Convenient CVS between Chinatown and Quincy Market in the heart of downtown. It's smaller than others, but being in downtown Boston, it's understandable due to the high rent prices and the limited real estate. I went in to get some snacks and candy and they were cheaper than buying them in other places nearby. Also, with the mobile app discount coupon, I was able to get a better deal. Some people get 20%, 30% or even 40% off on a weekly basis on their mobile app. I did not deal with any human being, as I used the self checkout register, which I liked...it was easy and quick. read more

Hands-down the rudest cashier I've ever had at a CVS. We came in for a few things and right off the bat this woman started acting like we were inconveniencing her and being rude, passive aggressive and irritated. In all honesty, set your personal issues aside when you're at work. It's not cool to have an attitude towards people who literally walked in to get several things and be in-and-out. I don't recommend asking employees for help here. Just coming to the register with items we found on our own was enough to get attitude. Not coming back. read more

The store is laid out similar to other CVS's considering that it is an urban location. A little smaller but they still have snacks and drinks and of course, aisles of over the counter medications plus a full service pharmacy. Clean store with wide aisles at this location. The manager is on top of things! You won't find empty shelves or dirty shelves here. You can easily move about the aisles. There's always self checkout available with someone to assist. They've always had at least 1 person for human checkout when I've been here. The staff actually asks for your coupons! Good location. Terrible pharmacy. My prescription was called in the moment they opened. I came hours later to pick it up, it was not ready. I was told it would be ready in 5-7 minutes and asked if I could walk around outside. I show up within the time frame, and they closed the pharmacy. You'd think if they were about to close, they would advise me to stick around in the store, or at least tell me they close the pharmacy soon. Busy! Like all the time! I give the staff credit dealing with the amount of people they have in and out on a daily basis. The store is large and the location is good in Downtown in my opinion cause it's close to my job, haha. So it's not too far if I needed anything. They only have 3 actual registers or 4. They have the self checkout ones so that may bother some people but either or is okay for me sometimes until people can't work them and your stuck in a giant line. As of December 2019, they are doing better with having someone on the registers and alternative to self check out. This store has been re-modeled I think to compete with the Walgreen's next door with the high end cosmetic section. The cosmetics/beauty area has been expanded with light up displays and a lot of brands you would not think would be chain drugstore including organic and more trendy, plus imported cosmetic brands/face masks for younger women (college age) and yes--even a special selection of Hello Kitty make up/cosmetics--I kid you not. There is also a section of accessories from the former Mall Store/Claire's. In addition, the back of the store has been reworked, there is still a small Hallmark section, and a waiting area for people to get fitted I think with mail order braces/teeth liners. read more

Thank the good lord they have closed the horrid CVS at 340 Washington Street and opened up a brand new location right down the street. Downtown Crossing has a few CVS' but this is by far the best. This is the worst CVS I've ever been to, and I've been to a lot of CVSs (CVSes? CVI? Whatever - it's still terrible). The selection is fine - your basic products and brands, and I'll give you that it's a pretty big store - but they must look to hire the rudest people they can find. It's like they give all potential employees a test, and if the person is capable of smiling, or looking you in the eye, or actually paying attention to a customer instead of texting their friends, they don't get hired. I was all excited when this CVS opened as it's big and shiny and convenient, but here is what happened on my first four visits: Visit 1: Cashier is having loud conversation with other cashier about her boyfriend. Says "I was talking" when I interrupt to give her my CVS card number. Visit 2: Cashier is busy texting on her phone. Won't look up and can't be bothered to reply to "hi, how are you?" Visit 3: Cashiers are having big discussion about how many beers some guy named Pep drank last night. One girl is blowing bubbles. Didn't see anyone look at a customer, smile, ask for a CVS card, or act as if they knew in any way that they were at a job and not a bar. Visit 4: Employees are busy playing some sort of "punching each other on the arm" game to ring up customers. One guy is trying to tickle his coworker. Meanwhile, a whole line of customers is just standing there. I was not aware that I could feel this level of hatred for a CVS, but there you have it. Do not go here!!! Redeeming quality: the pharmacy people are actually really nice, and you can even get a person on the phone if you have questions. I went into this CVS having been to 2 other CVS's before this one in search to see if they have a certain medicine that was prescribed to me. I walked up to the young female pharmacy intern/technician and asked her if the medicine is in stock. She looked at the paper and snickered because the medicine is a bit embarassing for me to be getting. She was waiting to ask the head pharmacist if they had it in stock but the pharmacist was taking her time bullshitting with a customer. When the intern finally showed the script to the pharmacist, the pharmacists first reaction was a disgusted look. Seriously, WTF! If you're gonna be a pharmacist, show some professionalism. Their pharmaceutical degrees should be revoked. If they don't revoke it, I want to be able to snatch it away from them. read more

I'm in here almost daily. I live in the area and this is my go-to convenience store because it is very large and it has the self-scanners. This store has had a problem with vermin. I bought a couple of bags of Cheetos a few months ago and noticed some very rodent-like bites in one of the bags when I got home. The following week I was in the store and did a pass through the chips and sure enough the rodents had gone to town on them--small bite marks and chip crumbs over the entire bottom floor. They seem to be addressing the issue. I've noticed traps in there recently and actually saw dead rat (or large mouse) underneath the pet supplies. This is still my go-to place because unlike the cleaner, brighter Walgreens next door, this store has the self-scanners. So I just avoid any food from the bottom rack of the aisles and inspect everything closely. I also lie to my wife when she asks where I bought the chips from. Everyone in here seems friendly (based on my limited interactions with them since I just go straight to the self-scan). I did get a prescription filled at the pharmacy and I found everyone there to be helpful and pleasant. read more

Very very poor quality service! I asked a lady who works there ,for a price of italian bread and she just said "I have not idea". doesn't have a price on it . Later i went to the cashier who had attitude, I asked her if I can return one thing that I buy last week ,but I don't need it anymore,she said not. After I asked to talk to the manager she tried, and asked for Mi ID I told her that I don't have it with me on the moment. This is a BIG CVS. It can get crowded around the lunch hours because of all the Downtown Crossing area office dwellers. They have just about everything here and a bunch of those self checkout stations which are quick and easy. Old school checkout is always available too. This review is JUST for the pharmacy staff. I wouldn't normally do a review of a pharmacy, but the staff here is SO nice and SO helpful that I thought I would write one. I have never dealt with pharmacy staff as easily as I have with the staff at 333 Washington. They are so helpful and understanding when it comes to getting a prescription filled. On one particular instance, I needed my prescription ahead of time because I was traveling out of the country, and they worked with me and my insurance to get me the prescription. They seem genuinely invested in making sure patients are given the correct care, and aren't in a rush to get you rung up and out the door like other pharmacies I've seen. The staff here always asks me if I know about my prescription/dosage, unlike other CVSes I've been to in the area. Definitely my favorite pharmacy in the area. read more

The ladies at the pharmacy were wonderful - did everything they could! The wait for my refill was supposed to be two hours and they did it in roughly 1hr. (I had to wait there bc we were leaving directly from the location.) Their system doesnt allow for those waiting in store to go prior to others in the line for refill which makes it hard on them becuase they get people waiting on location in front of them! The system should allow them to help priortize... I realize this isnt possible but could probably help them and the pressure they feel with people waiting. It was totally my fault for needing to wait to have it filled but they did it as fast as they could. Great location- thanks to the ladies behind the counter! read more

I was downtown this afternoon and had some time to kill so I stopped in here to look around for a bit. I have to say this is definitely one of the bigger CVS locations in the area. The store is clean and very well kept up. They have plenty of snacks, beverages, groceries and healthcare items as well as a very nice beauty department. I had a CVS coupon to use on some eye shadow so I went ahead and used it while I was there. It did take a few minutes to get through the checkout line but I won't blame the store because it happened due to this one customer who was checking out and making things very hard on the cashier by making the process more difficult than it needed to be and holding up the line. They also have a self checkout option but I wanted a clerk to ring up my items since I was using a coupon and have had problems before trying to use coupons at self checkout terminals. I visit this CVS almost every day, and have been consistently impressed enough that I wanted to publicly say so. First the pharmacy staff are so kind and so helpful. They also introduce themselves by name, give great advice, are nice about pushing vaccines, they're so professional and just great. But the rest of the store staff are also very helpful. Juan is usually at the front door when I come through, and he's helped me find myriad things all over the store. The employees that man the self-checkout stations are also great at crowd control and are always cracking jokes with customers and keeping things moving. Never had a cashier who was unpleasant or rude. I generally have no loyalty to CVS as a brand because the ones near my house in RI are so-so, but the staff at this location are so on their game I come here exclusively, which considering how busy this place is, that's pretty remarkable. read more

Pharmacy has been very good over the years, with the exception of a time I went and they wouldn't fill a prescription because I got there 20 minutes before closing and they still had prescriptions to do. If that's going to be the case, they should have a time when the pharmacy closes, and another time for how late you can drop off a prescription. The staff is nice, and usually pretty helpful, but not always great communicating with each other between shifts. Hours aren't the greatest either. read more

This is a decent CVS that has, for the most part, been generally well-stocked. In particular, they seem to have a good amount of stuff left over after holidays, so that's always a plus (discount candy is always good to have around). Furthermore, they've got the little things in case I don't want to go over to Shaw's or Whole Foods, and just want to make a quick trip out (9 times out of 10, this in some way involves Cheerios). read more

Worse experience if my life, went to this store to get some cheetos and potato chips, once i got there and looking through I grabbed a big bag of cheetos and some chips, I noticed that the bag was broken, I thought someone just opened so I went to get another one and guest what, I noticed that most of the cheetos and chips were broken I move the bags to get one from the back of the shelve and to my surprise I found a fucking Rat, the shelves are full of rat poop, the rats are all over the chips shelves, I will never go back to that place, they don't clean and people is just going to get sick if they eat from there, if I could give this place a -5 stars I would. When I need to get away from my office and have no general agenda of tasks to do, I usually end up at this CVS. The staff aren't very helpful, but the self-checkout is pretty good (when it works). Sale items are never restocked, so if something is free after extra bucks, you can pretty much be assured that the stock is gone by Monday. Everybody at this CVS (the store and pharmacy) are exceedingly helpful and friendly. Every time I walk in, I am asked if I need help finding anything. Also, there is always a staff member helping at the checkout line which is very useful with the self checkouts as assistance might be needed if someone is using a coupon or has any other difficulties. I would also like to call attention to the AMAZING pharmacists- Megan and Hannah. I have been here countless times and have always been greeted by name. I have also been in line and seen them greet other customers by name. They are very dedicated to their patients. Also, at one point, I was using a new prescription and was having a few problems using it. I spoke to Megan and she gave me some suggestions about what to do. Not even 24 hours later, she called me again to check up and see how I was doing. I don't think there are many people that would think to do that. I really hope that Hannah and Megan continue to work here! read more
