This is about CVS and the Covid testing. You get there and there are no obvious signs until you walk up to the door about where to go for a test. The people at the front register don't know and they send you back to the pharmacy. Then the pharmacy sends you outside to go through the drive-through. You may think this would've been obvious except there are no signs whatsoever. (at hospital and outpatient facilities there are lots of signs making it easy) don't forget you're dealing with sick people who are not thinking well. Making it easier is important. Thinking through a fever is really hard. Yes. They send you a text about what to do but they send you a text after you've already left your house to go for the test so you're probably not going to look at it. It would be wiser to send that informative text when you get the confirmation for the day before the test. Who's going to Watch the video while they're driving? Then you get The test kit. The tube is 3 inches long and the swab is 6 inches long. The instructions are to put the swab in the tube... Exactly how is that going to work? I've gone for tests in other places and they all make it easy. CVS did not make it easy at all. The manager I spoke to kept trying to stand next to me and I kept trying to tell him to stay back because I'm sick. Then he got really nasty with me and treated me like I was stupid. All I wanted was to tell him they should have some directional signs out at the drive-through, as the other facilities do, to make it easier for those of us who are coming in with half a brain. He was absolutely adamant that I was completely too stupid for life. I hope no one ever treats him as he treated me. read more

Employees are rude and bathrooms are dirty. It seems either people aren't trained to speak with respect or a hostile culture is what CVS is going for. Items are often not stocked--shelves just empty with employees doing nothing. Employees be advised that photos are NOT done in an hour as advertised. Go to Target or Walgreens instead, seriously. Plus, CVS is more expensive for the same items at other stores. read more

I must say 1 day I showed up 1 hour early and they took me in while the entire time the lady at drive through window was super nice and friendly. I live up the street from this store, and there's always a line, with one cashier and the other ones nowhere to be found. Sometimes you have to wait for someone to ring you up, cuz they're not at the cash register!! What happened to 3s A crowd? Some people here ask why the low rating? This is the third time my doctor or a hospital has called in or faxed a Rx but when I go to get it, they say they have not received it. This is after I've called them to confirm they received it because they have done this to me other times as well. Whoever take the orders and faxes is completely inept an can't seem to do their jobs correctly. And when you call to complain they are less than sympathetic, bordering on rude. I like the drive thru because I have young children but at this point it's just not worth the hassle. If you do use this pharmacy, make sure to confirm your Rx twice before going in to pick them up. read more

Their shelves are always packed and they always have their seasonal items right in the middle of the store. I've only used their pharmacy a few times, no complaints in this dept. First and foremost, TAKE YOUR BUSINESS SOMEWHERE ELSE. This is absolutely the worst pharmacy I have ever used. Their "pharmacist", Kay, is absolutely incompetent. My prescriptions are never filled when I need them. I always have to call my doctors at least two times to have them RE fax over the refill request. And Kay will still sit there and say she never got it. She will literally be standing there doing absolutely NOTHING. You can go in and see for yourself. No wonder this place is only rated two stars. PLEASE do not give this incompetent idiot your business. ESPECIALLY if you have any major health issues where getting your prescriptions on time is critical, because I'm telling you from experience you will NOT get them on time. I have used this pharmacy for over 3 years and ALWAYS have excellent customer service as well as reliability....There was even an issue that one of the workers called my insurance company about to help me out. The prices are GREAT, I guess since I only pay a copay. And often the checker near the door will greet you as you come in.....C'mon, other satisfied customers, give this CVS the props it deserves!!!!!! read more

Pharmacy - Depends on who's working there, but generally a pretty good pharmacy staff :) Inside the actual store- It's like a treasure hunt for deals! The bathroom is awful (for the guys section... According to both husband and son). I would go to the McDonalds across the parking lot if you have to do some biznass. Their makeup section is pretty good. A lot of things are overpriced, but you just have to know what's a good deal, and what you're paying double the price for. Coupons come in handy also. You should sign up for their beauty and pharmacy programs, the rewards build up and you get extra bucks in no time.... Sucks that they expire after a certain time, though... I wish they wouldn't do that. The makeup section has definitely gotten better over time (I've been going here for 2 years now to get scripts filled and pick up makeup "fillers" (aka things that I can get at a reasonable price when I'm running out of a certain product). They're definitely overpriced on "organic" things (they have a section for that). Again, coupons help. :) Store is relatively clean and staff up front are nice as well :) CVS, please clean up your bathrooms though... For reals. You could lose customers that way... Seeing that the bathroom is right next to the pharmacy. ...unless it's a clever ploy to get us sick from dirty bathrooms then we have to pick up OTC meds from your store to make us better. For the 2nd time in two months i tried to use a major 8 off coupon and the checker "forgot" to apply it. Explaininf we could ring everything up again or next time. If you are in a hurry you choose next time only to realize the coupon expires in 3 days! What a scam. I also had a nightmare experience at the CVS Pharmacy as well! I stop by to pick up a RX (after receiving alert that it was ready) It look the staff 10 minutes to find the medication, that was sitting on the countertop, not in the refrigerator, where it belongs. The RX staff member told me that my insurance had called them and that I had to pay $161.00 for a prescription that I had already picked up. I called my insurance co., and was told that they would NEVER call CVS with such information, and that it was a charge for a rejected claim that was submitted to early. I call to speak to the Pharmacist, who had no willingness to listen to me! I will never go back! I just transfer by prescription to Safeway in Glen Cove! read more

Store is great! Pharmacy is a joke. Rude staff, long lines, etc. make the extra drive to Rite Aid. Always have an issue when I have to send someone to pick up for me seeing as I had a knee replacement and am not very mobile yet. Waited the hour for them to check the rx was valid (which it was they spoke to the surgeon) but somehow another issue because I'm moved by down to less medication. Shocker. So I asked for my CII back, the pharmacist gave it back with the written approval on it, then wrote void all over it and told me to get another one from my surgeon who is in Walnut Creek! I will happily go somewhere else at first the pharmacy wasnt so horrible after being told several times it was i was like no they are always great when i go there WRONG maybe i was catching them on good days??! This is for the Benicia CVS pharmacy only. I feel badly for some of the pharmacy staff but I will never use this store again. I can understand an issue once, twice or maybe even three times but over and over and over again. Something is terribly wrong. I will echo what someone else here said. They will alert you that your RX is ready and when you get there, they have no idea what you're talking about. I've made sometimes three trips for one medication. With surgery coming up I cannot count on them to have my meds ready. CVS corporate doesn't care either. I have to say, I HATE CVS. This is the worst store I have ever been to in my life. I am not just saying this over one experience, but now 3. I recently had to send a Money Gram and CVS was the only place I knew of to send it. I waited in line for 15 minutes (1 person was ahead of me) . The customer was complaining about not getting a coupon discount. The clerk never acknowledged me, and instead of just apologizing the refunding the man, she let him go on and on. Then when it was my turn, she tells me the Money Gram phone has been down for a week! But I called that afternoon to confirm, and NO ONE bothered to tell me. read more

Went to this store tonight to pick up a couple things. Wanted to be in and out quickly. When I went to pay, Gilberto, the cashier was dealing with an irate customer. I didn't see the original incident that she was upset about, but heard her saying some very racially biased comments to him. Despite this, he remained calm and composed. I, on the other hand couldn't handle her unnecessary racial remarks and told her she was wrong. Throughout all this, he remained calm and polite and was still able to help her get her issue resolved as best he could and still ring up all the other customers in line as quickly as possible! Just wanted to commend him for being able to handle all customers in a wonderful manner, even when they don't deserve it. read more

I live close by so I'm always stopping by only if I really have to, because this place is unfortunately very inconvenient. The cashiers usually move at a slow pace and what urks me the most is when they finally open another lane they take people who JUST GOT IN LINE, they should help the people who were NEXT IN LINE. This lady was using coupons, needed price checks, needed nicoret gum. This took literally 15 mins. I was waiting and waiting and then a lane opened up, the new cashier started helping people that JUST GOT IN LINE, while I had to sit there till the lady finished. Totally unfair. This is the closest drugstore to me and I much prefer it to the other pharmacy that's just a bit further from me. The staff are extremely nice and I have encountered many! It's always organized and clean, again the staff are nice, and it just so happens that many of the things I buy at CVS end up on a coupon or extra bucks with the CVS card. read more

I dropped of my prescription 10 days ago! My doctors office called them and the pharmacy told them it was ready. When I called to verify THEY SAID IT WASNT THERE. I dont even have a yelp account, but these people have made me so frustrated I had to warn everyone. Yes, the prices are a bit high, which is a distractor; however, I expect that when going to these type of pharmacies. I am quite pleased with the selection of items at this CVS. Also, it is the only place around where I have been about to find Xing Tea, which nearly led me to giving a 4 star rating. The pharmacists have been very pleasant and helpful when asking for assistance. Overall, I am pretty happy with this pharmacy. For context, I would find it hard to give a 4 star rating to a pharmacy like this unless something really stood out, so the 3 stars is a pretty positive rating. I would add that it is cleaner and quicker than most the other pharmacies I have experienced in Benicia. read more

Stopped using the pharmacy when they called saying my refills were ready, when none had been requested, in fact refills by law had to be prescribed by my physician. In addition, one prescription was only half full; I had to go back to the store & have the prescription fully filled! This is the worst pharmacy. They often don't have prescriptions ready when they say they will. They have no qualms in telling you that a prescription will be ready in the afternoon, only to find out after coming back for it, that it won't be ready the next day. It took 3 days to have my last prescription filled. They also resist having to call the doctor when a prescription is incorrect. The pharmacist has given incorrect advice on many occasions, including stating that the flu shot was made with a live virus. read more

Stay away from this place, they have some of the rudest staff. I went in to purchase some items today and when I told her the cashier, Latoya, she made a mistake in ringing me up, she went to double check to make sure it was correct. When she verified that I was correct she sent me to the back of the line & told me to wait. I wouldn't mind if it was my mistake but it was YOURS! Look, I worked for CVS for 12 years so I know exactly what they go through and how challenging it can be with zero help, which is how those stores are run. That being said, I went in yesterday to pick up two prescriptions sent in four hours prior. When I got there only one was ready, they didn't have one of them. Wish they could have told me ahead of time. Then they told me it would be in today. I left work early today to pick it up before I leave for vacation tomorrow. I called ahead to make sure it was ready. I waited on hold for 13 minutes (which I took a picture of to prove) before anyone even answered. Finally, they told me they had it but it wasn't ready. I went to wait and they told me it would be ready in an hour, which was irritating since I was a waiter, which should get it done in 15 mins. After waiting ten mins, I get a text from their automated system telling me they have to special order it and it wouldn't be in until 4 days from now. I asked the people at the counter and they confirmed they didn't have it. Despite just telling me they did. They had to transfer my prescription to Another store to wait another half hour to get filled. What a lousy experience. Unfortunately my insurance requires CVS pharmacy for prescriptions, but I will defiantly use a different location from now on read more

I personally love this CVS. As far as the chain itself goes, the prices can be a little high... but having an extra care card is really beneficial if you shop there regularly. And this particular store is always very well organized and well stocked, I always find exactly what I'm looking for right away. The staff is always extremely helpful and friendly. I recommend going during "off hours" since it does get a bit busy when everyone is heading home from work. This store has the worst pharmacist working there " Kay " does not go out of her way in any way shape or form to help a customer ever. I've been dealing with her for several years and finally got pushed to the point of calling her District manager Al. He was very interested in my many complaints about the pharmacist and her inability to give decent and Respectable customer service. She'll do as little as possible to help you get your prescriptions even when she knows she needs to call the doctor she purposely does not so that she doesn't have to for fill your prescription in a timely matter. This is sad for Cvs I've been with them for many years. I've had conversations with the managers several times I guess it takes a conversation with the district manager to actually get my prescription filled, sad day for the Cvs customers in Benicia.
