Customer service is excellent. He's very friendly and professional. Price is reasonable. He said that he's at Davis farmer's market every 3rd Saturday except for the month of January. JB sharpened my meat slicer circular serrated blade a few years ago which is still "brand new" razor sharp!! We actually made an appointment at his home in Fairfield and he sharpened it in his mobile unit. Well worth the drive from Davis. It saved me from having to purchase a new slicer, as mine had been discontinued and there were no replacement blades. Just this week, I dropped off 9 of my knives to Davis Ace on 3rd Street where JB comes first and third Tuesdays. They are all now razor sharp! My large meat slicer knife had a damaged tip and he fixed it! (I wish I would have taken a before and after photo!) It makes a huge difference working with sharp knives. I highly recommend this place! I called them to inquire about drop off hours and the lady who answered was so kind and friendly. Since I reside in fairfield and he also lives in town, I ended up going to their home to drop off my knives and JB was done in under 20 minutes. Setting an appointment to see him was so easy. This guy is so flexible and accomodating. He was very friendly and so informative. He didn't end the transaction by just handing me back my knives, he also taught me how to best maintain it and was very knowledgeable. JB, was very friendly. I dropped my Milwaukee knife off with him, While I shopped the Vallejo Farmers market with my family. Came back. And gave him 3 dollars more than what he asked. I checked the blade in my vehicle. And was NOT happy! The grind was uneven, and knife was actually duller than when I brought it to him. JB is a magician who breathed new life into my neglected knife set. I had succumbed to taking them to the local grocery store a few times but never saw any legit improvement.
