I have been going to this CVS for several years. They are a very busy location, due to the lack of locations in the northwest area in Bakersfield (Rite Aid closed nearby and I think some traffic has come from there as well). Long lines are not the fault of the store and they have recently added square footage to deal with this. Training staff, working through construction and being impacted by the loss of other stores in competition with them is a difficult transition I would particularly like to acknowledge the outstanding service of Vivian. She has constantly stood out as an example of an employee who goes above and beyond and is a professional in all areas of service. read more

Terrible service & communication. 2 months in a row they were out of my medication which is a very time sensitive medication. Skipping days has a large impact. Instead of being honest that they were out of the meds, they lied day after day about needing a few hours, one more day, etc. The medication requires bloodwork to refill monthly, so I was forced to pay additional money to get new bloodwork because they couldn't get it on time. If there was honest communication this could have been fixed and sent to a new pharmacy.... It's ridiculous. After talking to the doctor prescribing the medication, it turns out it's a federally funded drug so they're legally liable to carry it at all times or they get funding cut which is why they lied instead of helping and being upfront. Made an appointment weeks ago for my son to get 2 vaccines. Showed up, checked in online as the text stated to, and was immediately sent a text stating one of the vaccinations was unavailable. This is unacceptable. We should have been notified of this before we were standing there at our appointment time. I was even told that NO CVS in Bakersfield would carry one of the vaccinations as they do not have refrigeration to keep them. I was also told it was an automated system, so that is just the way it works. I will be avoiding all CVS's for any of my vaccination needs going forward. read more

They took my prescription and said they would fill it, I stuck around for 30 minutes and when they went to ring me up the said that they closed and that their computer could not sell me the meds and that I would need to come back tomorrow, they said it would be too much work to undo everything so I could go to the Walgreens down the road that is 24 hours. The meds had some urgency to them so this is straw that broke the camels back. I have been dealing with bad attitudes from the revolving door of pharmacy staff for years but it's the closest to my house. It's time for me to make that change. read more

CVS Pharmacy - 4401 Coffee Rd, Bakersfield, CA 93308 "Do NOT fill your prescriptions here if you actually need your medication." This location turned my Prempro (hormone replacement) into a two-week hostage crisis. They lie about stock every single day: one employee says "we have it," you call back 12 hours later and suddenly "we've never had it and can't get it." They promised to call other stores and then ghosted. Their "system glitch" that was supposed to allow an emergency override (with override codes given directly to the pharmacist by my medicalRX) was never fixed; nobody ever followed up. On top of that, they have flat-out refused to transfer my remaining refills to Walgreens despite Walgreens faxing transfer requests twice. Because of this pharmacy, I have now been without estrogen for over two weeks while they play games. The only decent human being in that entire store was Vivian; everyone else acts like you're an inconvenience for daring to need life-sustaining medication. I have already filed a formal complaint with the California Board of Pharmacy for refusal to transfer and patient abandonment. Corporate CVS will be getting the same report. THIS IS THEIR RESPONSIBILITY SND FAULT. They need to be fined. Go anywhere else. Walgreens on Calloway has been overnighting medication from other cities just to keep me stable while Coffee Road CVS screws around. Zero stars isn't an option, so one star it is. I have been going to the CVS Pharmacy at 4400 Coffee Road for 25+ years. I have always received professional and courteous service. Everyone that works in the pharmacy is knowledgeable and friendly. I have never had a problem with any of my prescriptions. I signed up for notifications. I get a notification when my prescription is ready for pick up. I receive a barcode and when I get to the pharmacy I go to the pick up area, they scan the barcode and within minutes I have paid for my prescription and I am on my way out the door. One day not so long ago, I dropped off my bottle for a refill and told the young lady I would come back in a couple of days to pick it up. I left and by the time I walked to my car I got a text telling me my refill was ready. Every time I go to this location, when I walk through the door an employee says, "Welcome to CVS and let me know if you need help finding anything". The store is always clean and everyone working there is friendly and helpful. This is the only CVS location I go to because I know I will always get excellent service. read more

As others a mentioned this place is crap, the workers don't want to be there and it shows, they all look liked overworked zombies. So when the one on Rosedale closed, all of my families prescriptions got transferred here. I used to get all my meds in one trip, and now they got it so I have to make 3 trips for myself and I have to order my wife's meds every 3 weeks because they don't carry it in stock, but its in the system and should be refilled every month. I think they need more staff for this location, they are just overwhelmed, two full time cashiers, a person at the drop off desk, and 3-4 people to do the packing and whatever. I really need to find another pharmacy. I really hope they figure something out, because all these one star ratings aren't doing them any good. read more

I'm not surprised by these selfless and outrageous comments. APPRENTLEY, you have not worked for minimum wage, and on a skeleton crew. Due to COVID, every company is cutting back, and finding cheaper ways to make money. These high experts sit in their office and find ways to cut costs but, they are not dealing with workloads or the customers. So Please, take a step back and LOOK around and pause and remember those poor employees are just doing their jobs and the hours the store is allotted for staff. You need to complain to Corporate that there is not enough help in their stores to accommodate their customers AND what needs to be done in they're stores. I was told my medication was going to be ready in 15 minutes, but I had to wait 2 hours for it. The following day I came back, and I had to wait about 90 minutes. The "manager" was there both times. On the second time I could even see they were talking about me. I moved to Costco, and I'm better off now. I have been filling my family's prescriptions here since moving in the neighborhood three years ago... they are notorious for sending notifications/text messages that the prescription is ready and then I get to the pharmacy and your staff has not even filled the prescription yet. 9 out of 10 times this is the case. today I had two pending prescriptions that I got notifications for, orders that I know my doctor sent 1-2 days ago now. I get to the pharmacy and the tech says it's not yet ready, that it will take another 15 minutes so I agreed to come back. I proceeded to shop for other items in the store came back 20 minutes later as they're closing the window in my face, the entire pharmacy staff just staring at me saying "we close for lunch at 1:30. You'll need to come back after two..". As I'm checking out in line the same pharmacy tech who told me to come back in 15 minutes and then close the window in my face was in line just chitchatting with the cashier with no acknowledgment of what poor service they just provided... They also discontinued free delivery for shipment orders made more than 5 days in advance. One of the larger ones that are closer to a mart. Like, I wouldn't even call it a mini-mart. Goes well past being just a pharmacy. Lots of selection of foods, over-the-counter stuff, makeups, clothing, and other nik-naks. Lotto machine conveniently placed next to ATM. ;) The works. I like the people that work there. Always somebody there if you need to ask about something. Friendly staff. Lot of places like that you turn around and back again, then all you see is a tumbleweed and eerie giggling that may or may not be the A/C. read more

Zero stars. I went to CVS to have some pictures made and return 2items. The only one who seemed to be working in the store was a new employee who had no idea what she was doing. She trying her best and called her manager when I asked to please ask someone to help who knew how to run the print yourself picture machine. I was there for what seemed like hrs. She kept saying try starting over. No one ever came out of the office if there was someone there. I'm writing this not only because I am pissed but they should be ashamed of themselves for leaving this employee by herself. After I finally finished getting the pictures there were 3 employees or managers standing around talking. Mind you the store basically had no customers besides me and I can see why. CVS employees are very friendly, one always greets you as you enter with "Hello, CVS." I like to be acknowledged by salespeople as I enter a business because if I need assistance, I know where to find help. I don't find them intrusive, though. CVS has a very extensive collection of beauty supplies including cosmetics, skin care, and hair care products. They also have quite a few different types of medication. The prices may be a wee bit higher than at the grocery store, but I think it is worth it to get the variety you will find here. I also like that they carry gift wrapping supplies and cards. I'm a fan of CVS Pharmacy; they get a double thumbs up from me. The store is open from 8am-10pm daily, but the pharmacy itself is open 8am-9pm Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm on Saturday, and 10am-6pm on Sundays. read more

I came in to look for a battery that goes to my watch, a CR 1632. Just so happens that they didn't have the battery, but I was helped by a very nice guy named Angel. Even though I couldn't find it at the store, he gave me some recommendations on where to go to find it. I need up just buying it online because it was easier, but it was really nice of him to help me out even though the store he was working at didn't carry the battery. I am done with CVS! Every month I have to fight to get insulin, for which I have a prescription. Tonight the pharmacist raised his voice at me and when I told him he needed to fill it the way my doctor said, he replied with, "My brother and uncle are doctors." She tried to over charge us and acted like she was put out when we requested she charge us the price listed on the shelf. She then refused to honor their promise to take $2 off for over charging; then she refused to scan a coupon. I won't be coming back. The only reason I use CVS is because my insurance makes me. They never have the prescription I need and always have to order. I very seldom get my prescriptions filled the first time I visit. I usually have to go back 2 or 3 times just to get my complete prescription. Luckily I only have to put up with this once every 3 months!
