How does this place have such high reviews? Yelp, you've done me wrong here. I'll give the shortest version of this story I possibly can here. I asked Robert to service an airbag kit that was installed on a truck I had just bought. He said it needed to be replaced, and would cost about $3500. I said that's fine, and had some specific requests with regards to what I wanted done and what components i wanted installed. He ignored them all, and sold me whatever he had rotting on his shelf. I asked him for a particular switch box, he instead sold me a box he had on his shelf, which turned out to be faulty. He replaced it, then charged me for parts and labor for the replacement. Read that again. This guy's got some big ones. He also told me he was going to do a lot to stabilize my big truck, like relocate bags and shocks. I was excited, as he talked a big game about how he knows how to stabilize big trucks like mine. When I picked it up, he did none of the other work he said he would do to stabilize it, just replaced the airbag system, and charged me double what he initially quoted me. When I questioned him on this, he got defensive, confrontational, and loud. Up until this point, I really trusted him and liked him. Also, the truck sat crooked at any height, and he couldn't figure out why. He just shrugged his shoulders about it. Since the installation I've had some issues, including a faulty bag ripping less than a year after install. He won't help with any. When I called about the ripped bag he said "there's no warranty". It turns out there's a lifetime warranty, he just didn't want to do the work. He offered no support whatsoever. So basically, after you drive your vehicle out of his shop, you're on your own. I also had a random mystery plug he installed pop out of a T fitting one day, and lost all air right then and there. The fitting served no purpose, and after showing it to many other experts, he likely put it in there because he didn't have the right fitting, and plugged this one to make it work. He's a real Johnny cut-corners. To be completely fair, it's been 3 years since the install, and it has served me well, up until now. It's got a major problem, and the person who installed it and knows most about it is the last person I want to call. It shouldn't be that way. I am a mechanic, and I've learned to service and maintain the system myself. Every time I work on it, I find something else he has cut corners on. I can't recommend this guy one bit. I feel bad writing this review, which is really why it's taken me so long. I know how it is to be a custom fab specialist, most are trying their best. But this is why we review, right? So businesses like this don't get away with overcharging for sub-par work. If I didn't know how to service this thing myself, I'd be screwed. read more

I had new lowering springs and shocks/struts installed at this place on my 2011 Audi A5. Nothing was wrong with the old equipment but I just wanted to lower my car a wee bit. Found the place because I was looking for someplace that specialized in lowered suspensions and after reading all the reviews, it sure sounded like this was the right place. They're also open on Saturday, which is nice for a M-F 9-5 person like me. Setting up an appointment was easy and the whole install process was even easier. All I literally did was tell them what car I had and what I wanted to install and that was it. Honestly thought they would need more information, but they went straight to work and had the car ready for me by the end of the day. So far so good! Great price and great service! Can't say nothing but good things about this place. For a while I was looking for a place that could provide me the services I need for my 07' Tahoe. Looked around Yelp and stumbled upon this place. Great thing is, it's not too far from me, but what sold me to do business with this place is the man in charge - Robert. He's a very genuine guy and definitely knows his craft. Been in business for over 20+ years and talking with him from the start I knew he wasn't wasting anytime and got to the point. Gave me a fair price on parts and labor for the a belltech drop kit (2"/4") for my Tahoe and what surprised me the most was the fast turnaround rate for him to install it. He ran me through the steps and made me understand what I was getting and the customization I was about to do so I felt confident to leave my Tahoe in good hands. I dropped it off around 4pm yesterday (11/6/15) and they closed at 6pm so they had to keep it there that night, but when I called in at around 2pm today (11/7/15), they said it was already done. Mind you they open at 10am on Saturdays, so even if they didn't start on the installment, they got it all done within 4 hours. That's pretty awesome to me. I recently purchased an Air Lift air bag kit and compressor system to help with the rear end sag on my truck when towing a 20ft enclosed trailer. Soon after ordering the kit online I realized I wouldn't have the time to install it myself so I began the search for a competent installer that could do the job on short notice (the install HAD to done in one day, Friday). Custom Modified Experts was one of only two shops I found that could accommodate my schedule. Technically they were a bit further from me, and slightly more expensive than the other shop. But my gut told me to go with CME. I'm happy I went with my gut. The guys at CME took my truck in (I was late dropping it off) and did what I consider a great job. The thing I was most worried about, the wiring, looked nice and neat. They were even able to make a custom bracket that made the mounting of my air compressor even better than the method Air Lift recommended. Rob is an honest person that will be straight to the point and he actually does care about the customer. He'll give you a honest price for what he believes his labor is worth and I respected that. There are many shops out there that will try to high ball you from the beginning knowing that you will ask for a lower price. But not with Rob, the price he gives is the price he feels is fair for his labor you will understand what I mean until you get your car back from Rob. In this market, you get what you pay for and I am very impressed with the work done on my sport's car. After getting my car lowered for the first time, my vehicle was not properly aligned and that led to tires balding and torn bushings. So Rob fixed my suspension by reinforcing it with necessary parts and proper alignment. Rob explains to you the problem that your car may be having. His knowledge about the mechanics of a car is legit...he knows his stuff. He was able to explain the process of what he's going to do with my car and that made me feel like I knew exactly what was going to be done in each step of the process. First Yelp review and well deserved. I purchased a Bell Tech lowering kit for my '99 Chevy C1500. I was referred to a friend of a friend who said he can install it. Unfortunately he did about half or less than half of the installation due to his shop limitations that I wasn't aware of. I found Rob's shop on Yelp. Not only is he a great guy, but he does great business and his work is outstanding. His turnaround time was fast. He ended up finishing the job: C-notched the rear frame and installed the brackets and bump stops, installed center bearing spacer, trimmed rear fenders, installed rear shocks, and installed Air bags. All for a very reasonable price. My truck now rides like it has the factory suspension. Amazing! I will be doing more work on my truck at Rob's shop, and any future suspension (he does all cars, not just trucks) needs will be done by him as well. Had some custom suspension work done on our vehicle here about a couple of years ago. Job took longer than originally estimated, but we tried to be patient so we hopefully could get it done right. Install was not very clean, some bolts were torqued on too tight as we discovered when we had to take it into another shop for fixes. Most likely won't have any more work done here. read more

I usually don't give reviews, but this time I feel like to. Rob knows what he is talking about and what he is doing. I took my 1966 Impala to lower it. After inspection we decided to change bushings, some of them were very old. After change car started to ride much better. No more diving while breaking or tilting on curves. I had my coilovers installed completely wrong by my friend to the point it was super loose and my car was making crazy clunking noises. I went and called Robert to see what the problem was and he seen that everything was completely wrong, Robert gave a moderate price but I expected more. He used some of his parts that broke off from my coilovers and he finished within a day and my car is riding super smooth.
