Anyway, Eric is right in my neighborhood and took my super dull kitchen knives and sharpened them razor sharp. So happy with the results that I even purchased one of his knives. I love that he's an 8 minute drive from me in my old hood El Cerrito. Eric told me that he sharpens by hand which is something I totally suck at. On her passing, I got it back and it was not in prime shape. Tip bent, damage to the blade, dents to the spine, etc. Not pretty at the last, but it was her workhorse of the kitchen and she loved it for decades. I took it to John and he did a fantastic job of removing damage to the blade, tip, and spine. Results - As sharp as it was when new, properly beveled, tip trimmed and belly curve well done, and most spine dents removed, but reminders of character remain. Now it's MY workhorse of the kitchen (along with a 10" Mercer and a 6" Vic paring knife). Done quickly, professionally, and with care. Great job overall and all my blades will go to John for treatment.
