Between stubborn pet odors and recent rain water intrusion, it became necessary to replace carpeting in my children's room. I used the Yelp project assistant feature and after a short while, I received contact from Ron, via the Key Carpet Yelp business page. Ron quickly filled me in regarding his 45 years experience in carpeting repair and then reviewed some photos I sent him to get a better picture of my situation. Ron quoted me $400 for the job, using the extra carpeting material I had on hand and offered to come the very next day, Friday mid morning. Ron gave me several assurances he'd handle whatever situation was present and not to give it any more worry. I appreciated his confidence and stated flexibility regarding the job conditions and his intention to just get it done. Ron is old school and not a Prima-donna. On a prompt arrival, Ron and his helper Brayson moved our kids bed out of the way, tore out the old carpeting, filthy tack strips, and treated the area with an odor neutralizer before jumping into the installation. The whole job took almost exactly 3 hours from arrival to departure. Ron & Brayson were true beasts in knocking out the job! I'm currently unclear whether this was a referral from Key Carpet to Lenderman Flooring, or Key Carpet employees themselves... but I'm a satisfied customer either way. read more

We hired Key Carpet to take all the carpeting out of the main living rooms and completely re-do the second story carpeting of our home. While the company was easy to communicate with prior to the work being done we had a huge hiccup during the actual work. While planning to sell our home we were also in the process of moving 4,500 miles away. We had multiple businesses coming to our home on certain days to do their specific jobs (cleaning, staging, photographing, open house etc). I was told several times exactly how long the installation of the carpeting should take and based all other appointments on what I had been told. While on a trip I received a call telling me the installation would take another few days, which was simply unacceptable. Thankfully, Key Carpet was able to pull employees from another job to finish ours on time. This whole process caused an extreme amount of stress and headaches. While we were happy with how the new carpeting looked, it was definitely not the smoothest process. read more

Special orders NOT recommended! Great installation. But special order carpet took almost 2 months to arrive. Kept getting false installation start date from manufacturer. 3 weeks before installation the manufacturer said the carpet will be delayed because the machine that makes the carpet was mis-calibrated. Took 3 weeks additional just to recalibrate their machine?.. Service is friendly but delay after delay was VERY frustrating. If you want new carpet before moving into a new home purchase, I recommend NOT choosing special order carpet. read more

Having just bought a new home, I was looking to replace existing carpet. I started looking at Home Depot. Then I went to Advance Carpet. I had picked out carpeting I had liked at Home Depot, however, the price was fairly high in my opinion. I was referred to Key Carpet by someone who had told me that I would not be disappointed. I will tell you that I was extremely pleased with Ray, the owner, as well as his knowledge and variety of carpeting he had in stock. The installers were excellent as well. They got in and out and did a very professional job. I cannot even tell where seems meet in the carpet. Bottom line, you will not be disappointed and Key Carpet will beat any big box carpet store hands down. Home Depot wanted more than $2,000 for the same, if not similar carpet that I was looking at. BONUS: Neighbor asked where we got our carpet from. When I told him where, he said that the best place in town (quality and price) as the neighbor was a regional carpet dealer. I called a few days ago to ask wheb they could come out for a quote. I was told I'd have to ask the president of the company myself. Not that they would reach out to the proper person themselves, and get back with me, but that they would give me another phone number to call, and ask someone else. Weird, right? So I did that, and I haven't heard anything back. So today, Friday afternoon, I called the main number back that they have listed for customers to call. After only 3 rings the call disconnected. I tried again and that time it did it after 4 rings. It's 4:30 and you close at 5. There's no reason you can't answer a call, but I do really appreciate you showing exactly the kind of people you are right off the bat. Poor, poor service. Would not recommend and we'll gladly call another company who actually takes phone calls and wants business. read more

I've been using Key Carpet for my clients for years (I'm a real estate agent). They are great whether I need cheap carpet to get a listing ready for sale or better carpet for a buyer. In my last home, I finally got around to trying them myself personally and bought higher end carpet with an upgraded pad. Within an hour, they had shuffled their schedule around to accommodate me and keep my project moving forward. Additionally, the installers were prompt, courteous, and clean.
