be less expensive to use the insurance company pharmacy of choice which is CVS. Ironically I left CVS years ago as they are just to big and tend to lack customer service. I needed the get two prescriptions refilled but would take a little work as my physician needed to be contacted. When I reached the counter the gentleman basically told me there was no way they would contact my physician. He said he had never heard of refilling this way. My physician's office would need to contact CVS. I had spoken to my doctors office and they explained the pharmacy would need to send information electronically. My insurance company also had told me CVS should be able to do. I kept trying to explain this to the pharmacy tech and he was just not going to assist! Needless to say I was a little upset. Try the CVS on Carmen. They were polite, helpful and my RX has already been filled in less than 24 hrs. read more

(Cold meds and Kleenex ) Went to the checkout and was help by a very helpful and friendly cashier named Sherman. I was so impressed with his kindness and concern. This pharmacy has the most incompetent people around. They never seem to know what is going on or where to find your prescription. They will never admit when they are wrong and won't try to help solve the problem immediately when there is one. I would never ever recommend this pharmacy to anyone and would strongly discourage use of it for your pharmacy and shopping needs. read more

Incompetent. Rude. Insulting. 1.5hrs after family doctor called in prescription for cough they said there was no such prescription. Went to "prescription drop off" and asked if it had been called in. They said "no email or faxes." I told them it was called in again. I waited 20 minutes for them to check voicemail and the prescription HAD been called in. Jerks. To top it off, they did not give it to me because my family physician is my older sister. ! Jerks. So the X-rays I had done to prove beginning stages of pneumonia were all for show too I guess. A holes. PS...There is nothing wrong with a family member writting a prescription for a controlled substance. It could be "frowned upon" but it is in no way illegal or wrong. These guys wasted hours of my life, in dior sickness, and were truly incompetent. I will not go back. Not to mention acted like big shots, insulting my sister and I at the same time. read more

The main manager at this location is a gentleman named Todd. I simply don't know how to say how wonderful he is. I'll just tell our story. My wife fell sick in 2018, and at the time we lived in Camarillo. The onset of her illness was unexpected and catastrophic. She went from "vibrant and full of life" one day, to the literal next day being confined to a chair or bed. She suffered a perpetual allergic reaction to nearly everything she ate, drank, or touched. The allergic reaction never stopped, for months. We didn't know what was going on at the time, but she was eventually diagnosed by UCLA doctors with a rare condition called Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS). Seems like someone is born with and carries it without knowing until a "flare up" happens. My wife's flare was a full crash which resulted in a litany of medical problems. She suffered for months prior to a diagnosis, seeing specialist after specialist while the mysterious problem kept her hovering just one bad reaction away from death by anaphylactic asphyxiation. Among the most severe of her new problems, however, was that drinking water, plain old water, kicked her body's immune system into "murderous self-annihilation" mode. A consequence of this was that there were very few things her body would accept for hydration without trying to kill her. Pedialyte happened to be something she could drink. So we started trying all different flavors. But then she'd react to the food dyes, or the artificial flavors. So ultimately it was down to plain electrolytes: clear and "flavorless" (which I put in quotes because without flavoring, it's like drinking bottled human sweat). But at least it kept her hydrated, and her body didn't react to it. Then we discovered, on a whim, this little thing. It's a CVS-brand organic adult electrolyte with a lemon-berry flavor, and her body didn't react to it. Now this stuff isn't exactly liquid ambrosia, but compared to sweat-flavored hydration, it was a godsend. She was drinking 3-4 liters of electrolytes a day and, once she tried this organic lemon berry stuff, it was all she wanted. I wasn't about to deny her the one thing she could reliably and safely drink that didn't taste like my post-workout tee-shirt. But there was a problem with supply. You see, a typical CVS stocks 4 of these 1-liter bottles per week. And I needed 6-7 times that number for my wife. We are privileged, and the cost was irrelevant compared to the value they had for her while she was sick, so at first I was going to every CVS in Camarillo, Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks, to get the number I needed for her. It was inconvenient, but no big deal. Soon, though, it became clear we were using more than the collective CVSs in the area stocked. One day I asked the manager at another CVS, not this one on Arneil, if he could special-order some extra for me. He said sure. And then he never got more than normal. I asked managers at a few other stores, thinking surely one of them could manage it. But an increased supply never came to Ventura County CVSs. After a few weeks of this, and a month learning the truck-delivery dates of all the stores in the area, I finally asked that first manager what the deal was, why he kept saying he was ordering some, but he never got more than the usual amount. He blah-blah-blahed at me pointlessly, which I took as a cue that he had no f'n clue and didn't particularly care. Around this time, Todd became the manager at the Arneil location. As far as he was concerned, I came out of left field one day when I pulled him aside and bitterly complained about this. I demanded that he explain why this would be happening, to help me find a way to correct it. I wasn't mad at him; I was mad at every other manager who blew me off, mad at whatever failure of systems/processes made it hard for store managers to special-order things. Todd apologized, agreed that sometimes the system was convoluted, and explained some of the reasons why the system is built that way. I explained to him WHY this was such a big deal to me, WHY I needed so much of this one thing. I hadn't talked to any other manager about the medical problems my wife was having. I kind of didn't wanna talk about it, both because I didn't like to, and also because it seemed like doing so would be an awkward overshare. But Todd was amazing. He was already professionally engaged with me, but he was genuinely compassionate and concerned once he knew the full story. He got the whole thing managed, and in no time we were swimming in organic electrolytes. He kept us supplied till we moved away, and he made sure we were setup with a CVS in our new city. Todd deserves more credit than he gets, and I wish nothing but the very best for him. It's rare to find genuinely-caring people like this, but Todd is one, warm, friendly, hard-working. He contributed as much to our health outcomes as any doctor. Thank you Todd. PS) Wife is better now with diagnosis, meds, and new locale. read more

Wow, the attitude and ineptness continues, even though all I was trying to do was pick up one prescription that was ready for pick-up.

It has taken 4 days so far to get a refill filled & it still isn't ready. It was confirmed to be ready 3 days ago, but wasn't. I talked to a tech yesterday & was assured it would be done yesterday....still not ready a day later & I can't get ahold of anyone for an update. I don't have the time to go in and wait, but that appears to be the only way! read more
