A fantastic pace for wine lovers. I stopped in on a Wednesday night and had a great few glasses of happy hour winds, as well as their specialty pizza. The happy hour is quite amazing, must ask what bottles are available for happy hour as they change daily on whatever bottles were open the night before. Honestly I think this is genius as you get to try different bottles at half price if you come weekly. The pizza I tried had sausage and olives, which I'm not a big fan of, but I actually ate on this pizza because they were delicious, and asparagus. Im not a huge wine drinker but I'll definitely try stuff and I know what I don't like. We came for happy hour. I got the Pinot Grigio while my friends got a Reisling, and another white. We also shared a salmon pate, arancini, and a chicken salad pate. We all got burgers as well. Everything was delicious, well-presented, and worth the price. They've got indoor and outdoor seating too. The owner came out and talked to us which was cool! He visited each table to make sure we enjoyed the food. Very impressed! If you know me, you know I love wine so Cuvee is a great spot for girls night! My bestie was in town from Florida and we met here a few weeks ago for happy hour. Every day from 4-6 they offer 1/2 price wines by the glass from bottles that were opened - yet properly sealed the night before. Pretty cool because it always changes. You could get some really cool, unique wine 1/2 price. We weren't super hungry so we just ordered a cheese board with all 5 of the cheeses offered. So good. The fried goat cheese was my favorite. Been coming here quite a bit since February. Happy hour on wine selections from 4:30pm every day. Large selection of wines to choose from, in addition to the very knowledgeable staff makes it delight to come here to relax. They also offer chef specials daily and they do not disappoint. Due to my lack of yelping, I recently felt the urge to try out a new place again for dinner. Cuvee Wine Table is not too far from my work, so I decided to meet my boyfriend there for a glass of wine and some tapas plates. To be honest, I'm a little surprised this place is in a strip mall. I think that fact alone dulls its spark a bit, but once you walk inside you will completely forget about that. When you walk into Cuvee, you walk into a dark, candle-lit room, where the music and voices are turned down low. I absolutely love it. Our entire experience was pretty great here too. We lucked out by coming in during happy hour, and enjoyed a few glasses of their wonderful Zinfandel. It was dry, but had some notes of blackberry that was nice. Our server did a great job making wine and food recommendations as well. We had a hard time deciding what food to order, because everything sounded so good! We went with the herbed fries and the fromaggio (i think?) flatbread. Both dishes came out quick and were wonderful! This place is great for a date night, a group get together (they do have a private room,) or just to get out and get some good wine. The staff are friendly and the prices aren't too bad. Cuvée is one of those places that always popped up on my open table app for a reservation. We moved recently and it is near our new house so we decided to go as a small group of 4 on a weekend evening. Upon arrival the owner/manager took much time explaining the menu and wine options to us which we appreciated. We all ordered drinks from the large drink menu and were surprised to see they offer martinis. We ordered wine anyway and everyone liked their choices. The wine gets 5 stars from me but the food I had to give 4 stars. My husband's burger was over cooked. The salads we ordered had good flavor but the portion size was much smaller than expected and lacked much ingredients at all. We did really enjoy our appetizers--the poutine and olives. 4/5 Food: I loved the seafood dishes. We got the scallops and the grilled shrimp. Both were fresh and not overcooked. Portions are tapas style so not very big. We also tried the duck flatbread which I also enjoyed the contrasting sweet and savoriness. My least favorite was the melted provolone cheese with baguettes. The food was absolutely awful. We went for Valentine's Day and they had a very limited menu of only lobster bisque for a starter, and a choice of two options for dinner, either a cioppino or a prime rib. This was not a prix fix menu, just an extremely limited menu without the ability to order from their regular menu. I ordered the cioppino and my husband ordered the prime rib medium rare. Our waiter returned after our order and told us "at this time of the night, we are unable to serve the prime rib at medium rare and it will be medium instead." Our reservation was for 8pm and we were exactly on time. Maybe the prime rib sat under a warmer for hours? The prime rib came out completely well done, not even close to medium. My cioppino was much worse. It was a small bowl of thick tomato sauce mixed with a tiny amount of minced fish. There were no chunks of fish, calamari, shrimp, or anything else to speak of. There were only three stringy mussels and one stringy clam in the entire dish. It was the most underwhelming and worst cioppino I've ever had. It was a tiny amount in a small bowl that was billed as an entree. On the bright side, perhaps a small amount of terrible food is better than a large amount of terrible food? My small and awful cioppino was $36 and my husband's well done prime rib was around $50 I think? We ordered a good bottle of Bordeaux was this was the only bright spot of the night. Our evening at Cuvee reminded me why we so rarely go out on Valentine's Day. read more

I've been here multiple times before and always forget to write a review. This time I finally remembered to take pictures and write a review. This place is nice. Every time I've patronized this establishment, the employees are always very friendly. They all know a lot about wine and can suggest various ones that pair well with the food. On my most recent visit, I ordered the flatbread pizza with salmon. It's really good and flavorful. My friends ordered the chicken and one ordered the hamburger. They all enjoyed their food as well. I really like this place because it's not a stereotypical bar, it's location is really nice and there's ample parking. I visited Cuvee Wine Table with a group of girlfriends for a weekday happy hour. They have some awesome happy hours specials, and we were pleasantly surprised to learn that any bottles they have left open from the day before are sold by the glass at half price. The server will tell you what they have in that selection, and once the bottle is gone if you stick with the same wine it will go up to full price, or you can opt for something else. Several of my friends opted for this and ended up getting some really nice wines at a great price! I love sweet wine, so I opted for the moscato from their happy hour selection and it was delicious! They also have a nice beer and spirits selection, but the real gem is the wine list. It's huge! Outside of drinks, their menu offers appetizers, salads, small plates, flat bread pizzas, sweets, and more for dining. I ordered the Provoleta Small Plate, which is a small cast iron skillet filled with melted provolone cheese, cherry tomatoes, crushed red pepper, and chimichurri and served with toasted baguette. It was delicious! I mean, how can melted cheese, with wine, be bad?! I ended up getting the Provence salad, olives, and the special burger. The salad was small and not what I thought it would be from the description on the menu. The olives were very good. The burger was overcooked and a good amount smaller than the bun. Flavor was pretty good, but the meat was a little tough. Ambiance was great and it seems they have many repeat customers. What a nice little place out near Tinseltown. We made a last minute reservation on Open Table on a Saturday evening. Hildy was our server, but she was really busy at first so another person came to take our drink order quickly. She came by right after that and got us informed with specials and recommendations. The restaurant is not very big, but we'll spaced. There is outdoor seating with heaters, but in this 15 degree January weather, the outdoor seating was out of the question. The ladies restroom (a single) was nice and accommodating. Nobody sat at the bar, but it looked inviting. There was TV (on mute) if you needed to see a game. We enjoyed a Provence salad, grilled shrimp and hubby got the chicken schnitzel with fried potatoes on the side. I would order mine again, but maybe his was a little heavy. Enjoyed some wine. We were lucky enough to chat with Scott the owner & a master sommelier. There are only two in Louisville as I understand. He is a gracious host & a wealth of knowledge. The restaurant has a wine club we plan on joining. This is definitely the place to meet up with other wine minded friends. For a recent night out to catch up with a good friend, we both wanted to try somewhere new. After consulting Yelp, I decided on a spot that neither of us had tried, Cuvée wine table. Tucked away in Springhurst at the corner of a shopping strip (Pie and Ice Cream Kitchen used to be in this spot at one point), it's a cozy, intimate location that is perfect for a meal with friends, family, or even as a date night. We were promptly greeted as we walked in and immediately seated. The ambience is very cozy but sophisticated, with jazz music playing (alas not live), candles, and small tables. Our friendly server explained a little of the history of the restaurant. Owned by a sommelier (one of only 250 in the country), the restaurant pairs a huge number of wines with delicious small plates that are perfect for sharing. We decided on one of the happy hour wines, then several of the small plates. We started with the olives. Savory with a tang of citrus, it was the perfect amuse-bouche to start out the meal. Next was the crab bruschetta, which our server said is a favorite, as we could easily see. Fresh and just-crisp-enough bread had a spread of creamy crab on each slice. We followed that up with the Provoleta, which is a bit and melty cheese dish with bread for dipping on the side. We were perfectly full after our meal and declined dessert, but that just gives us a reason to return again. I'm giving this place a three because overall it was a nice place but it is misleading. Our server was decent with explaining the wines specials and foods but also mislead us when it came to the happy hour wines. Just be warned that their happy hour is the bottles of wine from the night before so if you order one glass, they might not have another glass because they have to open another bottle. I'm a little disappointed by the charcuterie board as well. You can pick 2, 4, or 5 meats and cheeses but they don't garnish it with any complimentary sauces or fruits. It's very plain. We got the 5 board and it was underwhelming. I got a burger and it was great. The garlic aioli was amazing. For a girls night, the space was perfect for chit chatting and catching up and I appreciate our server letting us know about the wait in the kitchen before placing our orders. We just shrugged and assumed maybe it had to do with the specials list we were given? Anyway, we get to the end where we are ready to settle the check and thats when we learn the bottles that had been opened the night before are offered at 50% off. Well as first timers here how would we know? Where would we have looked to see what was available? Even if the server had said something like "theres no list but i can tell you if there is anything in the category you are looking at that qualifies" would have been awesome. I really enjoyed this wine place. It's located in a plaza, which I think isn't the most desirable or inviting location, but looking past that it turned out to be a very enjoyable evening. Cuvée opens at 4:30. Happy hour is until 7pm where they offer half price on select wines (I'm not sure if this applies to certain days of the week). Otherwise, be prepared for expensive full priced wines. I sat at the bar, as my purpose was to enjoy wine and maybe a small bite to eat. As with some restaurants, they let you sample taste a couple of wines if you're undecided. I asked the bartender if this was possible, as I wasn't familiar with the wines on their menu. The bartender proceeded to ask the manager and he flatly said "no". I'm OK with this if this is a blanket policy, but given that the bartender was inclined to ask the manager led me to believe it's actually discretionary - I'm not quite sure based on what. This was a bit disappointing to witness, but I let it go, as I was in much need of a relaxing evening. I ordered the small plate, Provoleta. It was incredibly good - I literally smashed it! I'm not a fan of baguettes, as I often don't find them enjoyable to eat - too hard. The chef did an excellent job at sizing them. They were easy to eat and not too hard. Surprisingly, they arrived looking burnt. I was tempted to return them, but decided to taste them first. I'm glad I Iistened to my inner voice because they were perfectly grilled, easy to eat, tasty, and very complementary to the main dish. The olive oil used could be tasted and was wonderfully flavored. I absolutely loved this dish. The bartender (I wish I could remember his name) was the highlight of my time spent at Cuvée. He was incredibly nice, helpful, and full of knowledge. He was a joy to talk to. In the end, I had 2 glasses of wine and a bourbon drink that was really good (his own creation), along with the Provoleta small plate. The only major downside to my visit was the lack of bathroom attention. I arrived right at opening time. About 30 minutes into my visit I went to the ladies room. It was not good. I'm 100% positive they didn't give the ladies room attention the night before or before opening that day. It was out of toilet paper and the floor was dirty in multiple places. And the sink obviously hadn't been cleaned (in a while, I might add) - built up dust and dirt everywhere. So I did tell the manager the ladies room needed attention, as customers were starting to flow in. Although all restaurants should give proper attention to the cleanliness of their restrooms, I especially expect it from one with even a slight higher price point. If I'm going to patronize your restaurant, enjoy the ambience, take delight in tasting your chef's unique creations, and pay the high price points...and tip very well because the customer service was on point, then at least give me a clean ladies room. I will definitely return, as I enjoyed the bartender and the service he provided, the wine, and the Provoleta small plate. A spur of the moment gathering brought me, my husband and 4 friends to Cuvee for dinner. We visited on a Saturday night around 7:30p and had no issue being seated. A few tables are also available on the patio; however, Cuvee is located in a strip mall shopping area, so nothing more than a parking lot to enjoy. The wine menu is large and they serve in 2 oz, 6-1/2 oz or full bottle. Some come only as a bottle. With Cuvee being touted as a wine bar, I was disappointed in the menu - not by the selection but by the lack of description. We also didn't get much help from our server despite our questions about his recommendations. I also felt disappointed by the 2 oz pour due to my experience of getting a min of 3 oz at other wine bars. Prices for the smaller pour range from $3-6 each. Ironically, you'll get more description for beers on tap and a better value for the price. I opted for the goat cheese flatbread as my small plate. It was a decent portion and the goat cheese was delicious. I also tried the polenta fries. We got 5 large fries with the order. Unfortunately, even dipping the fries in the accompanying sauce, the flavor was bland. Most of the menu for entree small plates is seafood. Several in my group tried these selections - salmon, scallops and shrimp. While the food was cooked and presented well, even for small plates the portion was small. The restaurant itself is very nice, more of a formal vibe. I compared being here to moving into a new subdivision where it's the new house and very clean, but lacking in character and warmth. I got the same vibe for the service. Our server was friendly but he primarily took orders, didn't bring energy and expertise and seemed unsure of recommending items on the menu. I also wish there were crackers on the board instead of only bread. We took advantage of the buy a bottle get 50% another bottle of wine. We would not recommend the calamari. We hit up Cuvee for dinner before seeing a movie at a nearby theater. It was a weeknight and relatively early, so we were greeted and seated immediately. Our server was friendly and helped us decide on a few small plates to share. The highlight was definitely the Provoleta, and considering it's a skillet of sizzling cheese, so what's not to like?! We also ordered the burger special, which is chef-created each Tuesday. The bacon on the burger was extra crispy, which was the highlight. Overall there were a lot of components and they didn't work together particularly well. Finally, we also had the Speck flatbread, topped with gruyere, apple, caramelized onions, and micro greens. We had a great dining experience, at Cuvée. Since I passed the location showing a new wine bar would be opening, I have been wanting to go. I finally had the opportunity, to go, and it was better than expected. We walked in and were met with a friendly greeting and seated right away. There were lots of specials, for happy hour and for the meal. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. The wine list was impressive and there were many "interesting" and uncommon wines. The food menu had a nice assortment of meal choices. I want to go back and try many of the items; especially the salads, which looked incredible. Our waitress, Melody, was great. I loved how she was so easy to talk to and how she was so willing to offer suggestions and her preferences. She seemed to love the restaurant and her job, which was a nice thing. The Polenta Fries made for a nice start. The Tuna special was melt in your mouth delicious, with great flavors. The crab bruschetta was nice. We really liked the cheese board. The only thing I would add to it would be a scoop of jam. The cheeses were all incredible. I can't wait to go back and drink more of their wine and try more of their food. Look it's just unbeatable service. Friendly and welcoming, they made sure you loved everything so they earned their 5 stars for service, then there is the food. Seared AHI had a little too much sesame on the end pieces and there's too much salt to be farm to table healthy, but that's just my preference to be low salt healthy. I went to Cuvee for girls night out and we will definitely be going back. The wine is pricey but they have happy hours from 4-7 with select half priced wines. We tried the smoked Salmon (basic but good and the grape mustard was interesting with it) , yellowfin tuna (good, nice amount for the price), lamb sliders (just ok) provoleta (it was great and our favorite thing of the night but its hot melted cheese so hard to go wrong!), burrata salad (favorite of the 2 salads), the kale salad (good) and the Expresso panna cotta (very good, super creamy and not too sweet). My friends commented a lot about the sliced baguette being perfect. It tasted great and it was cut to the perfect width for the perfect bite. Which seems like a no brainier but most places cut it way to thick and it's hard to eat. The wine was delightful, the waiter was very attentive and nice, good ambiance and tasty food. I love wine. And there are some good spots in town to get some good wine. Cuvee is one of those places. You can get wine by the glass or by the bottle, and even create your own flight! The servers and bartenders are happy to provide suggestions or direct you in the right way for your preferred tastes. I got a recommendation from our server and really liked what I got (after telling her I enjoy dry whites if they are oaky/fuller-flavored), and there were sweeter options on the menu that I knew I would like and felt comfortable ordering a full glass of. There is certainly something for every palate. They also have food, which I totally forgot about until I got there. My wine-drinking companion was looking to eat and offered to share their selections with me. And y'all...I am down with that! We got the seasoned olives which were interesting with the orange that came with it and added a different than expected flavor. Not unwelcome, just unexpected! We also shared one of the flatbreads. The vegetarian one, if I recall. And it was good, although very overcooked (ya know....more than a bit burnt) on this particular visit. It still tasted good, if a little extra crunchy and charcoal-y. Cuvee isn't in my usual areas-I-visit comfort zone, but it is a nice addition to the city and to the area it is in. If you are looking for some place to enjoy some good wine on that side of town, Cuvee is a great place to do it! read more
