I had the chance to visit The Cut at 99 Church Street during Restaurant Week. The Restaurant Week three course menu was a great way to try the restaurant at a reasonable price point, especially for a Wolfgang Puck restaurant in the Financial District. The space itself immediately stood out. It is beautiful, modern, and relaxing without feeling stuffy. It is the kind of place that works equally well for a business lunch, a quiet dinner or a special occasion. For the first course, I went with the beet salad. It was decent and well prepared, though not the standout of the meal. That said, the main course more than made up for it. I added a little extra to upgrade to the filet mignon and it was absolutely worth it. The steak was cooked perfectly rare, tender, and flavorful, and it felt like a proper steakhouse level entrée rather than a scaled back Restaurant Week portion. Dessert was a classic cheesecake, which was rich and satisfying and a nice way to end the meal. Service throughout was excellent. Attentive, professional, and well paced, with staff checking in at the right moments without hovering. Everything came out smoothly and on time, which made the overall experience feel polished. Thanks to my Amex credit, I have been making more of an effort to try different restaurants, and this one is a clear winner. It is a very nice gem that also happens to be conveniently close to my workplace, which makes it even more appealing. Came to Cut as a treat to myself for my birthday and supremely pleased by the experience. The atmosphere is very chill and a hint of music in the background. The hostess gave a warm greeting at the door. The waiter went to through the menu throughly and I ended up ordering the Tomahawk Steak medium rare and sliced by the chef. It was cooked immaculately and looked sooo good. All the food was amazing I just devoured most of it but took a little something. The mashed potatoes go perfectly the steak. This was an amazing experience. I came in with my best friend and we decided to have dinner at the Four Seasons, and my sister actually recommended it. So we want to come in to try the food I had Hummus, grilled octopus and my best friend had the steak medium well done, everything was excellent. The waitress was very professional and accommodating. She was actively making sure that we were good and we didn't need anything. It was very intimate. There's 2 sections, one with the bar and the back there's tables to be seated at, and I think way in the back. Food was great, but the service was not up to par. 1. We made a reservation a week ago but were told by the hostess that sometimes there reservation systems have processing errors, so we had to be seated for dinner in the lounge area. My wife and I aren't too picky, so we didn't mind, but we wish we had been seated in the dining area instead. 2. Our waitress was a bit cold. When asking for a recommendation for what sauce to pair with our steak, we were told to get a sauce flight. There was no mention of a sauce flight charge, which I think should be standard. 3. Not once did the waitress fill our glasses with water. The glasses themselves were pretty small, and the only time I had a refill in the 1 hour we were there was when I saw a different waiter filling up water for the party next to us. I don't expect constant filling, but I expect my glass to be filled at least once, especially if it was empty early into our dinner. 4. We were asked if we want to try the bread before our entrees came out and we said "yes please". We never got the bread until we asked for a third time. 5. We were never offered a dessert menu either. I normally don't review restaurants, but I felt the service here was particularly poor, so I thought I'd share for future diners. I'm hoping this is a byproduct of us being sat in the lounge area on an otherwise busy night, but I would expect some of the basics to be covered. Food was great though. read more

I found the cost of everything to be above average for NYC. I began with Sweet Corn Agnolotti, and it was tasty. I ordered a NY Striploin with a side of Spinach. My Steak was about average for NYC and the Spinach was nothing special. A glass of Malbec enhanced my experience. My bill was very steep, but not worth it. I visited Wolfgang Puck yesterday to experience the biggest upset stomach and bad waiter. First of all, I requested that he put the wine I chose on my table before my guest arrived. He did not as he was too busy. Second issue, I told him out right pre-fixe.Thirdly when my gust arrived he pointed at the most expensive steaks and ignore the pre-fixe menu. He embarrassed me and made me over spend as if he was paying the bill. I would file a dispute but I paid cash. I cannot say if the food was any good because I felt sick to my stomach. This training of waiters is bad -policy, predatory. This company should consider to pay me back some of my money. O spoke to the manager just now and he said "next time you come I will take care of you". There will be no next time but definitely everyone will know how they train their staff. Trendy restaurant, I was excited to try this place out on a Saturday night. We got there around 8:40pm for the 8:45pm reservation and were seated around 10-15min later. We had a group of ten. I felt like the service was pretty slow. We sat down around 9pm and we didn't get our food till 10:50pm. We got apps and drinks as well in between. I am thinking it is because we had a larger group so it took longer but to wait 2 hours for an entree seemed kind of long. I got the new york sirloin and it was kind of burnt outside so it was really chewy. I wasn't very impressed especially at this kind of price point. We also got fries and creamed spinach on the side to share. Nothing to rave about. I was also confused by the creamed spinach because it was just blanched spinach. There wasn't any flavor and no cream to be found. I did like the tuna tartare and butter lettuce salad that we got for apps. The whole meal ended around 12am. We came to celebrate my birthday & my wife's award for "The Whale". The atmosphere is really quite beautiful with magnificent floral arrangements all around & dramatic spotlights for each table. The service was impeccable throughout. We enjoyed the fresh oysters, the perfectly sized burrata & pear salad followed by the wet aged ribeye mid rare with sautéed spinach on the side. The steak was thinner than we expected (1/2" -3/4" or so?) for a 19 ounce bone in rib-eye. We finished with the red berry & citrus swirl and the Black Forest sphere and a glass of 10 year port. The desserts were gorgeous! Delicious too!!! They celebrated our day with 6 beignets with chocolate sauce. First let me say the service and staff were impeccable. Very attentive and friendly. The food was good; don't get me wrong but not as good as I have had on previous visits. I ordered the Australian filet mignon but it was barely seasoned. Just tasted ordinary and with this caliber restaurant I was looking for more than ordinary. The potato purée lacked a lot of flavor too. This could have just been an off night but when I'm paying a grand for five people I am expecting an unbelievable dinner. My daughter felt the same as she has experienced unbelievably delicious steaks from this restaurant previously. Had a delightful late valentines dinner at cut, shoutout to our server who I think was named Simon, although I'm not great with names. Had the oysters, a filet and a ribeye, with prawns, mushrooms, potato puree, and mojito sorbet for dessert, all of which were delicious. I didn't catch the sommeliers name but he was great as well, refreshing our wine whenever we got low, and it was certainly nice not having to worry about keeping the bottle on the table. The cocktails we had to start were very balanced as well, some places add superfluous ingredients for the sake of it but everything in ours (the black pearl and the kings tonic) felt like integral inclusions that served a purpose. The ambiance was exactly what I would like from a steakhouse, a little dark and atmospheric. The only "error" we experienced is that we got a full twelve oysters instead of a half dozen, but who would complain about that? Great experience, and I'm sure we'll be back. read more

I ordered and picked up two brunch meals this afternoon at CUT 99 Church Street/Tribeca 6/8/2025. CUT, please take note that the brioche French toast was SO HORRIBLE, rubbery and tasteless, so much so that you need to extricate this item from your brunch menu. And, yes. I used the berry compote and maple syrup with my order. Barely, did I ingest the one slice of the two slices of French toasts. The other slice of brioche French toast, I IMMEDIATELY discarded into the rubbish. I deduced that a hotel such as the Four Seasons/TriBeCa would have incredible food to eat. Indeed, I discovered the converse today. This leads me to simply wonder how palatable are the steaks ? CUT falls under the auspices of Wolfgang Steakhouse. Of all the steakhouses in New York City, it's definitely not one of those that people talk about as a definitive New York City steakhouse. However, it's a Wolfgang Puck restaurant and a good experience. It started off with a little bite of cheese which I thought was very minuscule followed by a tasty pretzel bread. We got the porterhouse medium rare and it was solid (one or two of the pieces of filet were under) so the photo doesn't do it justice. Maybe a tad more seasoning. The Mac and cheese was great and the fries had a phenomenal old bay sauce with them. We could've done without the wild mushrooms as it was a lot of food already and they didn't do anything for me as a fan of mushrooms. First and foremost, I want to thank the staff at CUT for making our dinner the best and most memorable dinning experience we've ever had. Beyond 5 star, not only was the food top notch, but the staff went above and way beyond my expectations! My wife is a huge Wolfgang Puck fan... HUGE! One of her dreams was to eat at one of his restaurants (hopefully while he was there so she could give him a hug. Lol). I booked a reservation as a surprise for my wife; it was for our 20th anniversary. I wanted it to be extra special this year, and thanks to the staff at CUT, it was. The first time I proposed, I was poor and couldn't afford much. For years I promised her a proper engagement ring... it took longer than expected, but, this year was the year. I mentioned this when I made the reservation and that I planned on asking her to marry me... again. The staff took this info and ran with it! Lol When we arrived at the restaurant, they were expecting us... I mean, beyond the fact that we had a reservation. We were shown to our table, and not just any table, the best table in the house! The hostess, I'm not good with names, but I think it was Danielle, was great... all the staff were, in fact! They were very attentive and made sure we were completely satisfied with everything. Being a special occasion, I ordered the Japanese Wagyu. It was cooked to perfection; super tender and buttery! My wife had the Branzino, also wonderful! All of the food was fantastic! We didn't realize how large the portions were and so order too much, but I'm glad we did. Everything we ate there was an absolute treat to the palate!! Our sincere compliments to the chefs in the kitchen! To drink, my wife had the "Peace On Earth" which she loved. I had the Glenmorangie 10 year, my favorite Scotch! Everything they gave us was of the topmost quality and cooked to perfection... then came dessert... This is where the truly beyond expectations came in. I ordered a chocolate souffle and discreetly got the new engagement ring ready. When the souffle came, it wasn't alone! Another server came out with a second dessert that had written on the plate "Happy Anniversary"... and then the hostess came out with a THIRD dessert, a cheesecake, and on it's plate was written "Will you marry me... again?"... that one even surprised me! It was SO perfect!! I then explained to my wife what this was all about and presented her with the ring... to say she was happy is the understatement of understatements! I proposed again, and she said "yes" again. Woohoo!! The staff, both in front and in the kitchen, definitely live up to the Wolfgang Puck name. We could not have been happier with the whole experience! ... And, Mr. Wolfgang, sir, if you happen to read this, my wife loves you, almost as much as she loves me... lol. Not quite the experience I had been hoping for when we stopped by for lunch. We had ordered the prix fixe menu and I settled on the chilled asparagus soup, salmon, and chocolate cake. The best item was the soup; I could've just easily enjoyed a vat of this and would be fine. Well, I would be bloated beyond recognition but you get the gist. The taste was absolute perfection, high marks all around for this unassuming dish! The salmon was a complete confusion. To start things, there was an obscene amount of ginger that came with it. It wasn't the sweet pickled kind, nor was it from a young root, but a hill of fibrous, old/spicy ginger that I left aside thinking it's purely for decoration. No way would it be a tossing ingredient for the salmon, it was comedically ridiculous with the quantity and flavor. And the entree itself came out resembling a set lunch you would get at the Korean market. It looked like a bibimbap sans "bap". And the dessert was decent. It's not the best chocolate cake I've ever had but definitely not the worst. I preferred the other dessert option over mine, but it really was just a hair better in terms of flavor. Also, this may be uncontrollable or just plain not doable but when I opened the bathroom door to leave, another patron tried to come in at the same time so she almost just shoved me back into the loo while I was stunned how rude this diner can be. My husband and I have been coming here for years and have NEVER had a bad dish. Service is always stellar, from the moment you enter until you leave. Tonight we came and continued celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary, and once again, Cut did not disappoint. On Lauren's recommendation, we enjoyed the Sweet Corn Agnolotti (highly recommend), the dry aged American ribeye, with wild field mushrooms in a delectable sauce (I wanted a cup of it!). For dessert a cappuccino with the Black Forest Sphere with cherry sorbet. We come here because we know we'll always be surprised with what new dishes they'll have for us to choose from, and service is always 5 star. I rarely write reviews, but given this experience, I felt compelled--and unfortunately, it was a disappointing first. We have dined at CUT in Las Vegas before, where the food, service, and ambience were truly exceptional. Sadly, today's visit did not measure up. We had a reservation for two at 7:15pm, but since our party grew to three, we arrived at 6:50 early to allow time for an adjustment. Instead of seating us promptly, the host placed us at a small corner table in the bar area, where it took an unusually long time just to have our drink order taken. By 7:20, I checked in with the host and was told our table was still "settling the bill." Between then and 7:40, there was no communication, no menus, and no service of any kind. At 7:45, I followed up again, only to be met by the manager, who not only failed to provide an update but also spoke to me in an unprofessional and dismissive manner, telling me to simply return to my table. While the food at CUT is generally outstanding, the service at this location was shockingly poor and completely out of line with the brand's reputation. In the end, we left and went to Hutong (which is on the complete other end of town might I note), where we received exceptional service--an easy 10/10 experience by comparison. read more

Visited Cut by Wolfgang Puck near World Trade Center on a weekday evening. It was pretty crowded. First, we had some complimentary breads. We had burrata as appetizer, tomahawk as entree and chocolate soufflé as dessert. Also ordered cocktail and ice wine which were pretty good. Overall food was pretty good. The entree tomahawk, however, was a bit disappointing. The presentation of the steak cutting performance? was entertaining, but steak itself was not that big but mostly fatty. The food is really good here. The staff seems to preemptively take away my food though when I'm still eating and not done. I came here once in the past - prepandemic- and the lady took away my water. I had the 8oz filet and ....I was thirsty and...I paid for that! But futile to complain because I wasn't about to open another bottle. :/ The table had good cheesy bread and other assorted breads. The last time I recently went it was lunch time - I had some steak and switched the fries for more of the salad, which was great. But then the person took away my bread that I was eating...you know, the best part ..the middle!! They must be given that instruction to do that so they can accommodate new people. It's a bit undesirable to stay and converse if you don't even have your drink still because they took it.
