The newly refinished area blends seamlessly with our existing flooring -- you would never know where the old ends and the new begins. Their craftsmanship is truly exceptional. While the entire company has been wonderful to work with, I want to especially recognize Jesse and Ray, the two technicians who completed our project. These two went above and beyond from start to finish. They took the time to explain every step of the process, answered all of our questions with patience and clarity, and treated our home with genuine care. Their professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail made the experience outstanding. Jesse and Ray are true assets to Luminous Flooring, and because of them, we will gladly recommend this company to anyone looking for quality flooring work. Five stars all the way.

Ultimately, we bought enough Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) flooring from Cortec to cover about 1,300 sq feet that we installed ourselves and we had the store install carpet in the remaining space. Our close friend is a floor contractor (although he can't actually lay carpet any longer due tot he impact on his knees) and he was impressed with the work the store's installer's did. Lord knows, this is superior to what you'll deal with at the big box stores where you have no idea who is going to do your installation. All in all, the store was easy to work with and got us what we needed when we needed it.

#BUYERBEWARE #BADBusiness…read more WARNING I rarely give a ONE star but if there was an option to give a ZERO star I would! As a Consumer that loves to support local and/or small businesses I wish I had patronized a Big Box Store for this small project and accepted a quote that would have been twice as much, but at least I would have been able to open and close the Front door and have closet doors that were actually able to open and close after the flooring job was complete!! They do not agree that after a flooring job has been complete that a customer should Assume that their doors, including the FRONT door will open and close! This is one of those situations where one person (let's call him Terry) knows that his employee (Humm let's call him Jeff) did not write a Bid correctly and then outsourced the Labor to a company that is not equipped to do the job!! Don't let the "SALE" price persuade you because they do not include or expect for a job to be complete. Terry actually said "well it doesn't say the doors will open" WTF! Terry originally verbally agreed that Jeff should have known that the new carpet would need a different installer! I didn't hire the outscourced company! I hired this sorry excuse of a flooring company! #SMALLCLAIMSCOURT #HORRIBLE

Choosing a home with the original wood floors was a must-have for us. When we moved into our 1895…read moreTower Grove East home a couple years ago, it had exactly what we were looking for--beautiful heart pine floors throughout--but they were in rough shape. They showed years of deferred maintenance, damage from the previous owners' pets, and a few footprints from their DIY refinishing job-gone-wrong. After speaking with a few companies, we were skeptical of whether we'd be able to bring these old floors back to life. When we met Jim at Abeln Floor Systems, we instantly saw that he was passionate about restoration. His expertise is unparalleled and we knew he was the right person for this job. Jim also had an inventory that would help us repair a few tricky areas that required special attention and odd-sized boards. We kicked off the job by doing a walkthrough with both Jim and his crew member Kenny. This ensured we had a shared expectation of outcomes and gave us all the opportunity to flag any areas of concern before the work started. Throughout the process, both Jim and Kenny were incredibly transparent and proactive with their communications; we received a daily check in call to share updates, ask questions, and confirm we were satisfied with the work so far. I couldn't imagine a better outcome and my biggest regret is that we didn't do this project sooner. I mean, look at the pictures!! The floors are immaculate and have made such a significant impact in restoring this home's character. Jim and Kenny were both amazing to work with and I'm so thankful that we were able to do this project with them. If you are looking for high-quality outcomes and a trustworthy crew, look no further. This is the best team you could hire in greater St. Louis.

We have wood floors throughout, except for for whatever reason two of the bedrooms they put this carpet into the middle... Which, of course when we moved in one of our dogs promptly decided to use as a bathroom whenever she wanted. The carpet didn't look great, didn't smell great, collects dust all that bad stuff. Plus, it just didn't match the rest of the house. Jim was able to come in here and start on Tuesday and by Saturday the floors were ready and we could move the furniture back in. The finished product looks amazing and they were just a really good group of people to work with. If you're going to have somebody in your home for a few days in a row it definitely helps to have friendly and trustworthy people. I would highly recommend him to anybody.

Of note he showed up on time for two meetings to get the scope of the job down, provided me with a concise written estimate and a detailed invoice when the job was done. Speaking of the job, it was done timely and very well. This wasn't my first go around with hardwood, I've done projects in Chicago and I have a cousin who owns a firm that does high end hardwood also. So when I met Mick, I felt at ease he knew what he was talking about. Handling a rehab from 300 miles a way can be challenging. He was responsive, we did have some calls and texts going back and forth. There were also picture updates. At the end of the job everything was cleaned up. Everyone that comes in raves about the floors, I did pick out flooring that cost a little more than some of the other stuff, as tempting as the sale hardwood was. Both elements have to come together, no matter how nice the flooring is if the installation is poor, it shows. If I ever need to do more hardwood flooring he will be the first and only call and I recommend him highly.

I used the Yelp project assistant feature and after a short while, I received contact from Ron, via the Key Carpet Yelp business page. Ron quickly filled me in regarding his 45 years experience in carpeting repair and then reviewed some photos I sent him to get a better picture of my situation. Ron quoted me $400 for the job, using the extra carpeting material I had on hand and offered to come the very next day, Friday mid morning. Ron gave me several assurances he'd handle whatever situation was present and not to give it any more worry. I appreciated his confidence and stated flexibility regarding the job conditions and his intention to just get it done. Ron is old school and not a Prima-donna. On a prompt arrival, Ron and his helper Brayson moved our kids bed out of the way, tore out the old carpeting, filthy tack strips, and treated the area with an odor neutralizer before jumping into the installation. The whole job took almost exactly 3 hours from arrival to departure. Ron & Brayson were true beasts in knocking out the job! While the company was easy to communicate with prior to the work being done we had a huge hiccup during the actual work. While planning to sell our home we were also in the process of moving 4,500 miles away. We had multiple businesses coming to our home on certain days to do their specific jobs (cleaning, staging, photographing, open house etc). I was told several times exactly how long the installation of the carpeting should take and based all other appointments on what I had been told. While on a trip I received a call telling me the installation would take another few days, which was simply unacceptable. Thankfully, Key Carpet was able to pull employees from another job to finish ours on time. This whole process caused an extreme amount of stress and headaches. While we were happy with how the new carpeting looked, it was definitely not the smoothest process.
