Typical zoo inside but at least the people were friendly, big location so selection was decent too.

More like a local store than a national chain. Pharmacist is wonderful and the others couldn't be nicer and more helpful!

It is not a one-off issue -- every time I interact with them, they are rude, short-tempered, and dismissive. Basic questions are met with impatience or eye-rolling, and the service feels unnecessarily unpleasant.

When I get a text message that a prescription is ready, because of past experience I try to make sure via the app or calling that in fact it is filled with the correct price attached. But usually there are issues when I go to pick up - either the Rx hasn't been filled correctly or at all, and usually I have to ask them to apply the GoodRx price. Is pretty common that they say I need to come back the next day - because of their errors. Just happened yet again. I was picking up three prescriptions, only one was filled correctly. The second wasn't even ready although their text said it was, but they had to order. Then CVS tried to charge $111 instead of the $36 GoodRx price. Luckily, the pharmacist was able to adjust the price, but I shouldn't have to ask every single time for every single prescription, GoodRx is saved in my profile. So frustrating! Pretty recently, their system was down for like a week and they weren't able to apply any GoodRx prices. And another time I was overcharged by $75 because they just wouldn't apply the GoodRx price, and I needed the Rx and couldn't wait longer or come back a third time. This time, for some unknown reason, the pharmacist had only filled the third prescription with 14 pills instead of 30, as indicated by the doctor. The pharmacist was not able to correct it, she did not know why they didn't fill it properly, but said that she would have to leave them a note to correct it and I needed to come back the following day. When I came back the following day, after trying to check via the app that the pill count and price had been corrected, I found out it had not. There was only one person there, the pharmacist, and she had to redo the Rx while I waited. The price was a couple of dollars more than the GoodRx price, but I didn't have the energy to try to get that corrected. If it doesn't have the best GoodRx prices, I would go anywhere but CVS.

I live right by this pharmacy, so I can't speak to how difficult public parking may be. With regard to the store: every time I've gone there, I've had no problems with inventory or finding items. The store checkout lines haven't been too long for me, either. The store is clean and is open later than the other stores in the building. There's an entrance through the building's front, but also a dedicated Walgreens entrance on the side when the main building is closed. And they've got a Starbucks inside the building right before the Walgreens, too. With regard to the pharmacy: yes, there are usually always long lines, but I feel as though that's the case for almost every other Walgreens pharmacy. At least here, they've been fairly efficient in making sure they get to the next person in the queue by having the other person wait on the side, essentially "on standby." The Walgreens mobile app has been very, very, very helpful at this location (highly recommend!!). Whenever I get notified that my prescription is ready, it's always been 100% accurate for me. And when I pick my prescription up, the app has notified me that it got picked up, with exact accuracy as to the time. I saw a review on this page from mid-2020 talking about Dr. Karen, the pharmacist. And she's still working here! She helped me transfer my prescription from my pharmacy across the country, which I used when I went home for a holiday break. The customer service in general has been great too, especially when I had a problem with my insurance.

Very efficient and pleasant staff. I like going there. And I recommend the store to all my friendsread more

Great CVS pharmacy! This location is located conveniently off of Lee Highway and easy to access in…read morethe Lyons Village Shopping Center. The store is bright, open, well-organized and finally..... a CVS with shelves that are fully stocked with most of your essential items and not locked in cages everywhere! I love it this way and it makes the shopping experience much better and more efficient, than to have to wait, ring a bell, or flag someone down just to unlock cages and shelves to get your items. This is a rarity these days, given all the theft and "snatch n'grabs" going on with CVS locations in the DMV. Another added plus is that there is a MinuteClinic, HealthHub and Pharmacy all located in one at this location, which makes it convenient for getting all your shots, medication's and quick healthcare needs addressed with a nurse on site. Also, the staff here are very friendly and helpful. There were folks on the floor available to point you to anything you needed to find in the store. Not to mention, lots of great sales and this store is the perfect place for 'stacking" those CVS coupons! They truly come in handy and save you a good bit of dollars. I came in here today and stacked a couple of coupons against each other on my items, which saved me over half on my purchase from $78 dollars to $36! Given the location and all the amenities of this CVS, I definitely recommend this store and give them a thumbs up!

A couple of months ago the store manager was kind enough to me to honor a coupon that had expired because they did not have what I was looking for in stock. That would be a single bar of soap. I came in today to purchase the same soap, and miraculously they had a single bar of soap sitting there on the shelf. I also wanted to get a large orange red bull, and they were completely out of all large red bull energy drinks. Likewise for Halloween candy. With weeks left until Halloween night, there was barely anything in the shelves. I highly doubt that the manager or store staff is to blame for this shortfall. But one would think that if this chain is able to change close to $8 for a pack of Oreo cookies, that they would do a better job keeping merchandise in stock.

Your best bet is to patron the smaller local pharmacies in the area. This store in particular has also always given me the creeps. Dark, trashy and spooky. It's a must stop on Halloween for sure!

If I could give negative stars I would. Blatantly rude pharmacist that was very confrontational and…read moredid not want to help with my prescription concerns. The pharmacist was a foreign bald dude with a slight beard. He should be fired. Was not willing to help with my prescription and clearly does not care about his job or the people his job is intended to cater for. My physician gave me an additional discount for my prescription that works at any CVS. I kindly asked the lady dealing with me if she would be able to apply the discount card. The man immediately interjected and said "We close at 7. Tomorrow." He then followed up with: "you have good insurance. You don't need more discount." Absolute A-Hole comment. Clearly is not happy with his job or life. I ended up just paying the difference because I did not want to deal with him or get into an argument. Truthfully ruined my day. They could've said no and been nice about it and given a reasonable explanation as to why they wouldn't accept it. But the rudeness and attitude was really over the top and is why I am writing this review. Do not go here unless you want to have your day ruined by rude people.

I'm a lay minister with many years of community service experience and I'm also studying theology…read morein grad school. I like to show grace whenever possible, so even when I have to go on Yelp to write about a bad experience, I try to be fair and constructive. But you know, I'm also human. First of all, the employee named Raheem either needs to be re-trained or has to be let go. I don't like calling out employees by name in reviews unless it's for good service but Raheem made me feel so uncomfortable that I'm forced to go public like this in the hope that it will foster change. Until Raheem rung up my merchandise, I had never had a retail experience -- at CVS or other stores -- where I was pressured to accept a subscription. Raheem was giving me the hard sell for the CVS CarePass, by giving me a song and dance about how CVS recognizes that Americans are going through hard times right now and that the company wants to help the community by giving away ten dollars off each total purchase. Blah blah blah. I'm not naive. We've all gone through our fair share of sales pitches for rewards clubs. But Raheem was going for it hard like he was the used care salesman of the CVS world. It was horrific. He wouldn't take No for an answer. He just kept going on and on about things like "But you can take the ten dollars now and cancel tomorrow." And in my head I was thinking, "I don't want to cancel tomorrow. I don't want to do ANYTHING that I DO NOT WANT to do tomorrow." In fact, I was very close to spitting out a lecture about consent. Instead, I just politely smiled and said variations of "no" with increasing firmness. And all the while, my mom was standing next to me, not knowing what to do. What's the moral of this story? That bad customer service experiences happen? Maybe. But the other moral of the story might be that you never know what a customer is going through, so learn to read the room -- or at least try not to make hard sells. You see, the thing is, this CVS is located within a 20 minute walk from MedStar Georgetown. I can only imagine how many people like my mom and I shop there: we are family members of a patient currently hospitalized at MedStar Georgetown. My dad had a stroke and he was helicoptered there from our home hospital in the suburbs to get better treatment. We got a hotel nearby so it would be easier to get to my dad every day during the early stages of his recovery. By the time we were at CVS tonight, we were tired and hungry after a long day of caring for my dad, and we had a lot of merchandise that needed to be rung up. The last thing we needed was Raheem making us feel like crap because we didn't want to accept his offer. While I'm on the subject, I didn't like the way Raheem's coworker -- a man whose name I didn't get, sadly -- scoldingly told me to take all my stuff out of my basket. On the one hand, I understand. But on the other, if you're gonna come at me like that for protocol, maybe you should keep the basket holders closer to the registers. What is the customer supposed to do when you snap at them to take all their stuff out of the basket? Trudge all the way over to the front doors in the middle of a transaction to replace the basket in the one basket holder in the whole store?! Is the cashier going to take the basket back from me after I empty it and place it behind the register? No instruction provided whatsoever. Just take your stuff out. If I wanted this kind of treatment, I would go shopping in the slums of my home country. "Show me your pockets!" I hate writing a review like this in which the antagonists are BIPOC folks. But you know the saying. Not all skin folk are kin folk. Avoid this CVS. Especially when you have loved ones at MedStar Georgetown. You will be demeaned and belittled far beneath whatever medical crisis has already sunk you to your lowest low.
