I called Cutting Edge Tree Services for an estimate on some tree trimming. Tom, the owner, answered and came right out and gave a very reasonable estimate, much lower than another estimate I had received. His crew came out about a week later and did a really good job but they missed separating and trimming back a neighbor's pomegranate tree which was tangled up with one of my orange trees. I called Tom back and he had his crew back out the next day and they did a great job. I highly recommend this company and will certainly be calling on them in the future. read more

I hired Cutting Edge Tree Services to trim two trees on May 8th- an Acaica in my front yard and a Mesquite in my back yard. The Acacia looked great. The mesquite did not. There was too much taken off of one side that had provided a good amount of shade to my back yard (no contact to the house). I was hopeful that the tree just needed to grow back some and that it would look fine so I did not reach out to Tom until almost 3 months later (July 26). I should have reached out sooner but that's a moot point now. Wednesday night (July 29), the main tree branch broke so now Im not sure what going to happen to it. I was quoted to take weight off the tree to prepare for monsoon season and I think the weight was taken of in the wrong spots. Tom (Owner) came out for the estimate and he was very knowledgeable and gave us a rundown of what his team would do with our extremely large and invasive species of tree. A week later, even though we had other quotes I chose Cutting Edge Tree Services, there was a small scheduling issue with his staff but Tom personally called to apologize and rescheduled us. They took the tree out yesterday and did an amazing job. The team cleaned everything up and even the leaves that were on the roof. I would recommend them for any tree services you need. read more

I've had Cutting Edge come over twice to do tree and cactus removals at the old home I recently bought. The first time, they removed a bunch of dead ocotillo, a fan palm and a large ficus tree. They showed up just about the time I was heading to work, walked me through everything, and by the time I got home... it looked like they were never there and the trees were gone. Great cleanup job! After my first experiance, I called Tom back up to come remove a 30' saguro (regretably... end of life) and a massive ocotillio next to it to start my landscape remodel. Just as amazing of an experiance the second time as the first. In addition, Tom helped me find an amazing landscape designer for my property and I'll probably be using the landscaper he recomended for clearing all the gravel/grass off the property. Definitely helps when youre new in town and trying to find good services! If I had any tree's left on my property... I'd 100% be using Cutting Edge again. read more

I was able to get an estimate within a day of calling the company. The owner is very knowledgeable about anything you would need to know concerning palm trees. The estimate was reasonable and the work was scheduled for just a few days later. The project involved cutting down a huge messy palm tree. The tree was only a few feet away from our pool so of course the job resulted in lots of debris in the pool. The workers cleaned everything up beautifully. They did everything with safety in mind and did a great job all around. I will be hiring this company again for annual trimming of our other palms. read more

One of our Mesquite tree snapped completely in half in our front yard, so we needed an arborist to remove it. Tom was professional and courteous both on the phone and in person. He gave us a quick estimate and did a walk through of our entire yard and inspected all the trees for us. Once we settled on the work to be performed, he was able to get us in within 24 hours. We had an old large eucalyptus tree that was dying and needed to be removed as there was a possibility a storm could knock it down causing it to fall on the house. Jason Steele and his crew did an excellent job of removing the tree. We were very impressed with their professionalism, especially placing logs on the street so when the tree fell it wouldn't break the asphalt. Their estimate was fair and their work was great. Tom and his crew trimmed our mesquite about 2 years ago. They were getting heavy again and decided it was time for another trim. There was also one large limb that was threatening a wall that we wanted removed. His crew did an excellent job thinning and balancing our three trees and removing that troublesome limb. Let me start by saying if you want a tree service that actually knows how to prune and thin trees correctly and not resort to "TOPPING", these are the people to call. I have been trying to find someone I could trust and afford and who actually knows how to take care of trees after I lost my old previous arborist. Cutting Edge Tree Services is it. Tom is very knowledgeable and friendly and his crew was great. My big tall Willow Acacia looks like this year it will actually be able to withstand the monsoon winds and it looks beautiful! Tree trimming was pretty good at a fair price but customer service is lacking. They did not call to confirm the appointment, did not show up on time so I had to call and make sure they were still coming, and when they finished they left without allowing me to check it out first. There still some hanging limbs that need trimming and it could've been done very easily had they taken the time to come to the door and let me see it before they left. I did ask that they let me know before they left so I could see it, but they were gone without a word. I sent a few text messages to the owner and got no response so I'm giving them at three. read more

I wanted a certified arborist to trim a large tree in the front yard because I wanted a more natural appearance than what I typically see when a landscape maintenance person takes hedge trimmers to a tree. I call the resulting shape a "lollipop tree." I also wanted my tree to remain healthy and strong. Cutting Edge Tree Service did a fabulous job. Tom was quick to reply to my request for assessment and quote. He made the process smooth and easy. Tom provided a very reasonable quote and scheduled service the next week but was able to come sooner after another job was postponed by the homeowner. We were so impressed with the job, customer service and fair price! They responded quickly, gave us a free quote and handled a big job really quick. We had three giant eucalyptus trees cut down and the stumps grinded. It literally looks like the trees were never there! One of our neighbors was not happy about the noise (which obviously occurs when cutting down trees) she was having a pretty bad morning and took it out on the guys that were working on the trees. They didn't miss a beat and kept working through the screaming and yelling. I can only imagine some of the things they heard, it they were super professional and respectful to her.....although they were getting screamed at. A year ago, I had Cutting Edge do a major job in my back yard. They had to remove two fully mature mesquites with 50 ft canopies, dangerously hanging over the pool and house. The roots were uprooting our walkways, walls and other hardscape in many areas. They did a fantastic job and safely removed both trees (Quite a.show to behold too). Their clean-up operation was also great and quickly accomplished. I also had them trim a 60 foot Texas Ebony and a Palo Verde that covered half my yard. Oh, and don't want to forget the fully grown palms in my front yard as well. I highly recommend these hard-working guys. Their price was right too. Not cheap, but very competitive. I just invited them back to trim my trees again this year. read more

These guys are professional scammers. One guy will come and give you a verbal quote. Another guy by the name of "Tom Edel" will later send you a quote which will have the trees they agreed to trim but with different prices (one tree very over priced and the other less than what they quoted). The grand total will be what they had verbally agreed with you so people will not be bothered. Then when they come to do the trimming they start with the "high cost" tree. When they go to the next tree they will trim just 20% of what they agreed and will say we cannot do more for the price we quoted. When I got the e-mail which had different prices for each tree and the final cost what we agreed I replied back to them asking why. But they never replied back. I was OK because I thought the final cost was what mattered. Professional scammers. I hope other will not fall to this trap. Please hire someone else. read more
