I hate to do this as I agree with all of the negative reviews because, in the past, I've had the same experiences. However, when they truly deserve 5 stars, I give them 5 stars. My delivery was originally scheduled for Monday, then I received a notification it would be delivered 2 days early on Sat. between 1400 and 1800. I became concerned when it said it was out for delivery and then 15 minutes later it was "processing for delivery". I had flashbacks of all the horrendous deliveries I've had in the past (including the driver lying about delivering my package when she didn't and the time I had to literally go to Ceres to get my package), so this time I was getting ready to, once again, drive down to Ceres and get my delivery since it's only 10 miles. And then, all of a sudden, my Ring alerts start going off and the doorbell rings! I know, right, THEY RANG THE DOORBELL! Lo and behold my package arrived an hour and 15 minutes before it was scheduled to arrive. The app still showed it was"preparing to deliver" but then showed "delivered ". Again, I do HATE to give this place 5 stars, but this time they actually deserve it. read more

UPS decided that they wanted to ruin a 5-year-old girl's Christmas this year! A special package (a bike) was supposed to be delivered on Saturday, December 20, but it was rescheduled for Monday, December 22nd. I spoke to customer service on Friday the 19th about this, and they promised me it would be delivered on the 22nd for sure. I told them it had to be here on the 22nd because the girl was going home back East early on the 23rd, and if it was not here, she would not get her Christmas present. They promised it would be delivered on the 22nd, no matter what. I got the out-for-delivery notification on the 22nd and followed the UPS truck on their live map. I saw it was 2 houses away on the map and went out front to verify it was there, and it was. The driver decided to skip my house, and the 5-year-old girl's bike was not delivered. I waited to see if it was going to come back this way for hours, but then at 4:30pm I got a text message saying it was rescheduled for the 23rd, which would be too late. I called, and after going through the hell that UPS calls an automated phone support service, I finally talked to a UPS rep that barely spoke English, but she said she put in a call to the local hub and someone would call me in an hour because she marked the delivery as urgent. The call never came, so a little over 2 hours later I called again, and after going through the same hell, I was told by another UPS support rep that it would still be delivered today, the 22nd, and that I would get a call in 30 minutes. The call never came, and later I got another text message saying the delivery was rescheduled for the 23rd. The driver either missed the delivery, didn't want to deliver it for some reason, or just said, "Screw it, it's not my package, and I am busy, so I will just have it delivered another day." Whenever I have a package that needs to be signed for, I get a notification I was not home. I actually take an entire day to sit at home. The ticket announcing their attempt is always on the street side of a gate that swings out. They only try to push it in and assume it's locked without trying it the other way first. It's even posted in my profile the instructions for delivery. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand how to try a gate/door to gain entrance for an important parcel. I have lived here 5 years and have NEVER locked the gate. Teach your drivers better. Don't even get me started on the theft I've experienced by UPS employees. read more

Laziest drivers... sad that Amazon delivery runs laps around this company considering UPS has had more time to perfect delivery. This happened a few years ago but it was so traumatic for my Wife I cannot forget about it.First off my wife's mother passed away in New York and we both packed a cedar family trunk and had it shipped to Ceres Ca. Via UPS.We took out all available insurance in that priceless family items were within.Making a long story short after not receiving the chest and with No help from UPS locating the trunk.We found it had been left way across town! I do think the Ceres facility is a smaller location and that they might be out growing that quickly but every person that I have talked with here has been super helpful. Working in client service myself, I understand that sometimes things are out of your control. We have a lot of time sensitive packages that come from all over the country, and the people that I talk with at this hub understand that. Rob, Gary, Jeff, Dylan, Leo and a few of the other guys at the pick up counter are always very friendly and willing to help if there are ever shipping delays. I have also talked with Jennifer over the phone a few times, she has been very pleasant and helpful. Henry is our driver/delivery guy- he's always so happy and in a good mood, we are always happy to see him- especially the office dog Tuff who really looks forward to seeing Henry and getting treats! Another delivery that got screwed by ups. Unbelievable that my package says delivered but I never received. I have multiple cameras and I've watched to see if maybe just maybe a porch pirate got it. Nope they say they delivered at 2:16 and to no ones surprise as u read most of these comments ups never even came down my street. I watched an hour behind and a half hour after said time. Never even saw the caca brown van on my street. My wife was home as was our son all day yet the doorbell never rang, I never got an alert the door bell was pushed or anyone was in the area to set off to start recording. I was told someone would call me within the hour and that has been two and a half hours ago. I just don't understand how a billion dollar company lets a facility like Ceres be such a $hit show and how they let it stay this way for so long. The 4th time this month I get an alert saying which day and then when I'm on live delivery the truck in my neighborhood on the same street. Then I get a email saying it will be delivered tomorrow. I call the UPS 800 they claim it's a glitch with the computers and threw the driver off. Really 4 times are you serious ??? One package was suppose to be here Friday then Monday and then didn't get it until Tuesday. The driver is what high or drunk?!? This is beyond stupid ... and you can blame is on Covid 19 at all .... an hour later the driver is still in my neighborhood. read more

I've never been one to leave reviews or bad ones at that. Not to mention my son worked for this location years ago and told me how careless and unprofessional they are! But to actually experience it first hand is so frustrating! UPS Modesto/Ceres hub location does not even deserve a 1 star! I have had the worst experience the past 3 days with this location and my packages not being delivered. My packages were to be expedited and the first day I was supposed to receive them, I actually received a phone call stating they were from ups and asking what is in my package! I immediately thought this is odd and or fraud. So... worried, I just continued waiting for my package that was to arrive between 11:30-3:30... 3:30 came and nothing. I called UPS customer service and was told, one! that they've been dealing with fraudulent phone calls and that my package is still on its way and would be at my location by 7! 7 o'clock came and still nothing. I called back to be told that my package was sent to the angels camp UPS hub by accident! and that the truck was late and so now I won't get my package until the next day as my package is now on another truck BACK TO MODESTO UPS HUB! Which mind you is only 15 minutes from my house! So here I am waiting a 3rd day I talked to customer service the night before and told them I would pick up my package instead once it gets to modesto!!( not to mention I've been on live chats with ups this whole time as well) so I get informed that my package was placed back on the truck and that I cannot go pick it up!!! Uh annoying! So I'm still waiting!! and I received a text stating that a signature is required and that my package will be left with my neighbor at 12:15, which I did not authorize being that I had to rearrange my whole schedule and missed appointments for this package! Here I go again!! call them back! And I'm told my package will be delivered at 1:15 and they are close by! It's almost 2 now and no package!!! So I'm pretty sure it will get rerouted AGAIN! And I won't receive my "expedited" package that I needed 3 days a go! This is so unprofessional, inconsiderate and unacceptable!! I have very important business that I rearranged AGAIN! Just to be sitting here waiting on this package! This is way too stressful and I really need my replacement phone in that package before my new plan kicks in and my old plan in canceled tomorrow!!!! I am supposed to be receiving a package. It arrived at the distribution center for my area a week ago and has been marked "out for delivery" no less than three times, each time the status would change back to "in transit" and "delivery will be delayed by one business day." I have spoken to chat support twice and was told both times to keep waiting. The second time I was also told that the warehouse would be contacted directly and they would call me within the hour. That was five hours ago. The distribution center is less than 20 minutes from the delivery address. UPS delivery and customer service is seriously lacking. We have to pay for delivery of items, are told when it will arrive, only for that to be a lie with no further information or help to get the package delivered. I don't understand how this is possibly any semblance of acceptable. read more

The WORST service. My package was at this facility for nearly a week. "Out for delivery" several times and if after a phone call from a facility rep promising it would be delivered on 12/10, still no package. Then they show up today. I refused the package. I have advised the shipper that I will never order again if UPS is the carrier. Always here negative things about the Postal Service but I have always gotten my packages on time from them. The tracking website gives you false info and when you call you get the run around about Thanksgiving being the reason they are behind. I know for a fact that UPS uses the Postal Service as backup for their deliveries. They can't handle the volume. read more

Can I do zero stars? UPS here in Modesto/Ceres is absolutely useless. Nearly any package that is forced to be delivered by UPS gets rerouted for a later delivery. And when I say nearly every package I pretty much mean every package because I can barely remember a package being delivered on time but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. The drivers are lazy and often leave without delivering packages so they can get back early or whatever it is they're doing. Today I can only assume my driver is in a hurry to catch the games. Once I actually managed to get a manager at the Ceres office and they made the driver return to drop off my package but good luck getting ahold of any live person anymore. This is definitely why I choose to ship all my company goods through FedEx and only FedEx. read more

I have been hired twice and first time sent to the wrong place then told they were no longer hiring, then told I could come in and with 10 hours told not to. I got ready twice to go in and then told not to after making arrangements. I don't think I'll be in any rush to use their services, I'd rather walk my packages at this point. Called to find out what's going on and call center said they put urgent call into driver. He should call back within the hour. First of all why can't I rate lower than 1 star, giving 1 whole star for this absolute dumpster fire of a business is not fair to anyone who knows that they worth less than the gum stuck to the bottom of our shoe. These people will loose, damage (or steal) your packages, they will lie about where your packages are, lie about attempted deliveries. Just this month I have had one package "Lost" one package "damaged and disposed of" (let's be honest both of them were probably stolen by UPS employees) and now I have two more packages that are more than a week late and UPS "customer service" is trying to find them. I had a package that was supposed to be delivered on Thursday before 2 pm. Thursday morning I checked UPS tracking, package was on truck for delivery from Ceres CA, I decided to stay home so I can take delivery. I was working in the front yard all day. At about 4 pm I checked ups tracking "delivery attempted"!!??!? I WAS HERE ALL FUCKING DAY! WTF? I called ups and complained to customer service, they gave some BS reason and said it would be delivered tomorrow, on Friday I checked tracking, now it says "check back tomorrow for an updated delivery date" I called ups again to complain and they said that they will open a case on it. Now it is Monday and no update. Keep in mind that this package is a replacement package for one that they had previously "reported damaged and notified the shipper" I am now 2 weeks late to getting this item and it has negatively impacted my business. I choose to ship with FedEx almost exclusively for my business and use DHL and USPS when applicable. When I buy goods I choose FedEx whenever the option is available but sometimes Brown is the only option from the seller. By far the worst shipping company and the worst customer service ever! read more

My experience is similar to that of others who have posted here. A package was supposedly delivered to my porch by UPS. I live in the middle of 20 acres, and my house is on a hill, with several dogs roaming freely within the fenced yard area. To reach the porch, a visitor must enter the ranch gate, drive up the hill, and enter the yard with watch dogs. At the time of the supposed delivery, two people were at home. When the dogs bark to tell us someone is here, we go out to the gate to call off dogs and greet the visitor or delivery person. No UPS delivery person arrived at the time he stated, and no package was placed on our porch. I have pursued this, and I have been treated rather rudely by the agent on the telephone, representing "Customer Service." He told me that the shipper was the customer, not me. This has been a maddening situation. I have no idea what the delivery person did with my package. Likely, he delivered it to the wrong address, or he threw it away. It may be time for a class-action suit against this unresponsive monopoly. UPS appears to take little responsibility for undelivered packages. read more

UPS is TERRIBLE!!! My package was supposed to arrive on Friday. I kept an eye on the tracking info and saw that it was in my town that morning, so I waited for it to arrive. It never showed up. I checked the tracking info again on Saturday, to find that it had been taken to a different city 2 hours away, and the delivery date was rescheduled to Monday. WTF???? I called customer service and they were NO HELP at all. "Oh, I'm sorry, I don't know what happened. We'll find out for you and give you a call back on Monday." I run a business, and this shipment contained supplies that I needed for an event I was doing that coming weekend. There's a reason I specifically paid for shipping that was supposed to arrive on Friday! Monday goes by, no call from customer service. I did get my items Monday night though, and guess what? The items that were in a box marked "FRAGILE" were shattered! SHATTERED! I called customer service again and they tried to blame it on the company who shipped the items. AND THEY STILL CAN'T TELL ME WHY THEY REROUTED MY PACKAGE AND SENT IT 2 HOURS AWAY WHEN IT WAS RIGHT HERE IN MY TOWN!!! I'm so freaking mad. I paid to have them ship it within a certain amount of time, and I didn't get what I paid for! I could have saved my money and paid for the longer shipping time. And they won't even own up to their mistake. This isn't the first time I've had trouble with UPS. I'm SO done with this company. Never again. read more
