R.E.L.I.E.F, Inc. is an incredibly ethical organization. I have personally observed that each…read moreperson's donation goes directly into the program of their choice. That said, I am very excited to be involved with Relief's efforts to not only help the impoverished in Liberia, but to educate women and children so that they are able to provide for themselves in the future. There are currently a number of programs in place that really need funding. WOW is the Women Of Worth program. This program provides scholarships for women's trade education. The KIS program is Kids In School and it provides children with education, so important in a country that is basically starting over with very little infrastructure. The global leadership training program based in California also needs support. Relief ships donations of food, clothing and medical items to Liberia and is seeking like items. Relief creates global leaders of tomorrow with their youth leadership training programs based in California. They are also active in their US home base, delivering much needed food and toys during the holiday season. I encourage you to support this fantastic organization led by selfless, dedicated people of integrity.

We highly recommend Caregiver to You. They have a dedicated and caring staff and offer a variety…read moreof services to support your loved ones. They are flexible and communicative and in our experience have really demonstrated they care about you and your family. The two caregivers (working different shifts) they have assigned for our parents (93 and 94 yrs.) help manage their medications, remind them of and make sure they are ready for appointments and when we could not make it, they took them to their appointments. They help our mom remember her grooming activities, provide companionship and plan and prepare tasty meals that my parents enjoy. While we could have gone the route of hiring an independent caregiver, we realized we didn't want to take on the due diligence involved with finding and hiring someone - the background checks, insurance, reference checks and possibly having to deal with taxes. Additionally since we don't live locally, if the independent caregiver called in sick, we'd be challenged with finding a fill in. So for us using a service provider was the right choice. Caregiver to You has been wonderful in ensuring the shift is staffed in the event one of our caregivers can't be there (which in the five months we've been using them has not been very often). We looked at a few services before deciding on Caregiver to You, but we liked their commitment to families and to their staff (happy and fairly compensated staff was important to us). We've been using Caregiver to You for almost 5 months and we are glad we chose them. They feel like an extension of our family and we feel at ease knowing they are there to support us!

I would highly recommend Childtime on Floyd to any parent looking for a structured and supportive…read moreenvironment to help prepare their child for school and build social skills. When our son turned 3, we initially enrolled him part-time to help him socialize and get comfortable around other children. Within just a few weeks, his English vocabulary grew tremendously. It was honestly amusing, and impressive, to hear him use new words we had never taught him while telling us about his day. He also became much more comfortable interacting with both children and adults. Although he is still naturally shy, he has come out of his shell significantly, and we eventually moved him to full-time care after seeing how much he was benefiting. As parents, we also really appreciated the level of communication Childtime provided. They send home a weekly menu so we know what meals and snacks are being served, and his teachers (shout out to Ms. Josephine and Ms. Stacy!) would regularly post updates and photos on the app of our son's day. Getting to see him participate in activities that aren't always possible at home (color runs, magician shows, dance parties) was one of our favorite parts of the experience. I'd also like to recognize Sonja, the director, who has always been courteous, accommodating, and honest. On multiple occasions, she went out of her way to point out a promotional discount, vacation options, as well as a corporate discount available through my employer. That level of transparency and willingness to help really stood out to us. If you're looking for a safe, structured environment to help prepare your child for school and get them out of their shell, then we would absolutely recommend Childtime on Floyd.

This is perhaps one of the best companies that addresses Seniors in our Modesto Community. The…read morestaff and the leadership have a very clear focus on helping Seniors get the "movement" and the support that they need with exercise and nutrition programs. I have no association with this group, except that I so appreciate the things they are doing for people in Modesto. That's how I have to begin because this non-profit organization continues to give 110% to senior citizens in our community and they do it so well! I've attended the major events that they put on each year for a couple of years. The Age of Movement in May and their Healthy Aging Summit in October at the Center Plaza. This brings senior citizens, like me, together, and educate them, offer free services from vendors attending the shows, and always with the idea of bringing awareness to our community and love to our seniors. The management staff have done a remarkable job of keeping programs and activities for us going, despite many cuts in programs throughout our county. They have a limited staff, but they pull volunteers together for their big events, from those that just love what they're doing and want to help. If you don't know about this group, get to know them. Research them on Google, and get involved with them. They are one of our city's treasures. By getting involved you'll also get "back into action" and into health too. Thank you so very much Healthy Aging Assn. You guys rock! :-) healthyagingassociation..
