Businesses usually start with a passion for success founded on quality products, knowledgeable employees, and excellent customer support. Such was the case two-and-a-half years ago with Custom Video Security (formerly eDigital Deals). I bought a whole CCTV system, multiple cameras, DVR, power supplies, cabling, etc. Much can change over time. I returned last month to buy replacements for failed co-ax camera cables. It seemed to be a simple enough task. Go online, order the cables, get the cables, install the product. Except, I didn't get the product shown in the listing; I got cheap china junk. Simple enough, mistakes happen. Then the problems began. I contacted Custom Security Video and advised I received the wrong item. I got the run-around - "why are they different," "send us pictures," "that's usually how they are." Then the excuses; "the premade cabling there will be some differences as we are using whatever brand/style is available from either our own warehouse or other warehouses" In other words, we don't know what we are selling, and we don't care. I checked and found that Custom Video Security's $17 product was the same as $7.50 junk China cables sold on Amazon. Here's a simple solution: you sent the wrong item, send a call tag, and I'll return it. A $37 refund is not is a crisis, but they made it into one. Even the owner, Ray Shadman, got involved and played the contract clause "As per our terms and conditions, we pay for shipping to you; not for return shipping when you want to send something back." In other words, we sent you the wrong item, but it's not our problem. I paid $14 to ship back a $37 purchase. The result, Custom Video Security gets a black eye, bad Yelp comment, and loses a customer. Think about it BEFORE you use this company. There are plenty of companies that will work hard to get and keep your business. read more

Service was great, prices were fantastic, but most importantly, the responsiveness when I needed support, advise, or had general questions was great and that is the most important think most business owners look for.
