Great service! I've been in need to sharpen two sets of my professional hair cutting shears. I could not find anyone in my area (Oakland/SF) so I gave Mark a call & he let me know he was available to do this type of sharpening work. Don't do what I do which was just show up to the drop off location. Call Mark first to set up drop off and pick up time. He was able to accommodate my request & I picked up my beautifully sharpened basically brand new shears the next day. Prices are reasonable & service was great. Wish I could give Mark six stars! Sent him my five favorite kitchen knives and a food processor blade. He did a fantastic job on all of them! The serrated bread knife hadn't been sharpened since it was gifted to me almost 40 years ago. There was a small ding in between two "teeth." That knife may be sharper now than it was when I received it! The food processor blade is probably about 30 years old, and has been pretty neglected. Mark gave it "teeth" again! His communication and ethics are marvelous, and his prices are very fair. Have been telling all of my kitchen-loving peeps about him, and will very definitely be back! I can't imagine how my experience could have been any better. Communication was prompt, clear and welcoming. The packaging I received to mail in my knives and blender blades was exceptional and sent almost immediately after I requested it. I made a mistake in the timing - forgetting that I would be out of town when the knives were to be returned - and Mark made it super easy, delaying their return until my requested date. Got my knives sharpened at their scheduled location, Ace in Moraga. Ace folks were super nice. Knives came back sharp. Made dicing onions today an easy task. $7 flat fee for knives. Good and bad. Good if you have longer knives. Bad if you have shorter knives. Typically you'd expect $1 per inch. read more

Unbelievable job sharpening my knives. I gave him 7 Shun Premier knives ranging from Santoku to boning and he put a better edge than when I bought them new!
